Hey everyone, I’m the person in the video. Hello hello (: I want to thank Mark for giving me the opportunity to really tell part of my childhood, a life I tried so very hard to extinguish. All my life, I wanted to be believed and I wanted to grow into someone that not only would be on the track to heal, but would help my son live a life that would never be close to how I experienced mine. When you grow up with parents who are unhealed and damaging to everyone around, you understand (or try to understand) how they would ever hurt you or the people you love. Life has gotten easier and I’m finally in my dream career of being a tattoo artist. Im finally in a place where I can feel my wings open and all my wounds are healed. I may be scarred, but everytime I look at my little boy, I smile and and internally feel myself hold back a cry he wouldn’t understand right now..knowing one day he will watch this video and ask questions. He will watch this and understand why I tried so hard to be better than anything I could’ve ever been offered as a child. Scottie, when you’re old enough and you read and watch this… I want you to know that I love you so very much. You are the greatest thing to ever exist in this world and I hope you get to do whatever you want to do in your life (even if its being in a shark cage to finally meet a great white shark lol). You, my sweet bebae, are the reason I’ve taken every single generational curse that has been given to me and I’ve never been so thankful to be able to dismantle and rebuild something greater than us. You are the best thing, that’s ever been mine. Thank you, Mark. Thank you SWU. Take care and I love you all.

You're wonderful and you should be very proud of yourself. I believe it would help your sister to microdose as well, if not macrodose. Shrooms are so beneficial for that. Maybe someday she'll be able to come to terms with what she went through and you both can build the relationship that was stolen from you by the trauma your father caused. Never stop being who you are, you're so incredibly strong and beautiful. ❤️

I know right? We know that her healing has begun because she is able to be matter of fact. Some people have the idea that if someone is able to be articulate, then they must be lying. In fact thee exact opposite is true. When we are well into our healing process we are able to talk about our experiences coherently. Again,

You remind me so much of my Dad. He was also molested at a young age, as well as being sold as a young boy. He began having many flashbacks when I was born. He was the best Dad, despite the fact he struggled with what happened to him. He broke the cycle and I am so thankful for him. He also helped many other victims heal, because he so deeply understood their pain.

I experienced this. My mom's bf used to climb up the 2nd floor to my sister's room, she'd see his face in the window and pee herself scared under the covers. I did not live w/ them. But I've learned that my mother denied it ever happened to protect herself. She just couldn't admit that something she caused could cause her kid pain. To this day, "it never happened". He kept coming back around til he became too unhinged drunk & high. She quickly moved on.

This woman is a WARRIOR. The strength she possesses is something we should all yearn for. I myself felt every bit of this. She was so articulate in the way she describes her life and her struggles, her traumas. She really paints a vivid picture of her life in a way where even if you don’t have the same trauma or pain… you can feel it. I myself have even learned a thing or two about myself - things I can takeaway from this story and apply to my own life.

I am a new subscriber to " Underbelly" and have watched 20 or more of the interviews so far and I must say most of these people tell profoundly moving stories of their histories. I am so moved by their pain and especially their recognition of how they got to where they are. I respect you Mark for giving them a forum to explain their terrible journey in life. I don't think they are exploited in this process but instead find it cathartic to unload the baggage of these deeply hurtful events they have managed to live through. Mark keep up the good work. Those who tell their stories realize this will help them move forward in life if they can cope and heal their hearts. I think it 's therapeutic for them, and God knows how many listeners are helped too.❤😊

@tinasmith7630 I understand your point, chores and grooming are worlds apart... but trauma is trauma, period. You cannot compare trauma. Trauma registers in the body all the same! Now, can you compare events and judge them for how different/terrible/moral they are, absolutely!! Even that though, is an opinion, relative to each. But you cannot dismiss someone's trauma just because YOU don't think it's traumatic. Nobody gets to tell someone whether their trauma is valid.
I learned this is my early 20s, I had a horrific childhood and would dismiss or invalidate other people's trauma because "mine was worse" but then I started really healing. That's when I learned it doesn't matter what the trauma is, no matter how silly it may be to others, the body receives it and processes it the same. We have to acknowledge that and stop comparing and competing what is worse. There is no comparison.

