I'm going to find out what EgyptAir is really like. Looking at the reviews... it's not good! Many report issues with cleanliness, upkeep of the cabin (broken seats!) and overall just not offering good value.
I'll be trying out their Business Class on their brand new Airbus A220 over to Aswan in Northern Egypt.

Long story short. About 3 years ago got in one of their planes took of, electronics were flickering, and the info screens went up and down. On the way back we had the same problem. A few weeks later, that plane crashed due to technical failure. Not one of my happiest moments to find out shortly after coming home.
That crash, MS804 - Paris to Cairo, actually happened over 6 years ago in May of 2016.

I've flown on the 777-300 before and it was a wonderful experience from Cairo to Tokyo, incredible ambiance, incredible food, and friendly staff. I think you should try the 787!

I’ve flown on their a320 and 777 way before covid, the problem with egyptair is that the service really depends on the type of aircraft you fly, for example if it’s an a320 or 737 or even some of their a330s aren’t new or updated and tend to be very basic and not good, but if it’s a 787 or a220 (because they’re new) or even the 777 (cause it offers ife) it tends to be a lot better
You mentioned how filthy the plane is on the outside, egypt is a very dusty country, almost everything is dirty on the outside, I thought you would've noticed that on your trip here 😂

As an expat living in Cairo I personally avoid EgyptAir whenever possible, preferring BA for international especially after EA removed it's Manchester route. EAs aircraft are usually basic, crammed, and get absolutely trashed during flight especially the toilets. The staff are not on level with international standards and offer little explaination especially during delays, but this is a common cultural behaviour. Cairo airport even though has been forced to update it's security procedures is a see-saw of standards from over zealous-for-show..to letting it all go rules don't apply. As a gateway to Africa the facilities airside are basic which is a shame seeing as they have a whole load of land and Egypt can build extravagance when it wants. One can only hope that the newer airports due to open soon offer better facilities as first and last impressions count especially when you rely on tourism so much.

BA have just removed their TV’s and a meal on their uk to Cairo flight unfortunately.
@@Bedoyyk55 I actually just flew EA Dreamliner to Frankfurt about 2 weeks ago on code share. Whilst the aircraft was nicer physically than the standard A320/1 neobody currently used by BA and Lufthansa into Cairo I must say the air vents were black and blowing bits of fluff so clearly not properly cleaned/sanitizer/maintained. Whilst each seat had an entertainment system the contents especially in English were very out dated and not what you'd expect on an international airline. Food was nothing to write home about and definitely less in quantity and quality than the last time I flew EA about 6 years ago. The only drinks offered were water, tea, coffee and kids Juhayna juice cartons in Mango or Guava which tasted like sugared sludge.
Fantastic job Will as always and this was a very handy video for me as I'm hoping to fly EgyptAir Business Class on this exact route just in reverse : Aswan to Cairo on the A220 then their 787-9 flagship from Cairo to Frankfurt and finally Lufthansa economy from Frankfurt back to Nice
Well EgyptAir have been claiming lately that they're starting a new era of better service . So i would appreciate you trying their long haul flights perhaps it could be really better and updated during the pandemic as claimed
FYI Turkish airlines seems to be healing, I flew Istanbul to Malta yesterday and they actually had a full breakfast service in economy and I noticed menus In the business section. It wasn't like this when I flew last month. Nice review.
Fantastic news! I did hear that they were resuming full meal service in due course and glad to hear it's already happened. It does beg the question to many of the arguments the "TK fanboys" had as it being cut back for safety. I flew Egyptair Economy on the 777 from LHR-CAI. I absolutely loved the flight and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Loads of space and a really comfortable flight - even in economy.

Nice vlog mate, I do love the A220 and looks very nice with the Egyptair livery. Shame about the flight and dirty interior and the the alcohol thing doesn’t make sense. Overall a pretty good option 👏 👏

I fly Egypt Air some years ago and thought it was a pretty good flight. The highlight for me was our own bus (Business Class) to take us from the plane to the terminal in Aswan.
That lounge looked kinda rough. And so did that seat, but atleast they allow you to carry on your beer, thats a "crime" here in the states, apparently. Great video, as always.

I've flown Egypt Air in Y before from Berlin to Cairo. I didn't think they were bad at all, and I have travelled widely. I got sick of the extremely cold snowy weather in Berlin, and Egyptair were my getaway airline to sunnier climes !
You should definitely try the EgyptAir 787-9, you’ll love it.
Nice Vlog. My Experience with MS was very mixed. flew the 737 -800 from DXB _ CAI in Business. Plane was clean , Seat ok Catering forget it. No Coffee or Tea available due to CV19. Crew was good. Lounge in CAI was open and ok . Chaos at DXB for check - In normal. Then flew CAI - IST on A320 Neo , again Crew ok , Plane clean , Catering a mess and no Coffee or Tea due to CV19.
But i will give it a try on there longhaul flights . The 787 would be nice . All mentioned flights happened in FEB 2021 and i spend 6,5 hours in total on their planes.
For your information this is not Business Class, this is A Class (Premium Economy),
Egyptair A200-300 does not have Business class !
Try other aircrafts, like B777 and B787 dreamliner

