- In this video I show to fix a kenmore elite oasis/whirlpool cabrio washer that is displaying a DL code. The video goes into detail on how to replace the door lock mechanism as well as discussing other reasons for the DL code. The DL code occurs when there is an issue with the door lock mechanism of a washer. The model used in the video is a Kenmore Elite Oasis model# 110.28062800 . The lid lock is part number W10059230. Good video on how to replace it but, It was an assumption a replacement of the lid lock would work. To save some time if it wasn’t the switch, I would remove console and swap the lid lock switch connector temporarily and raise the lid , then insert it in the catch to test your concept. Just an idea!
Good idea! Yes I typically do that type of testing off camera to diagnose the problem without exposing the viewers to methods that might not be safe (electricial/mechanical hazards)

So i have a washer like this that will cycle through a diagnosis program, but when it's done, it will not power on at all.
where does one get the part?
Thank you so much for this video. I have a du code on this same machine that won't shut off. So I can't even get to set up the diagnostic cycle! du is door unlock? But it is unlocked already. Nothing will stop this code, no unplugging, even shut off breaker. It just comes back to du. Have had repair man replace the door sensor once a few years back. Cannot afford that again! So, is there any way of clearing this code before replacing the part or it won't clear until the part is replaced? I really wanted to do a diagnostic before replacing the part. I'm doing this myself. I did clear it for 5 min once when I held down the start and stop buttons together. But the du code came back after re starting a wash. And it won't clear now doing that action.
My washer started showing the DL code, then went to DU. I replaced the lid lock as you did in this video but the DU error is still there. Any idea where to go next?

Wondering if the big dent on front of machine had anything to do with the DL code. The dent was near the lid lock mechanism and may have damaged it. Maybe?
That I possible but nothing seemed mechanically damaged in the mechanism I believe the solenoid burned out

Anyway to bypass the lock all together? This would be our second time replacing it.
Unfortunately, you can't bypass the lid lock on these models

I have a Kenmore connect front loader & have a drain pump problem but now the code just reads AAA and can't hit anything else then I have a question about a Della mini washer the order the wires go into each plug so both washer and dryer work together, I got it from a friend and only dryer spin worked & a cpl wires were disconnected so now my washer works bit not dryer spinner
Honestly, I very seldomly work on front loaders. They are too heavy and often times too expensive to repair.

I have a speed queen washer it makes a grinding noise on the spin cycle what could that be?

These lidlock mechanisms suck. I am doing my second replacement after another 7 to 8 years. Not sure if i should fix it & get rid of this machine. The piece went up in price too. Unbelievable
@@TheGohthecrow honestly 2nd one after 8 years? Is not bad at all. I have seen brand new machines be unfixable after 8 months!
@DuctTapeMechanic the first time was a DU error, now it's the DL code so I figured it was this piece again because the machine washes flawlessly which is what impresses me after owning it probably a little over 2 decades. You're probably right, it could be worse damage I'd deal with but kind of odd that a door lid is an issue.
My washer is blinking after calibration. The sensing wash. And done
