    Glad to see the North Star Open in this series! I know the guy who runs it and have been attending his events for years before he started NSO. So awesome to see.

    Its… its so beautiful 🥲

    Hell yeah!! Emperors Children representing at last!! I really think Lucius is powerful, he aint a Chaos Lord, but the Fight First really gives him an edge.

    There were 2 undefeated players at the Big Sky Open. Colin Kay was actually the winner with his Bringers of Flame Sisters. That said Thomas had an amazing run and almost took back our Montana honor from Colin (Colin's taken our last 3 GTs). Someday I'll get revenge for Colin always making me X-1 at our events.

    I did not expect that Ironstorm List. It looks similar to my casual list I build last year, but I have 2x5 Infiltrators instead of intercessors.

    40 Hormagaunts sounds very thematic and fun!
    Perhaps someone can answer me 2 "Tyranid" questions i m stuggeling with.
    In Crusher, does my Carnifex (lead by OOE) benefit from the first detachement rule? And how about Tyranid Guard that get the Monster keyword from their leader?

    • @TacticalTortoise
      @TacticalTortoise  17 дней назад +1

      *one* Carnifex with OOE attached gets no benefit from Crusher, but a unit of 2 that loses one would get the +1 to hit.
      And once the fexes are dead OOE will benefit if he's taken damage.
      Tyrant Guard or Zoanthropes get no benefit from the Detachment ability, which only affects Monster *models*, even if there is a Monster in their unit.

    I don't understand thoses lists. Are we playing in the same universe where you need battlelines to score?

    • @captaincorundum9788

      These are top table lists... so, yeah, they're pretty alien to most of us

    • @dras-pv8qv
      @dras-pv8qv 18 дней назад +2

      There isn't a single primary mission that requires battleline for scoring. A handful of mission rules benefit battleline, and a SINGLE one can score up to 5 points with battleline.
      How exactly is this a version that requires battleline to score, as you claim.

    • @bulldozer8950
      @bulldozer8950 17 дней назад +1

      No clearly we’re not because you don’t need battle line to score… have you been playing where you can only score primary with battle line or something? The only way that battle line score iirc is the raise banners or whatever that’s like 5 points max and counts towards secondary anyway so if you just better at secondary it might not matter anyway because you max out secondary.

      @@helmutperchut1228 you're seriously going to claim battleline is necessary to score in the game because of a single secret mission? Lmfao

    Bro, please don't screw us over right before the next points update. CSM are the second worst faction by winrate right now, or the worst depending on whose stats you're looking at. Let's not make loud noises (pun intended) about two tournament wins 😅

      Bro codex marines have literary last win rate, 0 tournament wins for 2 or 3 weeks, I think+ its like that for last 8 months, were being nerfed due to non-codex having access to all what we have m, CSM will be repaired as it deserve, u will see. Sadly, we, codex marines, don't have this hope, BE new detachments will make gw increase again points for inceptors or space marines with jump packs, and we will get nerfed39% winrate

    • @WontonDestruction
      @WontonDestruction 18 дней назад +2

      @@Klierowski I don't see how they can fix codex marines without separating points costs like they have with imperial agents. That being said space marines just have so many options, there are definitely viable combos out there, and the argument doesn't really hold up when you are using 98% standard data sheets and just slap Azrael in there and suddenly it's 'Dark Angels'. I just don't want to see clickbaity titles for a struggling faction, that's all 🤷‍♂️

    • @bulldozer8950
      @bulldozer8950 17 дней назад +2

      @@KlierowskiI mean there’s literally a codex army in the vid that has no codex specific units at all, even for codex compliant chapters. Codex space marines are always probably gonna be slightly worse than non compliant ones that have more options, but clearly they’re not so far behind that they’re unplayable.
      Plus, most of the best players are also the ones who have the models to switch factions depending on which one was best. All the way up until pariah nexus the best space marine lists were ironstorm, and they were run often in dark angels because azrael was a cheaper cp generating unit than calgar, and darkshroud was potentially useful, but the ultra marines variant was perfectly good as well. The main difference in winrate at that point was the fact that if you were a experienced top tier player you probably ran dark angels for the 1% gain from having a cheaper command point bot, so the winrate was mostly skewed because the best players skewed to one, not because of inherent strength.
      Honestly most of the complaints about codex space marines this edition is just cope, they are mostly the same in game strength as non codex, non codex don’t get a ton of bonus rules like they did last edition (cough cough inner circle 1-3 wounds fail) so there isn’t that much discrepancy in the strength of units between which chapter is running it. Ordinary terminators don’t need to be kept prohibitively expensive to keep dark angels in check, ordinary assualt intercessors don’t need to be kept prohibitively expensive to keep blood angels in check, etc because they don’t really gain anything from running those units compared to base space marines. Right now codex space marines are doing bad because they are mostly overcosted with weak army and detachment rules/stratagems, and non codex ones are kept up because they have some potentially undercosted units (Deathwing knights, probably need to gain 20 or so points) or actually have good detachment rules (blood angles). Which that happens as they attempt to balance stuff, some stuff is better some stuff is worse. But most of the time most of the difference isn’t the non codex stuff just having too much bonus rules or whatever, it’s just that they add more extra datasheets than codex ones and so there’s a higher chance that one of those datasheets is good for its cost, so the very best players gravitate towards the ones that are 1% more efficient. Which drastically skews the winrate, because probably like 80% of the yearly wins, and those players are often the ones also disproportionately likely to have the range and the desire to switch to get the small advantage. But the people in that group had a decent chance of winning regardless, but because they swapped for the 1% gain all the sudden 100% of the credit went to non coded chapter.
      Anyway, point is stop whining about codex being weak because of non codex, the problems they’re having this edition aren’t as a result of non codex chapters being so overwhelmingly strong abusing codex stuff, the problem is that their army rules and detachment stuff sucks and a lot of their units are overcosted when taking that into account, and so the best players play other stuff instead which even further deflates their winrate.
