Happy 4th!!! Hope you enjoy this fun little bass project! Even after all the hilarious hiccups, it was still a great time hanging out and laughing 😃 Thanks for watching!!! Need car audio gear? Check out Showtime! showtimeelectronics.com/
More then anything. The best part of this is to see EXO has made yet another life long friend in Remy. Great to see you two work together outside the job. Car audio building friendships is such a great thing!
Looks like your flush trim bit might be burned up and creating way more heat than a sharp bit and overheating the bearing. Also you had the depth alittle shallow on the outside in a cpl of shots that might have hurt the first one but that many failing is crazy.
As a carpenter i can tell you how funny it is to see him using the router like that , you have to do it gradually not once :) but you have good videos anyway ,thats why i subscribed years ago.
Flush trim bits are not meant for cutting through wood, they’re designed to trim. I learned that the hard way myself. The bearing on my Bosch bit seized up, luckily it didn’t explode so I didn’t damage my project. Bought a replacement and haven’t had a problem since, it’s been several years now
EXO just is such a natural genuine person especially when he's working, he's a funny, genuine, funny, unique, joyful guy. You can't really find that nowadays..
pro tip. use smaler flush trim tool if going full cut like in 39:20 that big of a tool create a lot of friction and a lot of heat. and that bit you use is shot :P
Exo! Huge tip for carpeting, I ran a sub box business and carpeting seams was the hardest for sure. My biggest trick though, was having a can of black spray paint! Spray along where you are going to lay the carpet before gluing, and even if there is gaps, it will black to match the carpet and not look as bad. Hope this helps!
The trimmer is only meant to trim a tiny amount, make sure u cut with jigsaw as close to line as u can then use trimmer......the amount of heat and vibration is far to much work for the bearing cutter.........everyone has done the same m8
The biggest problem was actually that the bit wasn't deep enough. If you look at the very first trim he did on the baffle overhang there was a thin piece of wood left all the way around the perimeter of the box that he had to sand off. That was wedging between the bearing and the bit causing lateral force which radial bearings can not handle. It is still a good idea to trim smaller amounts and don't use it for cutting, but that would not cause 5 or 6 bearing failures with that amount of cutting. he needs to drop the bit a little or get a longer flush trim bit if that isn't possible.
The drill press idea can work if you use the correct bit, the one you used had a screw tip to help the spade pull through 2x material. Use a holesaw bit
this is the best video i have ever seen. unedited raw and full of the same issues i have on every single box i have built. Thank you so much for sharing, i love your channel. i had to come back and edit this, because i literally made this post before you tried to chew hole in the side of the box with the router. lmaoo.. I love this video.. omg, i have had a lot of the same crap happen, and I curse out anything that's close enough to hear me. hahaha
CNC isn't lazy when you think about how much time it takes to learn how to design and program the machines. It's just a different tool but still takes work to use it properly
Watched the whole vid, super interesting to see the whole process. I built my first box with my friends dad who builds cabinets and has no idea about car audio. Just followed manufacture’s a sketch up diagram and turned out great. Getting ready to build a bigger better box now so it’s nice to see the whole process from someone who knows how to do it correctly
I just found your channel, enjoying watching this and it's bringing back memories from when I set the first world record in DB drag with a square kicker woofer in 2000, after which Alma Gates decided she'd switch over to the solo X's. Your Lowe's home Depot comment was funny, reminded me of my little truck I did a cut through from the back and went down to get some redwood decking and had the front seat out so I can slide the 12 foot boards all the way in against the footwell and they just fit where I could close the tailgate and I didn't realize how funny it looked until I looked over I saw a whole line of guys in the construction line looking at me like how in the world are you put in 12 foot boards into a 6-ft bed!?! It must have looked funny.
Huge love that you make videos for beginners. I've been messing around for years, but I almost always learn something when I see your vids. Keep it up, bro.
Hey EXO! Love your vids. Just a friendly suggestion, you may need to look into sharpening your flush trim bit. If you see smoke when cutting its a dull blade, that's why you see the dark spots on the plywood. Edit: I posted this right before the bearing blew up. The heat from dull blades can destroy the bearing. That's likely why it's blew up on you.
I'm always excited to see when you upload. Literally left home early and got the notification you uploaded. Can't wait to see a vid of progress on your van
