Hi Katherine, juz to let you know: at 14.47 ... thatz a pagoda made entirely of stone ( no nails ) during the beginning of the Ming Dynasty and at 14.56 ,,, that one tree ( the great great great grandfather ) was planted by Emperor Zhu Yuan Zhang, the founder of Ming Dynasty. I was there in 1997 on a business trip from South East Asia, never thought I would see it again in your video. They really preserved and take care of the pagoda and trees very well throughout the centuries from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty to Revolutionary China to World War 2 to present Chinese government. I think this place in Fujian is famous for its Mandarin oranges and lychees which are exported to many south East Asian countries where they are in high demand especially among those overseas Chinese residing there.

I remembered I visited Quanzhou 20+ years ago. In "Kaiyuan Temple", there was a huge longan tree age of 100+ that produced lots of delicious fruits. I paid RMB30 for a Kilo, really impressed.

It was once a metropolitan city and you can still find mosque of the ancient arabs in the city. For those offereing you see in the market, I give you some explanations: orange : wealth, because its color looks like gold, fish : abundance, because the pronouciation of fish and have surplus are nearly the same. oster : prosperity, good trading. cakes (年糕) : prosperity, get promoted each year. .....
