- Hello my friends!!
The video you've all been waiting for is finally here, spending the night in my own made WW2 Bunker and Trench!!
I know, it took a long time for this video to be online.. but that's because it was a lot of work preparing this small garden event!
Before this video, i had to restore the trench, which was a lot of work.. for instance, i ordered a lot of sand bags..
Also i had to dig a lot more, and repair the walls..
After a lot of days hard work, i have to say the trench looks awesome, what's your opinion?! :)
We always try to do it as historically correct as possible.. that's what i like.. sometimes it feels like we traveled back in time..
History is really important, and i want to share with you as much as i can!
I'm doing my best to keep you entertained, we teach History in a serious, but also humoristic way!

you know what i love about nick and his friends... they are smart enough to differentiate from nazism and german military history.. its a beautiful thing these men fought for there country the same reason id fight for canada or you america.... out of love for ones nation OR out of fear for theyre familys well being and ofcourse some for fascist ideals... i love how Nick preaches that NOT ALL German soldiers were bad and NOT all Allied forces were GOOD Thank you for keeping history alive and not censoring yourself because some people arent educated enough to know the diffrence between the 2 !

As a 51 year old WW2 collector (German), I am very enthusiastic about this. Great if you have a trench and a bunker in the garden !!

@@mjrv5719 I collect both German and American stuff and there’s a lot of good sites to get gear like At The Front and Epic Militaria,their are others but I think these are the best but getting gear to reenact is very expensive especially for the German side

Wow this is absolutely incredible. Outstanding job on turning a garden into a time machine. Very few people can say they can walk out into there back yard and walk in to a 1944 era with all items legit. And even better your actually using it. That is by far on of my biggest mottos in life is do not collect items to enjoy and show off. Collect items to use, educate, and allow them to relive their original purpose.
I feel many people out there would love for the oppertunity to do this and you are one of the few that can provide that reality. Keep making History fun!

It's so stupid that he still has to make those disclaimers at ths start of the video, people need to understand that historians are just trying to educate and show the past but they cant do that if they're overly biased, anyway I love these videos and all the content you create, it's truly amazing some of the stuff you've found and made.

@Dwarfs Gaming I am german too and I see stuff like this very critically. It's one thing to be interested in a historical topic and educate yourself about it and then make educational contend about it. It's another thing if you get weirdly obsessed with this stuff and dress up as member of an army that committed the most horrendous crimes against humanity in all human history without educating the viewers about what the Wehrmacht did. it's very irresponsible to ignore the most important part of the Wehrmachts history and glorify them when making "educational" content. This guy's fascination and uncritical representation of the Wehrmacht leads me to believe that he's uncritical of the Nazi Ideologie itself because the Wehrmacht wasn't just a regular army, they were the main offenders in the "Holocaust by bullet", ideological motivated ethnic cleansing. Because of that it's impossible to separate the Wehrmacht from the nazi ideology and it's highly irresponsible to try it.

Loved hearing you talk about seeing real footage of German soldiers and knowing exactly how it feels in the uniform etc, this must give you so much more insight into the whole experience. 👍🇬🇧
I loved watching you guys having fun living out in your German bunker just as it was in WW11. Fantastic collection and I would love to have experienced that. Makes one understand how difficult and harsh it must have been specially when one thinks of the Wehrmacht and how aweful it must have been or them after days living like that far away from home, no shows or comforts and probably hungry cold and possibly injured and terrified. Love the uniforms and having a new German guy too. I must imagine you must feel honoured to wear that iconic uniform. Well done. Fantastic

I always love the videos. I love hearing the stories that you have and hearing you describe things you find. Its really educating ad interesting. I'm trying to get into reenacting so I'm still doing a ton of research into the impression I'm going after. I keep on hitting the question of whether American medics in the European theater carried firearms. I'm wanting to do a medic impression and I keep on hearing multiple different things. Some mysteries explained:
Your esbit smells like fish because it is made of hexamine or more precisely, hexamethylenetetraamine, which has a lot of carbon-nitrogen bonds. In nature, carbon-nitrogen/nitrogen-hydrogen bonds have a pungent smell reminiscent of fish because fish contain trimethyl amine oxide, which also has carbon-nitrogen bonds.
The esbit formed crystals because it sublimes at 280 C. Then when you put out the flames it condenses back into perfect crystals. Not a good thing to inhale so be careful.