I love how you said you just left Home Depot with Lowe's in the background. That is awesome to me and then I love the slam on the store not having someone there to cut the boards for you with the next shot was of you doing it yourself in the parking lot. I have enjoyed your content since you built Little Blue but this video made my day. To beat all it was an hour long as well!!! Thanks EXO for making my day special!!! You are great and I wish the best for you!!! I will be patiently waiting for your next video!!!
Sorry EXO! Ive been putting off watching the cideo because i havent had an hour to sit down and watch it! Cant wait to see more progress on the big build!
Heck yea exo! Always puts a smile on my face watching these. All the little behind the scene clips of you commentating over the router bearing issues. I just finished my 1989 Honda civics stereo with two psi platform 3 12s. All the bells and whistles, high power, carbon fiber, larger terminals, high roll surround, and the red f*ck it logo. Definitely the loudest or one of the loudest around southeast Idaho!
I came to these comments to say “stop asking for a DEAL” you guys see what this took and how mad someone can get. Not everything is easy. Nice video kool ppl ima subscribe
Im building a steel framed parallel tuned 6th order bandpass blowthrough and you are my biggest inspiration to tear out my perfectly dialed in ported setup for something more interesting. Me and my gf been watching sience franky
I just got an old L7 and needed a box and poof your video popped up nice to see a video on my feed again was thinking about you the other day see ya still having fun. Glad to see brother
Predrilling prevents the screws from following imperfections. Sure you saved a little time but at the expense of the boards integrity! Keep up the fun!
Happy 4th Exo & Remy . Cool box build 😎 One of things that's great about your channel , is you show mistakes and then explained what happened. You're honesty and good energy are always appreciated bud ! ! ! Bass On 💪😇👍
Gosh darn it. Use genuine name brand bearings for your router bits. NSK, NMB, maybe even Timken, INA, SKF and others. Save you from some pain. All in all it bangs! Hell yeah brother!!!
very nice place to live my man just found your channel and been watching alot of older vids learned alot already thanks for explaining what you do and making things funny as well nice job
That's a sexy box and an area like the port that's exposed if you take a lighter real quick and go around the cut edge it cleans up stragglers quite well
You should've ran the router around the port opening with a 3/4" round over bit. It looks better that way and it also reduces port noise. You can still do with the carpet on it if it's glued down tight or just trim it back a bit
Hey man, instead of a spade bit I'd recommend using a hole saw to get those radius' on the dowel :) Love your videos man, you do sometimes make me feel like you are the "Blippi" for car audio enthusiasts and I love that 😂
For something like that sub opening, I'd use a spiral bit with a few bearings on it. 12vtools sells one with 2 bearings and one with 4 or 5. A normal flush trim isn't really meant to cut through wood like that. Might have been contributing to the auto-speed-changine router.
I’ve been doing my best just got over one of the hardest times of my life, found out I had stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck aka head and neck cancer in 2021 and finally beat it last year, 7 rounds of chemo and 35 rounds of radiation, took a toll on my body but I am doing my best to get back up to where I was.
Nice nice. Thanks for the video. I got an old school Kicker Solo X 18. I’m tuned too 33 hertz. Using a Jp 2300 amp slamming on the Lows and Highs. Love it! Gave me some ideas thanks for the video!
My goodness that bass was bumpin. Now I’m sure my system is below par with 2x12s and bags of power. Guess it’s time for a custom made box for me! Awesome 😊
Nice job bro I get excited when I get a notification that u posted a video n can't wait till I get off work to watch it wish I had someone like u to help me with the dimensions n help build a box
23:48 I built a slot port box for a Rockford Fosgate T2 12 back in the mid 2000s like this. 2.4 cu ft. It was breathing good and rattling my old 94 Corolla to pieces. Lol
Seeing you missing some screws and not getting super straight cuts was a real comforter, i've been building boxes for so long but still have that happen from time to time always makes me feel like shit 😂 Great job as always my man!
Thank you for showing the whole video that was fun to watch. The only question I had I thought you said it was set up for 1 ohm? I went back and recheck the video and it was about 49:20 mark but you all were explaining the wiring. I did do realize I think it has to do with your amplifier also. I've always just love your energy just trying to give back just trying to help out and it's really really fun to watch keep up the good work.😊
EXO, you've got a nice little setup with your shop, I'm jealous! Anyways another great video bud. I really hope to meet you 1 of these days because I've learnt allot from you and your channel. Keep it up bro.
Happy 4th!!! Hope you enjoy this fun little bass project! Even after all the hilarious hiccups, it was still a great time hanging out and laughing 😃 Thanks for watching!!!

