The jury had no choice. If they came out off the bat and said not guilty it would have been more chaotic. @Chromatic he didn't murder anyone though. He eliminated a threat in fear of his life. Which is perfectly legal. Also you absolutely do not have to stay on scene after a shooting. You never stay in scene where you could possibly be killed. Maybe learn the laws before leaving comments of pure stupidity. 🤔
@Chromatic absolutely. The video proves without a doubt he was being attacked by a mob of people. You absolutely can use deadly force if you feel your life is in immediate danger. Thankfully everyone was recording it. 30 years ago he would've been screwed.
I'm actually impressed with Rittenhouse on identifying threats and bystanders. Most people in the heat of the moment would be shooting anything thats moving close by. The defense did a great job pointing everything out.
I am also VERY impressed with how Kyle handled himself and his firearm. All shots were point blank, taken at the very last moment or in direct defense of an ongoing physical attack. He held it together being struck multiple times, and only fired upon attackers, no random shots. We should all be proud of him and hope that we all will perform just as well under those types of circumstances. This trial set a huge precedent for anyone who carries in public.
Indeed, when Kyle fell down, the very first guy who reached Kyle turned away and started to run away and Kyle didnt shoot him because he realized he wasnt a threat, but i bet most people would have shot him in his situation. That alone shows Kyle had no intent to kill.
99% of people would have shot WAY earlier. Kyle endangered his own life with his restraint. He made up for it with marksmanship, but that was still reckless.
Quite honestly it was the prosecutor who did the best job as a defense attorney. If I'm not mistaken, this was the prosecutor examining his own damn witness.
