I started reading kingdom when I was like 15, I’m 20 now and anticipate every chapter, it’s sad it’s not talked about and the first two season have bad cg so it’s kinda hard to get into but the manga is incredible and the third season has better 2d animation now, I hope it continues and become popular
It is truly an addictive story. Re-read it like 7 times at this point. Recently too, to honor it getting to chapter 700, and that definitely warranted it. It's hard to imagine just how many chapters there will be when it's finally done. It took 700 chapters just to get to the throat of Zhao's capital.

*FINALLY* a good kingdom video holy SHIT. My favorite part of Kingdom is how it integrates so many different Chinese philosophes together so elegantly, for example in my favorite arc (where Sei's and Ryofui's grand debate happens) it has elements of both Legalism AND confucianism in it. The highest praise I can give it is that it ALMOST makee me believe in humanity (makes me cry everytime T T). Second greatest manga of ALL TIME

His subordinates became part of Shin's army. The same thing happened to some of Duke Hyou's soldiers, it's like a passing of will. Ouki's army stayed with General Tou though.

I'm fully caught up on Kingdom. It's quickly become one of my top manga series of all time. I can't believe I've been reading this over the course of 3 years now. Doesn't seem like it's about to end any time soon as well.
This has been up for almost a year so someone may have mentioned it already, but just in case... 'Qin', is pronounced more like "Chin". Like China, without the A. Whenever you see Q's in Chinese names, think 'Ch-'. So "Qi', would sound like, "Chi". Picked that up from Chinese historical dramas, like 'King's War', on netflix. It starts pretty much right after Ei Sei's (Qin Shi Huang Di) end of rule. Highly recommend.
Always been a fan of three kingdoms fiction, Kingdom introduced me to the Summer and Autumn period. Hope this series gets way more mainstream exposure so more people can appreciate it

Thats actually because that is what he's always recorded as in history. Ribokus losses in the manga are all the result of Hara kind of changing history, Houken was the one recorded as fighting (and losing) those battles in the Shiji.
It's an underrated anime. Even though there are a lot of exaggerations in battle, what stands out is how true overall it feels. It also seems like there are many aspects that are for adults.

When i tell people about ancient Chinese history they look at me weirdly by saying that actually happened and im like yeah this thing is real. Its so amazing how we tend to say allot of bad things about our world or we tend to say i wish i could live in middle earth or some other fictional place but people dont realize that if it weren't for these historical events we wouldn't even have all of these awesome stories.

Kingdom is om my top 3 manga of the 200+ mangas I have. My top 3: One Piece, Berserk, Kingdom. Probably read Kingdom all the way through 10 tjmes at this point.
Please read Kingdom. It may seem daunting because it's already 660+ chapters and still ongoing. But it's so good. The characters are amazing. The fights are so fucking hype. And the politics are on par with anything you can think of regarding the matter. Definitely a must read. Oh.......and the Coalition Arc is insane.

The thing i find most fascinanting about this is how japanese artists only portrai characters with asian eyes when when it comes to drawing chinese people
anime has bad animation but has epic music. in fact u can hear some of those ost in this video itself. the hype, sadness and emotion for me was much more watching the last 2 episodes of season 1 than reading the manga(coz manga doesn't have color, neither does it have music). yes the anime is badly adapted, but it has things that can stimulate ur other senses more clearly like sound and vision(color/movement). The grandeur of these characters can only be seen from anime, manga doesn't feel that epic to me even with gore and what not.
I'm disappointed by the lack of accuracy in the portrayals of battle and the weapons and armor used from that timeperiod. For example, crossbows and daggeraxe-halberds were two of the most common weapons used during the Warring States era, but neither of them show up in Kingdom from what I can do.
I think in my opinion series like this are better written by people from other countries then China because I feel authors or publishers have a biased for thier own countries not that it’s a bad thing but you get my point like how 90 action American movies paint America as perfect I’m sorry I sound racist I can’t get my point across correctly