Hi love all your vids boggesy fan and thats one of my dream subs
I bondo mistakes that happened like that with bearings
You
Get you some 1/4inch spiral flush trim bits. They are hands down the best. The big ones you are use work good but the bearings don't like them speeds
What is the android box app?
Exo: "We just gotta out of home depot" *Lowes in the background*
WOOPS 😅
@EXOcontralto They're kind of the same thing. Hope you're having a great Day EXO!!!!
Lol, my thoughts exactly
Same shit
That's the first thing I noticed also lol.
More then anything. The best part of this is to see EXO has made yet another life long friend in Remy. Great to see you two work together outside the job. Car audio building friendships is such a great thing!
This is why I love watching these videos. Just some friends do a fun project! I'd hang out with these guys and have a fun time doing it.
Looks like your flush trim bit might be burned up and creating way more heat than a sharp bit and overheating the bearing. Also you had the depth alittle shallow on the outside in a cpl of shots that might have hurt the first one but that many failing is crazy.
I was just going to say that bit need to change 😅
The sound told me and then him adjusting the speed showed me it was spinning too fast.
As a carpenter i can tell you how funny it is to see him using the router like that , you have to do it gradually not once :) but you have good videos anyway ,thats why i subscribed years ago.

Exo is the man, I love how he is always helping everyone, Super humble and awesome dude.
good to see ya getting back to your roots EXO and hooking up a homie in the process doesn't get any better than that.
Трек в конце по радовал )👍
what i like about u bro, is the fact that u don't hide your mistakes. that helps us a lot. keep up the good work👊
Man, happy 4th buddy. Your positive energy is contagious. I really needed it today.
Appreciate you watching! Hope you have a great holiday tomorrow bro

This is why I like this kid, hand built… no cnc laziness.
Everyone wishes they could do CNC cutting. It's okay to cut by hand, but dissing the better option is just strange.
Don’t get me wrong guys CNC makes some clean stuff though.
CNC isn't lazy when you think about how much time it takes to learn how to design and program the machines. It's just a different tool but still takes work to use it properly
The Solox has surpassed all my expectations I absolutely love it. Great video bro💯👍

Can’t wait for the solo 15s to come out!
I’m tryna tell you
It was great to see y’all at XS power show. Thanks y’all for taking the time
Nice to see Exo working with a good friend.
Made my watch even better.

You gotta love the videos like this one thing after another going wrong with the build but still managed to pull out a good box and vid 👌🏻
Sweet build, guys!!! What a Blast!!! That thing was pounding for 1!! I can't wait to see the db test.
Dude ! The way you operate that router - Scares the crap out of me !! ( lol
🎶 I AIN'T EVA SCARED 😎 🎶
@@EXOcontralto Crazy !

OMG an hour of EXO... We are living good today boyz!!!
Bad days at the office happen to everyone. Fair play for still showing the video.
Huge love that you make videos for beginners. I've been messing around for years, but I almost always learn something when I see your vids. Keep it up, bro.

You're the best EXO. Enjoyed every minute.
Bass is an amazing thing. Good job exo.

Respect from Russia for the track on 51.00. Great project!!! Waiting for new videos
Predrilling prevents the screws from following imperfections. Sure you saved a little time but at the expense of the boards integrity! Keep up the fun!
Remy's next box will be a carpet mosaic finish. 😀
Great build guys! You really showed that it's about the culture and experience.
You do Fabulous builds bros, I like the humor, guys are fun !!
32:00 I usually use the flush trim bit to cut that out, but damn you have some steady hands to be able to cut it str8
What a great instructional video. I will be coming back to this in the future.
Glad to see Norfleet is looking good.
Love ya EXO❤
Good job on that custom bass box. I like it!👍👍👍👍👍
Happy 4th!!!! EXO weuuu! 😊

Happy 4th Exo & Remy . Cool box build 😎
One of things that's great about your channel , is you show mistakes and then explained what happened. You're honesty and good energy are always appreciated bud ! ! !
Bass On 💪😇👍
I'm getting more and more closer to having all of my pieces of the puzzle for my 3rd and last final rebuild up project
classic EXO content right here!!!!
Gosh darn it. Use genuine name brand bearings for your router bits. NSK, NMB, maybe even Timken, INA, SKF and others. Save you from some pain. All in all it bangs! Hell yeah brother!!!
Great video man I am always impressed by your wealth of knowledge
Wouldn't be a exo video without some chaos

I have my solo x 12 running on 3k in a civic si coupe. It absolutely slams!!!!! I love it!!😊
That Suicideboys/Pouya song hits so hard in my car! Nice choice on music!

I love it, the dynamic duo, excellent EXO video.
Awesome Build! We see that D3400 under the hood!
Let's go! Keep going bro
Nice nice. Thanks for the video.
I got an old school Kicker Solo X 18.
I’m tuned too 33 hertz. Using a
Jp 2300 amp slamming on the Lows and Highs. Love it! Gave me some ideas thanks for the video!

23:48 I built a slot port box for a Rockford Fosgate T2 12 back in the mid 2000s like this. 2.4 cu ft. It was breathing good and rattling my old 94 Corolla to pieces. Lol
Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
The results are amazing 💪🏾🔥
Love Blonde Wood. Used it for years, and just looks great as well.
I had that same kicker set up pulled out the kickers and threw in 2 skar sdrs and that box is literally perfect for them
Really cool video, and what an cool friend you got there. really cool bassing also.
Hell yea!! Taking it back to the roots. Simple box build.
I definitely want to see that thing on a meter! for a single sub on 1200 watts its lookin loud!
2:15 In a million years, I would have never thought to do that.
Seeing you missing some screws and not getting super straight cuts was a real comforter, i've been building boxes for so long but still have that happen from time to time always makes me feel like shit 😂
Great job as always my man!
Didn’t think you were a fan of L7. Love your shows bro
Thank you for showing the whole video that was fun to watch. The only question I had I thought you said it was set up for 1 ohm? I went back and recheck the video and it was about 49:20 mark but you all were explaining the wiring. I did do realize I think it has to do with your amplifier also. EXO, you've got a nice little setup with your shop, I'm jealous! Anyways another great video bud. I really hope to meet you 1 of these days because I've learnt allot from you and your channel. Keep it up bro.
It's nice to hear a Russian artist)
Dabro - Улетай на крыльях ветра
Greetings from Russia / Привет из России :)
You should use a spiral cutting bit in the future. You can get with bearing or without.
