Thanks for the video, glad you love the course. Sorry about the late start, a powercut last night plus the regular caretaker not being at work meant we didn't get access to our equipment until 25 minutes later than usual so we had to delay the start. Luckily it's the first time I've had to do it. Congrats on the PB.
@@willjt thank you, it is a lovely route and I was chuffed with that time today. The delay wasn't a big issue and just pleased it was nothing serious and the run could go ahead
Nice one Rich. Funnily enough, I was position number 51 too @ Druridge Bay! Huge difference in times though, I struggled as ever but you smashed it!! Congrats on 24.37. Better and better 😉
@@DeeJay_78 that's a strange coincidence. I love the route at Druridge Bay, it's one of favourites. I'm doing the Darlo 10k next week so going to get around the 50 min mark
@@abitrich68 Nice one. I would strongly recommend negative splits if the course allows for them. When I set my PB of 50.18, I ran 25.45 for the first 5k and 24.33 for the second. Massive negative splits but it really works, give it a go! All the best 🙂
@@DeeJay_78 last time I did it was 2017, my first race and I did 53 something or other. I'm in much better form now so hoping to go close to 50. Did 52:43 at GN 10k and this route is easier from what I remember. Yeah 25:30ish and 24:30ish is possible but I prefer to start well rather than have to chase
@@abitrich68 Totally fair enough if that's what works for you. I was being paced and it was really frustrating going so 'slow' the first 5k but it worked a treat. You are easily in shape to run 50, maybe even 49 if you pace it well.
@@DeeJay_78 you might be right, slower first 5k then put the throttle down. It's a two course so be easy to judge. At the GN10k I did a 25 first 5k but the second 5k was uphill.
Great video. Well done excellent time.
@@Jeff-yt3qp thank you 😊
