Cable planning, management and termination is greatly under appreciated by so many .... the devil is in the detail 😎

I'm not even vaguely interested in car audio but I still find myself watching these videos. And less than two minutes in I got value out of it by discovering rivet nuts, which might come in very handy to secure my homemade 'toolboxes' in the boot of my car.

I am new to your channel. Love all your videos. My one complaint is that you never show the finished products when you are done.I would also love to see a video on how to plan a system using a factory head unit and why you should either connect to the factory amp or bypass and connect to the head unit using dal-alink maestro system. pros and cons.

Looks great as always Mark. i think 2019 I need to step up my router game. I bought a bulky black and decker one a while back. Think a nice palm one should do the trick.

My question is about the ferrules used and linked. Some reviews on Amazon say the ferrules are undersized. But watching you slide them on seems easy. Did you have to do anything special to get them on or are the Amazon comments wrong?

Is It safe to run (1) 4 gauge in & (2) 4 gauge out from a distribution block or should i only go 0 gauge in to multiple 4 gauge out?.... running a 4ch amp and sub amp on 2 12in CVRs

    • @jamesf9610
      @jamesf9610 5 лет назад +1

Is it safe ?? Yes it's safe! Now depending on how powerful the amps are will depend on whether you will suffer a voltage drop or not. If your running a couple of 300-400 watt amps ehhh probably won't suffer too much drop. If the amps are any bigger it's a very good chance of significant drop and I would suggest at least a 2 awg into the district block.

What is the best way to connect the 4ga power and 4ga ground wires to Rockford Fosgate Punch amps which use Phillips head screws that tighten a square-type area where the wires attach to the amp....

Your knowledge is amazing! They say on the internet you should not ground at the same point? But I would do it the same way you did in this video with a distribution block. Where or how did you learn all of this knowledge? Lol - Keep up the great work!!!! ❤👍

  • @JZ-tg1cm

Only critique, and I know its superfluous... Run the ground back to the battery, not the local chassis point. No chance of noise that way for the cost of a low gauge cable and the labor of course.

For compact active subwoofer (underseat), tp be precise is Blaupunkt GTR 130A, is it ok if connect the power(yellow) wire to the power wire of headunit? Not direct to the positive terminal of battery. Is it enough power for the active subwoofer?

I installed my LCI7 LOC and PolkAudio amplifier in the boots and I run power cables and signal cables together in the same channel . I got whistling noises in the speakers when accelerating 😭.
Does it happening because the cables are run together ? Should I separate them or could it be other issues?

Mark, great video. But I noticed that at 7:57 in the video that you did not remove the paint under the threaded grounding stud that you attached your large ground cable to with the ring terminal.
For a connection with that much potential current capacity, you definitely need to remove the paint with sand paper or a wire brush so that you have plenty of clean, bare metal on the vehicle's chassis where you connect your ground wire.
After making the connection, I would also protect it by using anti-rust paint or dielectric grease to prevent the possibility of corrosion or oxidation.

You are getting engine noise. Try running the power wire down one side of the car and the rca cables down the other side separating them. Also make sure you have high quality insulated rca cables. And one more very likely cause is the ground. Make sure you have the ground wire mounted to the most solid piece of steel you can a direct frame connection is best also make sure you have a nice sanded smooth spot where the ground is mounted to the frame.

Hey man, quick question hope you could help out. Would you happen to know why my new rear car speakers that I installed wouldn't power up even though the front oem ones produced sound fine?

First off did the rear speakers work at all before you changed them or is that the reason you changed them. If the old ones didn't work then you might have a broken connection somewhere. If he old ones did work I'd recheck your connections where you added the new speakers maybe even try and see if any other speaker will work hooked up to those wires. It's also possible you got a bad new set of speakers or very unlikely idea if you got an extremely high dollar very powerful set of speakers the head unit might not be powerful enough to run them. Just a few options to maybe try.

The rear deck on my 2014 Honda accord has a lot of rattling near the speakers and third but nothing has worked so far. Can you make video on how to sound deaden the rear deck of a sedan car with a third light.

Got to pull the rear deck paneling up and put sound deadening mat under it all.

Later it in as thick as you can and still be able to reinstall the deck panel

Did you say tinned ofc? Wouldn't that be cca?

No. CCA is aluminum with a copper coating. (Copper clad aluminum) The tinned OFC is pure copper with a layer of protection to prevent oxidation. Great for marine and automotive environments.
