Big mistake taking 4th gear and not holding 3rd
As far as i am aware these are genuine Recaro seats fitted from factory. Despite what many keyboard warriors are saying in comments, They are fitted correctly and bolted to the floor correctly,
wow. kudos to your passenger. fully on the ball for someone who just nutted the parcel shelf. hope no long term injury was sustained.

Hope everyone was okay. The driver looked as if he was knocked out for a moment. That was a night in the hospital and two weeks at home.
WoW!! SHOCKING footage ! You were lucky to have been able to upload it (brain injury) !! Just goes to show how important helmets are and Racing harnesses are on a track day. The seat collapsed because the passenger sledge hammered into it because he was pivoted by the seat belt on his left shoulder. If you had fitted racing harnesses then the seat would not have collapsed on one side (I don't think) Glad you are both OK and your friend is a true hero !! I hope you havnt been put off track days after this event - but if it happened to me I might have been ! I wish you both well :0)

Love the way the seat falls apart. And the seat belt is useless. And his confidence is way too high. But the passenger is the star of the show.

This is why you don't use a two piece seat in a race car. Recaro or not they can't survive that kind of impact. One piece only.

I'm shocked, surely something's not right with the design if they were fitted properly (see from the comments this happened to another dc..?) I have a cheap bucket drivers seat now I'm scared... But I did bolt it in myself... oh, now I'm even more scared.

Yeah it’s genuine recaro, I don’t get why people are surprised it broke though. The factory seats are NOT race spec safety seats, the car is a road car NOT a race car built to be safe on a race track. I just hope you guys learned the importance of prepping a road car to be safe on the track. The two tracks I go to do not let you on the track without a roll cage, helmet, and harnessed seat at all. Be safe out there.

Was the passenger seat held in with bolts made from cheese ? I'd be having a very large word with whoever fitted that, real PRONTO FFS !!!

Seats have been swapped sides. What else has been done to them?
Assuming that Integra has the 6 speed transmission, definitely no higher than 3rd gear for that corner. I couldn't tell from the video, but it looked like you turned in a little too early as well. Otherwise you likely could have made it through right on the edge of the track.
Its a five speed. I had one, gearing is really short, Third sounds about right for that corner
For that left hander you're supposed to have a short stab of brake before turning, He barely lifted off the gas at all! Scary stuff.

Those seats were very safe
Integras are lethal, they lure you into a false pretence of a good handling car then BOOM the back end steps out and carnage follows. Heard so many horror stories regarding them including someone who sadly lost their life.
Lost control of my first Integra the exact same way. Was taking a bend a little quick and I made the mistake of taking my foot off the gas this sending the back end out oversteer and my then it was too late. I was headed straight for the wall.. I lived. Rip integra.

@@joer7732 Me too I lost my EG with the exact same situation: dropping from 5th to 4th gear at a downhill slope turn at 150km/h, rear wheel lost traction and swayed, wasn't able to save it despite 3 counter steers and totalled from the rear. The rear tyres of these FF cars are notoriously well known to lose traction if given too much speed when cornering
It’s a fwd car. You need to floor the gas and it will point the correct direction
