That start is something else - mindblowing and chaotic all rolled into one. Loved your video you really captured how it REALLY was out there, how hard everyone is working, the amazing crowds, the rain 😂, your grit towards the end. Just brilliant. 🎉

@@Sallyannsworld thank you 😊 I was like a big kid at the start, I couldn't stop smiling. Yep as my face doesn't lie that end was so hard but every shout made me look up, smile and keep pushing.

@@personalbestOh I've been running for a long time now so I am okay with the numbers of people. It's just when I haven't run somewhere before and it's all new and rather daunting. It's crazy though because I leave the event and everything goes well. You will know what I mean by that.

Al, you did absolutely brilliant and your video really sums up how I found the run too. Loads of people you don't know supporting you, encouragement from onlookers and from fellow runners. Just a fantastic atmosphere and one of the most uplifting experiences as a runner (and just as a human being). Brilliant day and I hope you're back next year for more. All the best

@@JoeKeaveney aww thanks Joe, this means alot as I'm all about trying to capture an atmosphere and the feelings. Even though at times I'm firmly in the hurt locker hearing all those screams, shouts of supports and cute little kids singing in the rain just makes you smile and keep on pushing. The whole thing gives you a different perspective on humanity with all the kindness out there from total strangers. The world can be a hurtful place but moments like this, wow, it's beautiful, even in the rain. If Great Run want me back I'd love to return. There's nothing like it. Take care

I missed you Al, must have run past you whilst dodging other runners. The GNR is an event you either run hard or you just soak up the atmosphere, which showcases the best of the North East.
