Thanks for doing the interview! You articulated a thought I've had for some time about orthodox religion's fear of individuality. I've often thought this stems from a notion that people left to their own devices will somehow victimize society? I find this ironically amusing since many of these folks (whether they realize it or not) attribute to others their own anti-social thoughts, if that makes sense. Consciously or unconsciously, they presume that others will do what they would if they had the freedom to make their own choices.

You were born into a horrible experience of a CULTure shaped by those who desire control over others. I can hear the pain of the little girl who's telling this story as I type. Experiencing what you have was traumatic, luckily you are a free, beyouthefull, independent humane being capable of creating intentions, following them with actions and manifesting whatever life you intelligently desire to create.

Like is she’s the only kid that had to grow up? Please, if been poor doesn’t make you happy neither will wealth. These people are all complainers of life. She’s free to live how she likes it’s called grown up. Living in the past is not trauma it’s a decision to stay stuck in time. She’s not a black sheep she’s different ~ if her new life is better then why remember the awful past? It’s like people who still call an ex ~ my ex? Move on. Stop self victimizing especially when you’re grown up. She’s just a complainer. Hope she does what she likes, end of sadness. Hope she stops complaining. Live your life.

My cousin had 5 girls no boys, I didn't realize at the time that the man who presents the baby to the Rabbi for bris is the G-d Parent! Needless to say I kept a small bris in my Jewish home on the 8th day of his life safely. My Aunt, My Cousin and his wife did not attend. I hold it in my heart that Family should not treat family like this. My Aunt did worse at my Brothers funeral. I saw them last Sunday which was the first time in over 3 years. I know I must forgive for myself but forget I will not. I find you and your story inspiring to those of us who are out cast from family bc we are less religious then our families. I truly believe, G-d weighs our souls my moral character, how you treat others thy neighbors and our families. I believe spirituality and G-ds love doesn't depend on how well we dovin but how we treat his children those Jewish or not, all people and creatures created by Hashem ! Thank you so much for listening it means a lot.

The more I listen to this girl the more I love her. the way she has such a holistic outlook on all the trauma she experienced in her formative years. Yeah, one of the greatest evils in the world is just quietly looked away from as millions of children are psychologically and/or physically abused in hyper-religious families. I know not all religions do this, but there are too many extreme sects out there who do, and it's insane that we _know_ it's happening and we somehow just keep on keepin' on without confronting it. I think "Freedom of Religion" is abused by parents who don't give their children any freedom at all.

@@Felice_Enellen Perhaps so, I just feel we could all benefit sometimes from a little more grace in the way we think, act, speak... simple things such as refering to someone who is speaking so eloquently and thoughtfully as a "woman" rather than "a girl" might be a small step in that process. It just sounded very strange to me, i was a little suprised by it. Just my opinion, as a grown man i can't recall the last time someone refered to me as a "boy". Then again, listening to the pimps etc on here refer to woman as "bitches".. and even women refering to themselves as "bitches"...maybe i'm too far removed from this "culture", if so i'm OK with that being the case.