You left me breathless & in awe - Every single person in your life that has hurt you, taken from you & caused you so much pain WILL answer for their evil one day, even if it's not in this life. - And they do NOT deserve you!! They never did.
You are an extraordinary human being!! .. and they will NEVER, ever, be able to take that from you!!

Good morning to everyone…We made it another day!
It’s moments like this that I sit back and close my eyes and appreciate my life and remind myself that my life is good. It can be hard sometimes but nowhere near as hard as what this woman has been through. I love her articulacy and I love Mark for creating Soft White Underbelly and continuing to run it despite the trials and tribulations of running a RUclips channel like this.
I want to be more loving and less resentful and less judgmental. A lot or the time this channel helps with that. I value and appreciate the fact that this channel has changed my life and that somehow I have helped others due to SWU. I hope this woman’s story helps a lot of people as well.
Just trying to send good vibes and spread the love and appreciation. I want to be a better person thanks to Mark and SWU. Everyone have a beautiful and blessed day.

I just watched your first SWUB episode & am half way through your second. Some of the things you've said hit me hard like you'd read my mind, like we've had the same thoughts. I wanted to send you much love from England. I'd rather not write my entire story on YT, but I was (what I thought at the time to be) a functioning heroin addict. I basically lead a double life for 14yrs. It took a damn lot & a 3rd dance with death, but I'm clean now & I truly wish you all the best going forward. I hope you can stay straight & recover into whatever you want to be. 🩵
Please don't forget that- #AddictsDontMakeForOldBones. It gets us all in the end & it's never too late to flip the script & change your life. 💗

Thank you for sharing. I found your story very relatable and it definitely validated my feelings. I loved my former stepdad SO MUCH, and he was there for the formative years of my life. He entered my life at age 6 and exited when I was around 21. When I was 18, I came to learn that he had a habit of exposing himself, and that he'd molested several of my friends and coworkers in our high school years. I'm 36 today and I can't get over it. I will never forgive him. I carry so much shame for him. I've purposely avoided and lost contact with friends bc I'm so scared that he hurt them, and that they just haven't told me. The shame is unbearable sometimes.

Ahhhh Rachael…. This woman! I relate to so much of what you said, the wisdom you’ve acquired, the pain you feel, the accusations you suffer, the humor you still have, the isolation and anger and everything you have expressed here.
But the most poignant is when you stated “IT IS YOUR JOB TO HEAL SO YOU DON’T BLEED YOUR PAIN ONTO OTHER PEOPLE.”
Bravo to that. It cannot be stated enough.
One day… you will understand that the pain your loved ones have is THEIRS to have. It is their blessing and their honor and their lessons to have. And I say “blessing” because there is absolutely NOTHING SPECIAL about an ordinary life…. You are exquisite just exactly as you are because you chose to heal, journey, grow, and LOVE despite what you suffered through. And that could only happen because you suffered.
I love who you are….. I see you…. And I hope you feel the depths of how extraordinary you are! You radiate goodness and love and determination through all of your brokenness. The whole world needs you and people like you.

I agree, but he walks free. He was never tried, but he absolutely should be. There are many victims - get together, get some legal counselling and trauma- sensitive Support for legal actions and accuse the man, bring him to trial!
This does not even have very much to do with revenge- but everything with justice and getting things balanced! And also with protecting further girls to become his next victims!

As someone who was also abused as a child by multiple people I see a fellow survivor in you. You are DOING the work, the really hard work. I hope you will release any feelings of responsibility for anything THAT PERSON did to you or others. HE CHOSE TO BE A MONSTER. I hope you and your sister can find a way to forgiveness because otherwise HE continues to have power over you both. Keep your head up doll because you are going places in this life…..great places. And HE can go straight to hell and take all of his victims pain with him, that’s the very least he deserves.