I have been to that lounge before and I have done business class on a E 175 . It was not bad. The business class seats are bigger on there E 175.
It wasn't Egypt Air, but when in Sharm- El-Sheik, we travelled to Cairo with Air Memphis.... That was an eye opener 😮 the aircraft had nuts and bolts missing, seats moved as you sat down, covering around the windows missing... I couldn't wait to land!!! The airport too! We had packed lunches from the hotel with big bottles of water, which was absolutely fine to pass through security with 😬

If you take your own booze onto an EgyptAir flight, they'll happily serve it to you. I got told that they once got some Saudi money into the airline and they specified that they can't serve booze since then - Egyptians drink though, so they're happy to serve you if you bring it.
I know so many airlines are better than EgyptAir in many ways, but I think they're great.
I live in Africa, and they do decent routes at decent prices, and the international business product tends to be better than Ethiopian, especially on their newer planes. The best thing about EgyptAir is the staff - Egyptians are so friendly and always helpful. They even recognise you and chat when you fly similar routes a lot.
Yeah egyptair has decent prices but they have a lot of old aircrafts that must be entered out of service.
Sadly you didn't visit the bigger lounge in the facility. They offer lots of food and drinks options, WIFI and more seating area.

I just flew J on their A333 from JNB to CAI and B738 CAi to BAH. The A333 was 9 years old but looked more like 20. Badly maintained and not so comfortable. The 738 was like most other single aisle products, average but as you would expect

Yeah I got hot tea spilled on me and our luggage got lost a couple times (not sure if we got anything in return probably not) and ever since we stopped travelling on Egypt air business class.
We travelled EgyptAir some years ago, Rome - > Cairo. When we arrived and picked up our bags, a very official looking, well dressed guy approached me in the baggage retrieval area and asked which bag was mine. I pointed it out to him. He picked it up from the baggage carousel and set it on the floor next to me (this is in the secure area, remember). Then he put his and out to me, palm up.
I ferreted about in my pocket and took out a small Egyptian coin. He looked at me in disgust. He probably learned that day not to try it on with kiwis... :D

I fly egypt air every july and it's quite nice my route is from Johannesburg southafrica to cairo a 8 hour flight and an a330 they use it is always nice nice crew very super clean and great service!

We paid a lot for their tickets, they had us waiting 2 hours in the plane without giving any explanation, on our return they have canceled the flight and had to wait hours for the next available, again no explanation, they didn't seem to care at all. Pitty, such a bad impression at the begging and at the end to our trip at Egypt.

I’ve flown with EgyptAir before from London to Cairo and the plane is ALWAYS clean, service is perfect and i’ve never had any complaints

Enjoyed your video, really much more down on earth and REAL than many of the reviews (I hate Sam, and that obnoxious UK bald ginger man), Dan is ok to some degree. I flew them from Hong Kong to Bangkok on their ageing A330 2-2-2 biz class. The experience was a mixed bag. 6/10 cleanliness, 5/10 for crew service, 7/10 for large portion of tasting meal. One the deal breaker for me was one of the older more senior female crew was smoking in the toilet! The smell filled the cabin, no other crew raised a word! All that aside, the ticket price was amazingly cheap though, so I just might fly again to rack up some star alliance mileage. Between Hong Kong and Bangkok is only less than 3 hour, I can live with that, long haul no way!
The 777 in business is fairly solid on Egyptair.

I flew on EgyptAir and it's great, except that I flew on the 737, and it was filthy! It was a 3hr 30min flight from Addis Ababa to Cairo!

I flew on Egypt Air in 2002 from JFK to CAI..and some passengers were literally smoking cigarettes in the back seats of the plane.. never flew with them again
I also have heard that egypt air have a lot of new planes now.

Just got back to Calgary, AB Canada from Egypt on Dec 20th, 2022. Flew Egypt air 737-800 economy from Cairo to Luxor. It was fine, had seats around the wing area, lots of leg room, seat back entertainment, bottle of water for the 45-50min flight. Took business class back to Cairo, not bad at all! A little dated but the seats 2-2 were huge, like lazy boy recliners. A full meal was served. I rated Egypt air fairly high overall, far better than the A-321 neo on British Airways from Heathrow to Cairo and back. The seats didn’t recline and 220 people were stuffed onto this narrow body. 2 return tickets cost $2800 Cdn. Will never take British Airways again!

I'd put it on a par with US domestic airlines other than the dry airline policy. But no one shound ding them for being a dry airline as it's no secret so don't buy if you need to drink (or ask if going Intl long haul if you can buy duty free and have them simply uncork and pour for you). But if you need to get somewhere around the Mediterranean form the US, EgyptAir might fit the bill and get you there cheaper than flying any US carrier Intl anyway.
The problem is the A220 is meant for a 2-3 configuration

EgyptAir is not that luxury kind of airline BUT i think it's good and acceptable kind of airline specially for it's price and overall service on the plane is pretty good also the food is good and delicious
