Right on! The look on Wesley’s face when the beat was hitting was exactly why we all love some good slamming bass. It makes all the blood, sweat, money, and tears worth it. Trying to get my Tahoe right at the moment, but seeing this helps me keep pushing.
What a great job you did with both builds. The first build was the box that came out amazing. The second build is this video that is absolutely awesome, thank you bass head.
Whenever I laminate sheets of plywood together like that I start off by oversizing them at least a quarter of an inch because they drift around during the glue up. After the glue sets I take it back to saw to cut to final size. Glad to see that you do the same.
I love to See the happy faces with a new Box. Even a month before i Designed a New Box for a friend. The sub Was quite good but the old Box was just crap. Is Just had some wood and didnt need it so i measured his trunk and build him a New Box tuned at 36 Hz and the difference was impressive and to See him smile over the Sound Just made Me so happy
28:41 I can totally relate to his smile when the bass kicked in. That's how I felt when I put my 20yr Fosgate hx2s in another box and realized how much better they sounded with the new box.
@um me you're so wrong man! Fosgate subs and amps from the 90s and early 2000s are amazing products. Once they started making shit in china is when they went down. But to say they were good only in the 80s...you're so wrong. I belong to a fosgate facebook group and all the gear from the 90s and early 2000s are so highly regarded and sought after.
Thanks for the video!!! I just built one half the side for a home make 12in. sub. That I bought at a fleet market in Chicago. 8 years ago.An your box brought it to life. Thanks...

quarter the way through and extremely jelly that your friend helped with the table saw. my $21 HF jigsaw with scroll blade was awful and it was my first time making rip cuts and with a power tool! Lesson: wrong jigsaw blade, ditch the homemade guide and focus on the drawn line. Still, uneven cuts seemed to seal nicely at 28x14x14. I'm old so my amp tuning is around 55% full tilt lol. Tip: check out the port area calc on SMD forum for even tonality from 25-100hz. Wasn't planning my 2cubed to be nearly 17" deep but it worked out.
😌 loved the video. It took me back 20 years ago when I was doing some boxes, obviously not this great, I was only using a hand saw ( not electrical) and screwdriver... even I was doing it for some friends too it was fun. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
Ive never went with a 42" length port, i always used 30" and under. I wonder what the difference in sound would be with such a long port but still at the same tuning range. Short port vs long ports? Of course their is figuring port vs net of box for the tune but hmm 🤔
When I had nothing better to do I installed systems in my car. Then when my son got a little older his car and then his friend's cars. After doing this for years spending all kinds of money experimenting with different size components, amplifiers, crossovers, placement of speakers and everything that goes along with it. Wiring kits, fuses capacitors, upgraded alternators, upgraded wiring. I found that today's car stereos and speakers are a lot better than what they used to be years ago. The only thing that's really needed is a little bit of low end for those who really want it. Answer to that question is a name brand 10-in woofer in a box that's built by the manufacturer. Then you get a perfect match by people that do it on a computer there is no way on improving what they do. Then with an equally good quality name brand amplifier that's really all that's necessary. The days of me doing multiple amplifiers experimenting and spending all your money just to entertain the neighborhood is definitely over for me. The sound that's for me to listen to not the entertain my neighbors and for them to give me the evil eye every time I drive to my home. Do what you like maybe it's your turn to play the game.
