JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

That's not true. Why wasn't he with the other guys pretending to be peace keepers that evening, weren't they walking together as a group the whole night? How come the murderer had to run back Searching for the guys after he killed his first victim? They were nowhere to be found after he shot all those people, meaning he should have been with them and not alone Searching for them. They knew how to pretend being peace keepers that's why they didn't shoot or attempt to shoot anyone.

I didn’t know until watching this video that there was a shot right before Kyle turned around. Then after he shot the first kid the guy behind him has a hand gun and fires at Kyle. It really looks and sounds like that kid fired first at Kyle and when he turned around he didn’t know who tf was shooting at him.

After the first three of the prosecution's own witness testified, it's quite evident that it's self-defense. And so far the rest of the prosecution's witnesses testimony it seems to be the case...
If the jury doesn't come back with a not guilty they should inform the judge that they refuse a verdict. The judge himself needs to declare a directed verdict ruling in favor of the defense...

What is the prosecutions point? Its either self defense or not, how the person was killed is rather irrelevant. They are not even making a case at this point they are just going through the motions.
They're throwing schit and hoping something sticks with the jury appealing to their emotions. They only way to fight facts is to create doubt in peoples minds, it's a strategy as old as the hills.

The ADA badgers witnesses (especially the old lady today). Does he not understand that the jury is sympathetic to that? It's bad enough that he and the lead detective are super smug (the devilish laugh the lead detective couldn't stifle yesterday was so telling when he got caught out trying to bend the truth). The abject refusal of the prosecutors to vilify those burning down the city while vilifying the volunteers seems like something out of the Twilight Zone! It is clear to the Judge, Jury, and Defense as well as the viewers that this prosecution is not about the facts and is politically motivated and was from the start. The refusal to execute search warrants for the living aggressors and the refusal to prosecute for their crimes (many and varied) let alone those of the other rioters show this as just a continuation of the initial mob violence that necessitated Kyle's actions in the first place!
What facts do you need?
They have to prove there was no reasonable grounds for self defense. They are not even doing that. They are trying to make a MORALE claim that Kyle simply shouldnt have been there. That SAME claim can be leveled at the rioters.

This case should have never went to trial. That is obvious to any object observer. The prosecution has not even begun to prove that there is no case in self defense, which is what I believe their burden of proof is.

Or the trial could be translated for them if English isn't their primary language (I used to attend an English church which had French-speaking members and they would wear headphones throughout the service as someone translated the sermon for their benefit)? On another note - I get a chuckle out of that judge and his case histories. Sometimes his baffling search for words to explain himself frustrates me, but otherwise I think he has a good command of the proceedings w/out being too overbearing.

I can only imagine the anxiety poor Kyle has right now. After watching the trial as far as I have, I actually believe he acted in self defense. I think he made a stupid decision going to the riots, but that shouldn't ruin the rest of his life. I really hope he is set free and the two men's who died families can find peace. Despite how or why a death happened, it's not easy to deal with a loved ones death.
He went there to protect the business from the rioters, had they not been stupid and chased an armed person none of this would of happened. The worst part is the biggest idiot of them all is the one that lived.

@@therewdy4038 I wasn't looking for any reason for Kyle to be acquitted. When I first heard about the shooting over a year ago I thought he was guilty. I was very ignorant of the situation though and the evidence presented in the trial has changed my mind. What I think doesn't really matter though. It's what the jury thinks matters. It seems we disagree and that's okay. I respect your opinion. I just hope that everyone affected by this occurrence can heal and move on with their lives.
