I've loved Jackson Brown's beautiful songs since the 1970'S. He touched my life enormously. Now a proud grandma living in Europe. I went and grew some fine seeds of my own. This fine poet has amplified my will to exist and accept my time here. I'm a dancer.
I have been in love with Jackson since 1980 when I was 13. His music has gotten me through some of the worst times in my life. I met him with my sister in 1994 backstage at the Concord Pavilion all I could say to him was will you marry me? He giggled and said he couldn't right then but how about a hug? It was magical!
One of my all-time rock heroes eloquently praising one of my all-time rock poets and I can't help but smile. I can't imagine my musical youth without either one of them.
Jackson Browne has been a great American poet - one of the best - for so many years. True to his beliefs, but never pushed them on anyone - he just writes what he feels. I'm sure we don't agree on a lot of things, but I respect him immensely. A fan for over 40 years.
Jackson Browne is so underrated, his music is beautiful, he always talks about environmental issues, and has put up with a lot of nasty rumors, and copyright infringement without ever being rude, he made it known musicians have rights. He's so laid back and wonderful to have lifelong friends like Lindley and Springsteen. I'm glad he FINALLY got inducted!

I have been a fan of Jackson's since I was 13 and saw him for the first time at the Oakland coliseum. He truly writes from the heart and soul. You are so right about him handling his personal life with dignity. Just listen to I'm Alive.
I am almost 60 years old now. I have never cared for Springsteen, ever, and always thought he was way over-rated, but this speech (and I watched in live at the time) changed my perception of him forever. What a wonderful tribute to one of the greatest poets and songwriters of the 20th century.

When I was about 6 years old, my mom walked in my room and found me singing Take It Easy as loud as possible while brushing my hair. I’m a 21 year old grown woman who’s been fortunate enough to see Jackson Browne and Bruce live, and I still sing my lungs out to their entire catalogs
The Boss, Jackson, Neil so many. I lived it, thank GOD I am so lucky to have seen and heard them. We were a lucky group of late hippies. I am thankful.
I bought tickets for Jackson's show at the Beacon the night after his induction. I knew Bruce would show up and i ended up standing next to him for three songs. Of course he played a few with him!
That was a very well spoken introduction. I was already a fan of Mr. Browne's music, but I was very pleased to hear how a fellow musician and good friend of Mr. Browne viewed his work as a songwriter. Thank You Mr. Springsteen.
Jackson is the consummate lyrical songwriter. His poetry transforms every song into a work of art, carrying deep emotions that ring true in almost everyone who has a heart and soul a resonance that we all have come to love so well.....
As a teenage girl back in the mid-70’s I certainly remember having a crush on Jackson and the other girls in high school liked his good looks too. Of course, we all enjoyed his music and bought albums!! It’s not a surprise his shows were filled with pretty girls who liked him.
An outstanding job Bruce inducting Jackson into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Bruce’s style, insights, and humor epitomize what Jackson’s fans would hope for and expect when such a great talent is immortalized for his devotion and excellence to music.
Absolutely. He said the same about Tom Petty in the context of the Bogdanovich doc Runnin Down a Dream. What never ceases to move me is that Jackson Browne, Springsteen and Tom Petty, who on the surface of things did not have a lot in common, shared a genius for conveying emotion through the medium of music that will move us all forever. And I am grateful that they are-were in the world.. Greetings to all.
No words to explain how much Jackson means to all of us! One of a kind lyrics straight from his heart. We all knew it and felt it. So many tears, so many smiles made by this poet, musician, and beautiful soul has touched so many..
Jackson Browne is so very underrated. Such a powerful, brilliant, lyricist, piano player, composer, singer, friend, humanitarian, gentle soul. One of the greatest of all time. That's some speech. I wonder if he'll do that for me if I ever win anything! Seriously, you can tell there is so much admiration between these two guys.

About half-way through Bruce calls out Jackson's album, "Late for the Sky." Especially for those too young to have ever heard that album, as fine an album as you'll ever hear, released in 1974, you can find it on RUclips. For me, 20 years old then, in college, an album that deepened my life, made me think, helped me weather those days ("These Days") of expansion, heartbreak, uncertainty, etc. Jackson Browne, he speaks for himself.
Just a little bit longer anthem was huge, and the story line speaks for many generations of bands working to make it big. Just a great song and story line.
Years ago I dated a girl from Philly. This was about 1978 or 79. For her birthday I gave her 2 things, the Late For The Sky album and a Steelers licence plate.
What a cool analogy Bruce used about Brian Wilson and the Gal from "Caroline No" producing Jackson and Warren Zevon. I would have never had that thought in my life, but it was pretty well right on! Great job, Bruce!!! Peace, Jim

I watch a lot of Springsteen videos on RUclips, so I presume their algorithms saw the connection between David Linley (slide guitar master and side man for Jackson Browne) and my affinity towards Springsteen's music, and recommended this video. I have seen Bruce's RRHOF induction of Jackson before, so I knew it was worth watching. What I didn't expect was realizing that I've totally missed out on Late For The Sky. Back in '74 when the album was released, I was a teenager too immature, and frankly too shallow, to enjoy Jackson's music. My earliest recollection of liking Jackson's music was the 1977 album Running on Empty, but I never bothered exploring his earlier music though or anything that wasn't regular radio fare. This was a time when it wasn't that easy to experience various types of music on a limited budget...again, I appreciate what RUclips has to offer (aside from the ads). But I digress. I'm in my 60s now and am anxious to "slide" into Late For The Sky, along with Jackson's other early music that I skipped.

See, I always knew Jackson Browne was 17 years older than me because in '65 he was 17 ... Yeah Running on empty was my jam. But NOW I realize he knew in his 30s what I only discovered in my 50s. I just LOVE the man, the music, the legend!😊
