    Hahah got to love that Q I remember the first time I got to ride in the Capt seat as a firefighter , the driver looked at me and told me if you take your foot off that Q petal more than 3 seconds I’ll reach across and slap you. 😂😂 I learned from that day forward you can never have to much Q siren !! Stomp that petal!!

    • @WindseekerWX
      @WindseekerWX 3 года назад +37

      Until you get it too hot and burn the bearings out and you’re stuck paying hundreds of dollars to fix it. Sirens are supposed to fluctuate in sound anyway. Won’t grab any more attention from traffic sounding like an idiot holding the q down forever than when you let it go up and down

      @@whistlingtomb3299 Actually he's right. Just keeping the Q peaked for extended periods of time does nothing for "warning" drivers". Although it's loud, it can get drown out (not to mention can damage the unit after a white). That's why it should fluctuate in tones and frequencies. By doing so, it goes through all different tones & pitches to grab more attention. Wish more people realized this. Like seriously, take an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course.

      Poor use of the Q. Purpose of the Q is not to stand on and hold it. Winding it up to full then letting it come back down is the proper use. Screaming Q just holds one tone and is not as useful.

      @Fire-Rescue50  6 лет назад +5

    • @JohnHallgren
      @JohnHallgren 4 года назад

      Not 100% sure but depending on frame rate of recording, it can appear to be faster than actual truck speed was. I don’t think they were going quite the speed that it seems.
      Saw a couple of other handheld videos from rear seat of fire trucks that appear normal speed so better quality video equipment used. Dashcam have to record hours of video so use lower frame rates making vehicle speed higher as result.

    Why did you have to travel so far across country to get to what looks like another community? Don't they have their own fire dept? Just wondering.

      bgorveatt Yes they have their own fire department that was there, but on a working fire, it brings in much more

      I have no idea exactly how many depts were involved, but I know WHERE that call is. Assuming it was a second alarm(Which I would presume it would HAVE to be 2nd alarm to get 50 out there), that would include Fire Companies 63, 41, 62, 48, 64, 43, 204, 54, 50, and maybe 60 and 90.

      It's called Mutual Aid. If a department gets too many incidents to handle or one giant incident that depletes their resources, they call other departments for help.

      Skankpronger We were dispatched for more manpower on station 63's working fire dispatch. The crew did some overhaul work before clearing, since other departments were depleting their manpower.
