I’ve had many Lexus vehicles over the years including but not limited to the GX460, LX470 and LX570. However, I’ve never been as excited to purchase one as I am the new 550. For some reason, it stirs the soul and I’m at the top of the waiting list at my local dealer. Well done Lexus.
@@paulphillips8367 for me… it’s adding two turbo’s to the equation. There isn’t enough of a gain in mileage to warrant going this route. I would have preferred the old naturally aspirated V8 over this. However, if the hybrid comes out and pushes close to 30mpg or more…. that would get my vote hands down!
@beri232…. I couldn’t agree more. I would have much rather had a naturally aspirated V8 than introducing turbos into the equation. However, turbos have been around for a long long time and I’m confident that Lexus is putting out a quality engine. Fingers crossed.
Can't wait to get the Overtrail+!! I love the look and the technology behind it. I had the Toyota FJ Trail Teams and I miss it. I think this will be a worthy successor.
That is an amazing looking SUV from Lexus. I’m a little disappointed in the interior and the rear windshield wiper could have been placed in a better spot but these two minor gripes aside it’s still a gorgeous looking car. Perhaps one of the best looking ones coming out in awhile. Love the handsome no nonsense boxy design.
I have a 2023 RX with the rear wiper under the spoiler at the top of the rear window. There are pros and cons. It looks cleaner, aesthetically and literally since the dust doesn't collect on it and I'm guessing being covered by the rear spoiler helps reduce sun exposure to the rubber wiper blade giving it quite a bit longer useful life as the rubber will stay supple and flexible longer. However in practice with the inverted wiper arc I can see the sky pretty well but not the road behind me since only the lowest point of the arc shows the road and even then, barely. I have the digital rearview mirror I guess so not a big deal. I don't think it's worth losing sleep over either way. What about the interior are you disappointed in? I've seen the leaked pricing and it looks like $80k for a decent option package (Overtrail Plus or Luxury Plus) and yeah apparently $80k doesn't buy what it used to interior wise.
Hopefully it doesn't have a battery take up a ton of room like the Toyota Sequoia where the 3rd row doesn't fold flush with the floor. That's just ridiculous for hauling usability.
I have owned 1 European sports sedan. After that I said I would not own another luxury brand except Lexus. Not jumping in line but I do like the GX and the new one looks good. Do want to know the towing capacity and see a few of the details before buying.
just need to find one that is honest. For me I found it in Tulsa,OK because in Texas everyone wanted to charge 2000-4000 dollars in extras I didnt want.
What a great vehicle, but its a shame though there is no Hybrid. This does 17 MPG combined which is pretty abysmal. Even Tundra does better then this at 20MPG.
As an owner of a 2019 LX570 and a 2000 Land Cruiser, very rarely have I ever gone on to any surface more distressed than a poorly maintained dirt road or a deeply covered snow packed back road… the previous GX models were mostly driven by suburban moms and I’d wager that the new models will follow in that manner - thus all the talk about off-road capabilities is pretty much just marketing and PR talk
Luxury + trim level has a dynamic sky panoramic glass roof which doesn't open but has has a feature to allow it to switch either clear or opaque via a button in the overhead console. Lower trim levels have the more standard power moonroof.
⚠️MAJOR DEAL BREAKER: Lexus Discontinued the Rear Self Leveling Air Suspension, a major Lexus engineering blunder which is going to hurt sales. In fact, since the Lexus GX460 Luxury with the Off Road Package and standard self leveling rear air suspension is no longer built and GX550 doesn’t have self leveling rear air suspension, I am now going to purchase the GMC Yukon I6 diesel with 4 corner air suspension, advanced off road and towing packages which has superior performance, fuel economy and value in all categories.🙂
Ok, Lexus here me out. Great design. However, the third row seat is cramped compared to Jeep Wagoneer. There is a RUclips video with a reviewer with his knees to his chest sitting in the third row. The American market is wants a stretch version comparable to Chevy Suburban. Unlike Japan, Americans like vehicles with lots of cargo room.
