  • Are you sick and tired of getting those annoying trouble codes such as F1, ul, lid, sud, F53, F58...and many more. Here is a self test for your hE washer that will first list all of the trouble codes then complete a nine step self diagnostic check of all of the washer features from add a garment to wash complete. It only takes five minutes and will save you tons of money by catching an issue early. What to do if you find an issue? Call 1-800-4-MYHOME for Sears Kennore Products and purchase a 1 year Master Protection Agreement for $220 which covers both your Oasis washer and dryer. When calling, Sears will ask if the washer is operating properly, you answer yes. NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT I AM TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE THE MPA AND WILL HAVE TO PAY UPWARDS OF $600. With the MPA you can call Sears as many times as you like to clean your washer, do a self check, and repair or replace your washer if it is unrepairable.

    Excellent video! Many of the new machines have this mode just to help troubleshoot, and it is a huge time-saver. The key is to know how to activate it, and this video is very valuable for that. I was just able to nail down two problems with my machine that are simple fixes, but I don' t have to call Sears out to take care of either one.
    Note that if you have this style of washer with no spin speed button, you do the same thing with the water level button

    SUPER helpful video! Just finished replacing the spindle and washer hub on this exact same model which now is about 10yrs old. The instructions to run the diagnostic test were no longer in the machine (and not on Sears website) so this video was a great find. Thanks for posting it. And im glad you never took it down as you suggested many years ago, Seems like alot of us benefitted from it!

    Thank YOU!!! You're NOT a weirdo. This washer drives me nuts with F1 and UL. You helped me so much!

    • @bobbytoca
      @bobbytoca 4 года назад

      What does F1 mean?

    • @Sparks52
      @Sparks52 3 года назад +2

      @@bobbytoca "F1" means the sensor that determines water level isn't working properly. F68 is essentially the same code indicating the sensor is returning "out of range" values. The "F1" usually occurs when the washer is initially filling the tub under the rotating basket with water at the beginning of a wash cycle, or when beginning a rinse and spin when refilling the tub after having drained it. Cycling the stop/start as if you're adding more clothes will usually get past this when there's more water in the tub. The sensor is an air pressure sensor on the control board with a clear plastic air hose that goes from it to an "air dome" on the bottom of the fixed tub. If there's a leak in the system, or if the hose is pinched, or if the air pressure sensor on the board is bad, you'll get the "F1" error. First step is ensuring the plastic air hose isn't clogged by blowing through it. That sometimes fixes the problem. The hose being pinched, cut or the air dome being damaged is quite rare unless other work on the washer has damaged them. Care must be taken during tub strut replacement (right rear strut in particular) to avoid damaging/pinching the hose. Even drive shaft and bearing replacement shouldn't harm the hose or air dome. If you can blow air through the hose, and that doesn't fix it, it's very nearly always the air pressure sensor on the control board which requires replacing the board module. A remanufactured board costs about $100, with new ones going for $150 and up to over $200, depending on who you buy it from. It's worth ensuring the hose is clear and not damaged first. The average DIY'er who can take care when unplugging and plugging in a half-dozen or so cables from the board can do the job; there are locking tabs holding cable connectors in place to prevent vibration from loosening them. You need to push gently on them to allow the cable to unplug.
      The air pressure sensor itself can be removed and replaced on the control circuit board, but that's not a job for the average DIY'er (part costs about $25). Requires someone experienced with printed circuit board repair that can pull and replace integrated circuits on ESD sensitive boards without destroying the entire board by lifting/burning parts pads or ESD (electrostatic discharge) zapping ESD sensitive parts. ESDt damage can be done without even feeling it. A guy with a soldering gun who's soldered wires together isn't qualified to do the job, and you'll end up replacing the entire control board after wasting time and money on the part.

    Dude,
    Mission accomplished. Your video helped a lot. I had a code that showed up but I knew I had a problem when mine quit draining. Mine had a bad drain pump.10 years of heavy use not to bad. This was my second repair in that ten years. The first repair was the tub bearing went bad after five years. My advice for anyone who owns one of these washers is if it is more than a year old is to disassemble the tub (remove the inner tub (what your clothes go into) from the outer tub ( the big tub the inner tub is in) and clean the entire tub. There is a plastic cover over the pumps intake that should be removed and cleaned as well. I was disgusted of how filthy mine was underneath the inner tub. If you have one of these washers and it smells bad then it is probably very dirty in places you can't reach without disassembling it and no amount of clean cycles or cleaning products can clean one of these machines due to their poor design. If you're not equipped to dismantling it ( big nasty job) then you better off to buy a new machine because I doubt you would ever find a repair man to clean one of these dirt traps to a sanitized state for less than you can buy a new machine and besides that even if you do get it cleaned it's just a matter of time before it gets filthy again. I apologise for the long comment but thought it might help you in return and maybe some of your viewers. Thanks for the very helpful video.

    Thank you for this really helpful video. I have just replaced the bearings and the motor stator (cracked in two places, roughly diagonally opposite one another, which I think must be a design problem). Total cost of parts, including a bearing press kit, was about $200. Another youtube video recommended running the diagnostics before placing the machine back in normal use. I.e. your video really helped me do that. From a Crazy Brit to a "a weirdo" it's really much appreciated. Thanks again.

Now I can run through diagnostics before calling Sears and maybe they can bring a part with them instead of the usual "we will deliver it to your house then you call the service guy to return and install it two weeks later". They have driven me nuts over the years with their inefficiency. I could fix things myself but am disabled now so I can only do light quick repairs. Thank you for posting this video...not lame at all! I bought this type washer used and I don't have a manual so I have been trying to figure out why the machine is not draining and came across this useful information to at least run a diagnostic.

    Thank you for your vid.! I was able to test my machine I followed your instructions and I was able to see they was something wrong with the draining I was getting F 32 code. Which means something wrong with the draining pipe... from my experience if you get this code check the pipe from back of washer mine had a sock stuck in pipe! Thanks again this videos was super helpful.

    Thank you for the lengthy video, I will try mine today. It constantly gets unleveled taking 5 hours to wash one load. Towels are starting to be a huge issue from 1-2 added to a load to a whole load of towels, Im so hoping this is an easy fix. God Bless people like you, thank you for sharing.

    So true. The frustrating part of the recall was many of the people who are elegible for a free ECU and control unit did not receive the recall notice due to a clerical error. Your advice is fantastic. Totally call with your serial number ready and inquire about the recall, even if your machine is working fine. You're entitled to a free replacement regardless of the operation of the machine.

      I bought mine about 10 years ago and my EC board gave out after 2 years. Called Sears Repair and the guy came out and said their EC boards were defective and they know about their bad boards. They replaced it for free. You might have the same problem.
