Andor is such a surprise to me because of just how good it was. Sure it may not be the most Lucas-esque show, but it paid it's respects to the lore and was so rich in quality from real-life locations to acting and writing. There was zero hype for the show and it turned out to be the highest quality Disney era show. I really hope the Andor team continues to work on Star Wars projects after Season 2.

It's honestly more lucas-esque then takes of the Jedi. Combining relevant politics with sci fi, while having realistic depiction of the empire.
I was honestly so surprised when theory said tales of Jedi felt like it was written by Lucas, and his reasoning was that they used dooku.

I enjoyed most of the rest of the arcs...mostly the prison arc with Andy Serkis.
I still remember the let down I felt...when Mon Mothma had this big dinner coming up with a key politician inside Palpatine's circle....and Gilroy blue-balled us! Like come on....give me that political tension like from House of Cards....but nope, happens offscreen...she bitches it out with her husband who just might be a plant...which kind of sucks....I wish her family was a solid support system...but alas. It was clearly set in the Star Wars galaxy, finally made the Empire scary and gave a good representation of how the rebellion formed without shoving lightsabers or the force down our throats. You get a sense of a lived-in world, with day-by-day struggles by common folk under the Empire and the lengths people have to go to to try to make a difference. But I saw it differently, the rebel's struggle on its early formation has given us a small peek to the sacrifice that's needed in order to restore balance to the force. Like people freaking died regardless if the main character made the right choice.

I would like more things like Andor in Star Wars, I feel like the series needs to progress a bit from the pulp sci-fi adventure stuff from its conception and Andor does that by being a grounded gritty show about Life in the galaxy, my favorite mando episode was that one with the scientist where he is just walking around Coruscant, showing how it is to live in a post war galaxy.
The first couple episodes of Mando also kinda does that, by just being a show about bounty hunters and there were very little things about the Force until baby yoda start doing it, but still remained mostly a space westerner. Reason I think it crapped itself later on is because it deviated too much from that.
Basically, Star Wars could use more shows showcasing a normal person's perspective of the Galaxy, maybe a rebels movie about just a rebel soldier in the trenches idk

What fans fail to understand is that Mando and Ahsoka are building a new timeline that combines PT, OT and TCW content and characters. It's not "just cameos" to have characters who exist in the timeline being involved in events. It's not like the Vader nostalgia bait in RO, where Vader changes nothing, in a movie that changes nothing. For example, Ahsoka meeting Luke changes the perspective that both characters have about Anakin. While the Mando era can develop the story going forward, Andor is a dead end leading straight into RO, another dead end.

In my opinion, Andor not being the most "Star Wars" show works to its benefit. It offers a fresh take on the franchise and gives us a brand-new story that I think is very cool. It's nice seeing different adventures in the galaxy. Glad I’m seeing all the Andor support. It’s so gritty and amazing. It captures the vibe of rouge one so well, a lot of people’s favorite Star Wars movie, and shows some of the darker aspects of the rebels too. The writing and dialogue clearly top any Star Wars show or movie created by Disney I agree with almost everything, except for your opinion on Andor. It was Star Wars for grown-ups. Very refreshing. Not overloaded with goofy ass slapstick jokes. A well-written story about the fight against fascism. You can actually watch it without having to be a Star Wars fan because it had good writing, contrary to the other Disney shows. Andor S! What a masterpiece. Enjoyed every second of the show. Even those cereal scenes :D Such a well-written show. Reminded me of shows like Better Call Saul. People call these "boring" but it's just not their cup of tea.. this slow style with well-written and rising drama and shocking/explosive climaxes. Andor was such a fresh take on Star Wars. Not every show has to be told in the style of George Lucas. Just my opinion. The Clone Wars, Tales of the Jedi & Andor S tier for me. How come the three witches can pinpoint Ahsoka in a bonefield surrounding a planet but they cannot find Ezra wandering across a barren planet with lobster people for ten years? Please, let me hear your "theory" on this one. I would like more things like Andor in Star Wars, I feel like the series needs to progress a bit from the pulp sci-fi adventure stuff from its conception and Andor does that by being a grounded gritty show about Life in the galaxy, my favorite mando episode was that one with the scientist where he is just walking around Coruscant, showing how it is to live in a post-war galaxy. The first couple of episodes of Mando also kinda does that, by just being a show about bounty hunters and there were very few things about the Force until baby Yoda started doing it, but still remained mostly a space westerner. The reason I think it crapped itself later on is because it deviated too much from that. Basically, Star Wars could use more shows showcasing a normal person's perspective of the Galaxy, maybe a rebel movie about just a rebel soldier in the trenches idk
I appreciated how intellectual Andor was… it doesn’t treat you like a child, whereas DF does that in everything after Clone Wars. Putting Andor below Ashoka is totally a hot take. It deserves at least an A.
I’m not saying you’re opinion of Andor is wrong, but it definitely makes me re-evaluate how I value your opinions. Andor is a Masterpiece. Andor was such a great show, loved it! The writing, tension, dialogue, scenes, and acting top tier. I really felt like there was something at stake Andor didn't actually get a higher budget than the other shows episode-wise. Andor got 250 million for 12 episodes, while Kenobi supposedly got 150 million for 6, so per episode, Kenobi had a higher budget. Unless these numbers are wrong, Disney hasn't come out and told us, just reports. It's not how much money you have, but what you make of it. Original Star Wars had practically no budget, but with ingenuity they made it work! I don't think I've seen anything Star Wars-related that made me dislike or fear the Empire until Andor showed up. I agree with pretty much everything, but Andor is arguably the best SW show ever made. It's a masterpiece you do actually have some crazy opinions sometimes. Andor is easily one of the best things that have been done within Star Wars for a long time Andor was much better for me than Ashoka. I wanted it to be the opposite but it just wasn’t. Andor was beautifully done. Andor is S tier easily! I see lots of men of culture in these comments respect boys! I loved ANdor, my favorite because of the story and the number of characters And at least for me easily and I mean easily tops any of the other Star Wars shows, the prison arc alone in that show is top-tier. I understand that the show could be viewed as “slow” but in no way does that worsen the writing, the acting, the special effects, etc; the show was slow in the sense that it knew how to take its time with a solid story and it still blows me away that the show that I was least looking forward to managed to be the most compelling, memorable, and entertaining. Andor was a masterpiece I still get chills every time I see Skargaurds's monologue in a dumb TikTok or shout Andor is a Star Wars show so sublime that is smarter than much of its audience. Andor created a whole feeling about the Empire ( a dreadful tyranny, the tension that was emerging from the soul of the citizens) and established why the rebels were formed and fought so hard against this dictatorship regime. Best writing (a simple plot that gained such meaning), fabulous actors (they were not the classic stereotypes; but boy they delivered every line so real) with a low budget and that was amazing. Yes, it was a long journey but let's not forget that in life the good things take time. (Clone Wars seasons 1 -2 were not that amazing and from season 3 onwards the improvement was clear) As an old man, who watched the original series, day 1, in 77, I appreciate the Boba Fett arch. It isn't that he can't go full-on anymore. He has matured and learned that turning a place to ash isn't always the best alternative. When he has no choice 'Boba vs. Stormtroppers in Mandalorian,' then he regresses and makes the example.

