  • In this video, Jason shows his most recent technique for production smelting. Since it's incredibly time consuming to try to recover all the gold when smelting, it's best to get as much as possible on the first smelt and save the slag for later reprocessing. Jason shares the flux recipe and techniques he uses to recover around 95% of the gold on the first smelt.

Love your videos, no chessy ass intros, no 3 minutes of what the video will be about, no wasting time like 99% of every video on RUclips.

This man is awesome he helps by putting out these videos. Travels the world educating and helping others about gold recovery. Has his own plant and trunk key system, and still finds time to answer questions and help the smallest producer with help and knowledge. True hero wish I could give him more time in a day to do all he does but I don't possess that power m. What I can do is tell him thanks for the help might not even been more than a few sentences but did help me dial it in a little and for that I'm thankful for his help and content 🙏

Great Video Jason! You might wanna stay away from using those channel locks and get back to using forge crucible tongs or tools. I have seen and had a few crucibles break on me when using channel locks. Not good to have molten anything splash. Not to mention having to re-smelt again.

I loved the editing on this video. Enough was shown to communicate what the ideas were without spending an inordinate amount of time watching lead melt. (Don't get me wrong; there are times to go deeper into a given aspect of the process, but this wasn't one of them.)

The law of diminishing returns. It really is a matter of gauging effort vs. reward. Smelting and re-smelting to get every bit of gold becomes less cost-effective with each attempt.

Thanks for that, ought to xrf your material beforehand so as to assess the accuracy of that method of assay by comparison with your smelting measurements.

Great Video !! It looks like a more, "refined" process (pun intended). Would a piece of rebar be a good way to get the iron into the process, or is your preference typically a bar? Seriously, thank you so much for the excellent information and video.
