Just what I was looking for. The manual is not very descriptive on the parts. I changed two other fuse items and found out they were for the heating element as Thermofuses. When I watched your video and saw this fuse, I immediately removed the front and found this crazy thing. Changed it out with a new fuse and "Eurika!!" my dryer is back up and running again. No spending any extra less than 40.00 for this repair. Thanks again!!

Thank you for your video! I had the repair guy come over and he said he could replace that piece or I can buy a new dryer, as he doesn't know how long the dryer will be able to withstand after he repairs it. I am going to try and fix it myself.

Awesome, just checked out my inop dryer using the jumper method to bypass the thermal fuse and it fired right up. Ordering new fuse in the morning, once it arrives, will install and ops check. Found lots of lint and debris inside the dryer area, cleaned everything thoroughly. Recommend you take door assy, back panel, and filter housing off every 2-3 years to keep dryer working effectively and efficiently. Thanks TampaApplianceRepair for making me a hero!

Thanks for sharing your repairs man. I have a slightly different model but low and behold, when I Ohm'd it out it was the fuse, just like you showed. Million thanks!

This video was very helpful. I replaced the thermal fuse and my error went away as well. First the probability that the wired connections have come loose are extremely low -- these are state of art fasteners that need to be prided apart with considerable effort. So don't waste too much time worried about that -- I just visually checked and moved on to the thermal fuse. I have a caution regarding your multi-meter use -- when I tested it the test showed there was still a connection which was a similar to the reading on the brand new part that I ordered. A positive test may not mean the part is not the issue -- it could still no longer be working within operational spec. My issue was an intermittent one that progressively got worse over time. Sometimes after 4 attempts it would run for a while before resuming the F40 fault. Now that I replaced the thermal fuse -- I don't get that fault any more and the dryer is working within spec. I would also encourage you to take the opportunity to thoroughly clean all the dust and lint out of your dryer for operational and safety (fire mitigation) reasons. I found the combination of dusty wands and a vacuum cleaner to work the best. Again great video clip should help everyone. Peace out!

Fantastic!! Our dryer has been giving us the F40 code for years. We would just unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and it would work again. Then... last night it finally gave up and stopped blowing hot air. I think its this fuse that took a dump. For $13 I'm going to replace it and see if that helps. Fingers crossed!

It was actually the connector on this one I was repairing. The 3 wire blue connector was barely unplugged on the main board side. Pushed it in until it snapped in and it worked. Must’ve been that way since it was new and finally came loose enough to not make the connection.

I fixed my dryer, thank you for helpful video. But now my dryer is doing this weird thing where it shut off at the certain minutes. Sometimes it would auto restart and sometimes it doesn't. What should I do? I check online and people mention about the moisture sensor or the motor.

I’ve had that problem when the clothes are very wet it shuts off. One solution I found was to throw in a large dry beach towel along with the wet clothes and usually works.

My Elite dryer threw an AF code forever. I didn't know what it meant. I had my friend go ahead and replace the thermal fuse. My dryer is now in working order, thank you so much for this video. I am concerned about the lint trap. The plastic front part is pulling to the inside of the dryer, toward the drum. The dryer has been getting very hot on the medium setting. Would you know what it could be? Could I have hooked the wires backwards down inside the lint trap?

I always recommend to search for part by Model number, and in this website you can search it by either Appliance Model Number or Part number.