Andor created an whole feeling about the Empire ( a dreadful tyranny, the tension that was emerging from the soul of the citizens) and established why the rebels were formed and fought so hard against this dictatorship regime. Best writing (a simple plot that gained such a meaning), fabulous actors (they were not the classic stereotypes; but boy they deliver every line so real) with a low budget and that was amazing. As a standalone series (without jokes), it's good. There are intrigues and interesting situations with the main character. One of the main themes for Casian Andor coming from rogue one is how the lines of morality are blurred on both sides in war time, and that there are good and bad folks on both sides, as well as atrocities committed in the name of “freedom.” I also liked how it was a slow burn because, up until that point, much of Disney’s output for Star Wars was quick (if unsatisfying) “fan service” to try and appease people rather than crafting truly great storytelling. If they would’ve taken out one or two side plots and added a few more “Star wars-y” elements, it would be in A for sure.

Agree with Mando 3, take that out and I would give 1 & 2 an A also. The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch an S tier for me. Your tier ranking is almost spot on

Really enjoyed Andor because i feel like it takes itself seriously, more than the other shows. It doesnt have quipy one liners or rely on nostalgia.

Andor is by far S tier. Felt the most like Star Wars, had the best story, and amazing production, directing and acting. (Not every show needs to have fan service every episode to keep you hooked, sorry theory)

    My ranking:
    S tier: CW Mando
A tier- Andor, tales of the Jedi, Ahsoka (all will potentially move once more seasons come out.)
B Tier-Rebels bad batch (both solid shows)
    C Tier-Kenobi
    D Tier- BOBF
Haven’t watched resistance or 2003 clone wars. I love everything A tier and up. Andor will quickly become s tier if season 2 is just as good.

Andor is S tier and peak star wars.
Yes, it doesn't feel like star wars but that's exactly why people love it.
Its a new and fresh direction for star wars. The writing is miles better than any of the other Disney star wars shows.

Agree with you on pretty much anything. Except Andor. Man, what a show! The writing, the acting, the depth of the characters, the cinematography... For me it's an S-tier without the shadow of a doubt. Best thing Disney has released.

I would agree with Clone wars and the original 6 being the complete Starwars story, but I think I'd add Rouge One to that list. It really just fills in a cool gap in starwars without destroying the mystery of how Anakin developed into Vader. I like shows that keep things speculatory and not showing a mediocre version of how they changed. All we need for Vader really is Episode 3 and then episode 4.

Decent list, i'd personally move obi-wan to c for the Vader vs obi wan battle alone and haydens representation of vaders hatred for obi wan was incredible. Andor and rebels deserves A tier as well imo. Nice list man!

At least Andor doesn’t feel silly and stupid like all the other new star wars. The fighting is just so bad. Its hard to get over for me but I love Star Wars and it’s always been one of my biggest hobbies. I’m so sad rn man. Star Wars is in a bad place although Ashoka was ok
