I found some new style C rat cans somebody left behind. Don't remember exactly what there were but I took them home and cooked up and they were pretty good. I also found an empty 106 recoilless rifle shell container that I still have all these years later as a conversation piece. Good job all. Very period and atmospheric.

Dude, I loved playing WW1 games with my friends in school. We played in big sandpits that we had near a playground and we spent a few days digging little trenches. It was a sort of capture the flag game and whoever overran the trench and found the stick the other people hid first wins.

Me and my mates used to dig trenches in a big collapsed crater in the sand around his house, there was also a big concrete slab that we used as a bunker. I remember yelling ARTILLERY! And throwing like balls of hardened sand and it would smash like a grenade and sand would fly everywhere hah I miss my childhood

After he was sent to hospital....it was a very bad situation....but we won the war cuz that boy was their member and was hospitalized... They got one casualty.... It was fun but at the same time dangerous though..... Now I really miss those days...

The sign is very good and without any spelling mistakes.I also love it to spend a day, sometimes a whole week on surviving outside with others while playing the biggest WWII matches in History. Every time I see German steel helmets, always reminds me of when I was a child living near Hannover in the early 70s, there was an old German barracks that was used by the British army. Nearby was an old quarry which had a pile of German steel helmets and other bits and pieces. I remember watching this when I was younger actually thinking it was a real German trench in France that they just found in his backyard... while they were in America. I also thought the German grenade trap was real, so I was thinking "Wow, they could get blown up, that's so cool!"

It was called a pineapple because of the bumps of the grenade that had the the similar shape of a pineapple. The bumps were there so the weakest (the groves) parts of the grenade would explode easily and the thicker pieces of the grenade (the bumps) would be the pieces of shrapnel.
Loved the video. And you know the expression "The war is in the eyes" that moment, when you guys were just sitting there in the trench, and your "medic" was just sort of spacing out...you could almost believe that you were truly there..and he was reminiscing on all that you've gone through during the invasion.

I remember watching this when I was younger actually thinking it was a real German trench in France that they just found in his backyard... while they were in America. I also thought the German grenade trap was real, so I was thinking "Wow, they could get blown up, that's so cool!"

It was called a pineapple because of the bumps of the grenade that had the the similar shape of a pineapple. The bumps were there so the weakest (the groves) parts of the grenade would explode easily and the thicker pieces of the grenade (the bumps) would be the pieces of shrapnel.
