PLEASE. Any actress BUT Ariana Grande. I agree with some commenters here; NOT EVEN an inch of Grande is Megara material. Apart from that, Grande´s an OVERRATED, UNPROFESSIONAL DIVA.
There are MANY others who are MORE talented, MORE professional and lovelier than Grande.
Top choice´s Moriah Smallbone. Whilst you´re about it, choose her husband Joel Smallbone as the titular character. He´s Herculæan material. And they both sing.

Honestly the person who did the voice for Meg in the 1997 movie, Susan Egan, really channels that energy and would probably make a great live action Meg on her own.

She can go softer in slower songs, but in her more fast-paced songs she gets very playful and strong with her voice. She also has really good control over her voice so she would probably be able to meet up to meg's expectations.

Thing is, Ariana isn't actually as cutesy as she lets on. Her natural speaking voice is low and she can do anything she wants with her singing voice. Behind the scenes she's funny, sensual and a lot spunkier than you'd think. But you probably know all this already since you're a fan.

This may be one of the best MsMojo vids I've watched. My kids and I fully agree with all of these selections. I thought Kellan Lutz was an awesome Hercules, but I'm obsessed with Theo James, so would love him in the role, as well. I also feel like he has the charm for THIS version of Herc. Gotta agree with everyone else on here, and say Ariana Grande is NOT Meg. Liz Gillies would totally be perfect for that role. She can easily portray the sass of the character, as well as the image, hair, and similar voice. Here's hoping the casting team chooses these actors!

Everyone is so passionate about representation expect for Greek representation. Like when you make a movie about Greek culture can you at least make them look greek?? I haven't forgot about the 300. Time and time again, we see fully Anglo-Saxon presentations of Greek epics, with nary a Greek in sight. Light blonde hair and English accents from all those involved are par for the course at this point.This is in line with the problematic idea in the West that the strong figures and heroes of history generally look like northern Europeans. Greeks on TV are still largely presented as quirky diner owners, immigrants with funny accents, or simple-minded locals with the “earthy” wisdom needed to help the (undoubtedly northern European) protagonist, why can’t we at least be cast as heroes in our own stories?

Been saying Liz Gillies since they announced the live action. She will be perfect for Meg. I would personally love to see more of an unknown as Hercules. The Muses need to be played black women. There will probably be an uproar if not. I don’t know about RDJ as Hades. Ngl I kinda liked the guy who played Hades in the Descendants. Also, Danny Devito needs to come back.
Dawn Marie I’m going to blow your mind, but like many other people in many countries I had no idea that in the original cartoon muses were played by black women. If I did, as a child I would probably be surprised why Greek goddesses were black. They were dubbed over by white Russian singers. It’s going to be the same this time, no matter who the cast. Unfortunately, people still dub movies in my country, even musicals. You can find a screening with subtitles only in big cities. Now I can watch it in the original in a big theatre 2 hours away from me if that’s a movie I really care about, or when it’s out on the internet. Can you imagine I was watching the Lion King in theatre and Beyoncé was dubbed over by a Ukrainian singer. The most horrible experience with dubbed musicals for me was Les Miserables.
I can't imagine Cheyenne Jackson playing Hercules again only because it won;t match the campiness of Descendants.

Wow actually. I agree. We really, really, really dont want a famous actor to be Herc. Mainly because most of them are either too old or dont have the right voice/demeanor (the latter case was true for this video), but a younger actor we arent so familiar would be perfect. Just thinking about Tom Holland with Spider-man. Obviously ud probably have some older than him, just so u can have more bulk. But Herc is only 18 after Phills training, so u need some relatively young, and definitely not Hemsworth, for both reasons.
