1986. The year that the T.P.I. 305 got the peanut cam, and the horsepower went in the tank. The 85's had 25 h.p. more than the 86 models, and were quite a bit faster. EPA BS killed the performance, until Chevy finally added a 5 speed manual to the 5.0 T.P.I. IROC Z in 1987, and a better cam was installed in manual models only.
As Collision repair tech back in the day,,,these uni body structure of these cars is extremely flexible, especially in the corners, not a desired type of chassis's, however they look really cool.
Incorrect…the 1986/7 LB9 had 215hp as a manual and 190hp as an automatic, which this car is. Even the base LG4 V8 had 155hp. www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-stories/engine/camaro-engines-through-the-years-third-generation/

correct. but at this point even the 5.7 HO is outgunned by every new car so it really doesn’t matter to much.

Too bad almost every car uses a unibody today then. Body-on-Frame was never efficient.
Are these good for drifting ?
What is that color. Do you know
That car brand new in 86 had 145 horse power

Ok then i must of been reading the base model
@@stebensbobby no worries man…I had to educate myself on them before the auction started. So many engine choices compared to todays cars.
Does that car have the tune port injection
@@stebensbobby yes…5.0 TPI. It’s coded as the LB9 engine.
They were underrated due to insurance ratings in the 80's, the tuned port version was probably in the 300 HP range
