Concrete tips: Once a piece of concrete is solid, you can wet it again with more water to ensure all the cement powder inside is fully hydrated for extra strength. Concrete takes a long time to cure so you could actually just stick the tray of keys into a pot of water for up to a week to ensure it is as strong as possible. There are some gorgeous concrete dyes that could work really well for projects like this. I don't think you can go as well as you do with the resin, but it can give some fun character to these projects. Also, instead of sand, you can try fly ash or other additives in the mix for added strength. There are lots of sources online for which additives give what characteristics that I am sure Evan would love to research.
That is such a great tip! I had no idea that doing something like that would actually make concrete STRONGER. My family does a lot of DIY stuff and I'm sure this'll come up for me at some point - so thank you for spreading your knowledge!

I also saw the problem they were gonna face with the space bar (and the keyboard base for that matter if it would bend), of it just breaking because it is not 1) thick enough, 2) it is not reinforced!, they could have easily added a straightened paper clip as a reinforcement and it would have worked :D I would love if they saw both of our comments and implemented the fixes and maybe provide us with an update! it is such a cool video though :)
So for the fiberglass one, it worked how it’s supposed to. Typically fiberglass strands are added to concrete that is being poured on a slope, but they don’t want the concrete to run. Like a boat ramp. It also adds insane strength to a compression strength test. While I doubt this will be an issue for you guys, concrete can take 30 days or more to cure, sometimes leaking out moisture. If the keyboard stops working, that’d most likely be why. If you have to redo this, instead of using the table, you can still use the vibrators and plunge them into the concrete straight in and out, moving positions each time. This will help prevent over vibrations and separating the mixture. There is a surprising amount of complexity to getting a good concrete mix depending on your intended use. Every pour has a different ratio of cement, gravel, sand, water, and other additives. Never thought my job of testing concrete would lend a useful comment like this 😂

I add pva glue to my concrete and plaster projects it makes it very strong, you are basically adding a plastic vinyl material and it binds very well to things like this. I also add fine cotton fibers this increases strength of pieces a lot in combination with the glue which adds a bit of flex which help with cracking.
I make concrete ornaments, using fast setting cement. Sometimes fine sand in the mix, as I like to sand them smooth. I am happy to see you are finally taking the levelling serious... 😂😂😂 and it's not an Evan & Katelyn video without the magical substance called Resin 🙌🏼
As a civil engineering student, i thoroughly enjoyed the video, pro tip: you can increase the strength of concrete by submerging the keycaps in water after demolding them.
Evan and Katelyn are both so hilarious together and so cute together, they remind me of my fiance and I in how sweet and chaotic they are ❤ Edit: I remembered the plastic pieces 😂
I had an idea while watching the madness with the spacebar being put in at 25:27. For the future if you end up using concrete for these kinda thin and long structures like the space bar, maybe you could use some kind of thick wire (picture maybe around the thickness of the wire in a paperclip?) to reinforce the concrete, like how rebar is sometimes used to reinforce concrete in buildings. That way you may get more resistance against tension, and you don't run into issues with sanding like you did with the fiberglass. No idea if this would work though since idk how well that concept scales down to that size.
No joke I was watching the resin keyboard video (for like the millionth time) a few minutes before this got uploaded! Love you guys so much thank you for the amazing content and for always bringing a smile to my face!❤❤❤❤❤❤

I think graffity inspired letters on the concreate would fit so well!
Eww, hate graffiti.
All the intentional and unintentional innuendos in the video ending with Katelyn screaming "it's in" and later Evan saying "this was unexpectedly hard" absolutely SENT me. 😂🤣😂 And this was also a very cool project that resulted in one of the nicest-sounding and most cool-looking keebs I've ever seen. 👍One of my favourite E&K vids to date.
Concrete time, Concrete time, con con con con, Concrete time!
Resin time sounds much better 🤣
this would be so good with all the concrete projects in the background
19:16 i remembered, i remember everything i remember the creation of the universe , the universe is in the shape of a concrete keyboard
6:59 They say when you laugh out loud and you're alone, it was really funny.
The criteria was met and I laughed my ass off here. Hahahahaa!
7:05 "that reduces the volume a lo....SCREEEECH". lmao that will be the internet benchmark of speaking too soon
I am happy to see you are finally taking the levelling serious... 😂😂😂 and it's not an Evan & Katelyn video without the magical substance called Resin 🙌🏼
This channel is relationship goals. You two are adorable together! ♥
it's always a good day when evan and katelyn post
The comedic timing on the party blowout 6:59 is *chef's kiss*
As a civil engineering student, i thoroughly enjoyed the video, pro tip: you can increase the strength of concrete by submerging the keycaps in water after demolding them.
the comedic timing of that party horn was impeccable 😂
Okay but why is it so AESTHETIC and the typing sounds like beautiful rain pitter patter?!?! Amazing!!!
The way you guys do sponsors is so good
as a first time viewer, that kiss at 10:49 ish caught me so off guard
welcome!
😭
Me too
Right I thought he was part of the alternative rainbow 🌈 😭 whole time that’s his girl my mind was blown
It threw me off and I’m gay
The broken spacebar's crack perfectly lined up with the crack on my screen 😂
This is too relatable
Imagine a All Lego Keyboard, that would be wild.
my therapist: brutalist keyboard isn't real, it can't hurt you
brutalist keyboard:
17:47 sounded like a human scream I’m shocked the neighbors didn’t call 911, loved the video btw
Evan and Katelyn are both so hilarious together and so cute together, they remind me of my fiance and I in how sweet and chaotic they are ❤
Edit: I remembered the plastic pieces 😂
19:24 Listen, I remembered mold release, leveling, and the Lego levelers you put in Pascal! (I don’t remember if you all decided it was safe to leave them in)😂
