It was not a crater. The plane just pierced the soft boggy ground, pilots body flew after the heavy engine, thus everything was bent, squeezed, but not torn into pieces. Oil, fuel, clay and swamp preserved it all pretty well.
80 years worth of rain, foliage, branches and bark shedding, as well as whole trees falling and decaying in a forest located in an already wet boggy area will raise the ground level considerably, whilst gravity will tend to act upon heavy objects. None of this is surprising. Just look at the measures they’re using to shore up the sides of that hole to prevent collapse.
There is a special place in heaven for all of you. A find of a lifetime. The pilot and his family may now rest easy knowing he is finally home, where he belongs. I was teary eyed when you found him. I think it might be the clay that creates a sort of packing material to block out some of the decay and oxygen. Well done and great respect . We often tend to forget that the people who died also had feelings , felt love , had hope . You showed that in a great way . Rip for the soldier. All the best from Holland .
Well seems a bit odd that metal parts are shiny and good looking and paper and ink are still in fine condition and just how "careless" they are while opening those things. But the pilot suit has holes and is just wet mess and pilot is totally melted, no bones no nothing...
Things like paper & items like that will not decay or rust due to Oxygen not getting to them. No oxidation was able to occur because of this, so they stayed in near perfect condition due to how deep they were.
@@simppa2 The Pilots body most likely dissolved into the surrounding mud they were digging out, it depends on the acidity of the soil & where it is. Sometimes mud can perfectly preserve a body as long as oxygen doesn't get down to it (think of it like buring a body in concrete), other times the entire body, bones & all, will dissolve into the surrounding mud due to what minerals & the acidity of that mud. The clothing & everything else will completely stay in tact tho. The oil sheen seen in part of the vid is essentially what the guys body turned into, decomposing organic oil.

You guys are doing a great service to these fighting mens families. Thank you!
Amazing determination and dedication by the recovery team. Full respect sent to you all. This man fought for his country against a cruel and evil invasion. My best thoughts and wishes for his family, heritage and all left behind. 🤝🙏
Great find guys well done I’m sure the Pilots family would be so proud of what you achieved in such an historical find!!! From a Veteran of the Royal Air Force Regiment !! Gary Horsfield
Well done and great respect . We often tend to forget that the people who died also had feelings , felt love , had hope . You showed that in a great way . Rip for the soldier. All the best from Holland .
Incredible to see the clay preserving everything. Deep respect for the things you do for the people that were lost in a troublesome time.
Its amazing to see his personal effects. Rest in peace hero of the republic. Fly high.
That was touching.❤😢.I'm from NFLD. and I salute him.
Respect and compassion for the war dead of all nations! May your young pilot rest in peace now! From the UK.
I’m amazed at how well the items made from paper are preserved especially given the wet environment they are in and how many decades they were there.
Spacibo bolshoi for your honorable, dedicated and tireless efforts in recovering this young patriot pilot. I'm especially happy that his remains and personal items could be returned to his family. Excellent work, comrades and BRAVO ZULU from California!
At the 8:01 mark, the star with the arrow on the side of the machine gun indicates that it came from thr Tula armory. I have an all-original 1954 Tula SKS with that same mark on the receiver. Heckin' cool.
Almost one century
Thank you for bringing closure to this veteren and their family. Much respect to all who serve and all who help like these folks
It's amazing how well preserved the money and the documents were found. And the pistol as well.
God Bless You Men, what you are doing is invaluable. Finding the Men who fought and gave all is a sacred duty and privilege few will ever undertake. As a Veteran I Salute you for your efforts. Returning this Pilot to his Family is such a great achievement after all the years have passed, I’m sure they are forever grateful to you.
An amazing recovery, now he is home where he belongs. God bless you.
I could not believe the state of preservation of many items, especially the TT! I'm going to put it down to a fairly anerobic environment.
Incredible! I can't believe how well preserved the documents and money were. Also the pistol still worked.
The inscription on the picture, of presumably, his girl friend got to me.
How wonderful that you managed to trace his family too.
Keep up this fantastic work to bring the fallen home.
Rest in peace Hero of the great patriotic war and to rest of the
Fallen soldiers….My respect from 🇵🇷🇺🇸
Respect to all the millions of fallen soldiers who fought in the British army and gave their lives still to be recognized......
Well done guys. A great video and a fitting end where the pilot goes home to his family. Many thanks for posting.
Many thanks to your efforts and for sharing with the world. This is fascinating.
Wow this was amazing to watch. You restored preserved the items so well. I'm happy you found his relatives.
Amazing job, such care and attention to detail. You honoured this fallen hero, and now his family can see those personal effects and feel themselves closer to him, bring flowers and pray at his final resting place. 🙏
Amazing find and your abilities to get that deep into the swamps where he and his plane has been waiting to be discovered sadly for the last 80+ years. God Bless this pilot and crew if there was anyone else aboard? But we hope if he has family still, they'll be able to close this chapter in his life of what became of grandpa or great grandpa by now. You guys do amazing work to get to these places and then going meters deeper into the muddy earth to retrieve these people and their equipment. It's amazing how when there's very little to no oxygen present how preserved these artifacts are. You could almost clean that gun and fire it! The paperwork is in outstanding condition outside of the missing photo. But if that's all that was destroyed, that's really not too bad! 😊👍😉
If the firing pin wasn't frozen the TT pistol could easily be fired. The ammo looked good too but I am sure it is forever dead.
The Mig-3 was a fighter plane manned by a single pilot.
@@MrTruckerfsure, gunpowder is wet, and firing pin probably well oiled and moves - but I bet, after 80 years the spring of the "hammer", that was in fully armed position - is dead, so it's "three times safe". I wonder, why pilot didn't release the hammer, and then pull it half way to safe mode? (((
The sidearm is amazing. Slide still actuates. Wow.
Well he certainly "WON"-the lottery,-at last,-when you gentlemen found him all these years later !!--Brilliant work all -round !!
That is a wonderful find! I'm in the US and I found a belt buckle from a Union Ct. in the Civil war.
Wow respect and love from 🇨🇦. You people are doing amazing work bringing home the fallen. God bless you all 🙏
A admiral thing you men are doing hard and dangerous work .im glad someone is taking the time and hard work to recover these men and the artifacts important history we all need to know . Great job from north georgia mnts in america much respect for what you are doing

I really love your channel the way you build the A frames and dig the deep pits in the ground to get to the pilot and the plane you are one of the best tube channels you always find amazing things I could only imagine what it must be like to live in your country and be able to hunt for all the amazing ww2 things thanks keep up the good work
I salute to this great duty done by their future generations the soldiers are smiling from the heavens
There is a line I like
“what we are today is just because of our ancestors”
The pic pf this handsome young pilot is has left a lump in my throat. May his soul rest in peace. He sacrificed his life for all of us. I hope his close family members have been traced and informed. They can be justifiably proud of their young warrior .
Amazing adventure. Thank you for this content and the end with the pilot’s photo was very emotional
Respekt für Ihren Job hier. RIP Pilot MiG 3. Voller Hochachtung. Grüße aus Deutschland. Und Danke für das Video. Gott schütze Sie. Setzen Sie die Familie in Kenntnis? Ich denke- ja.
Nicely done crew! You're amazing. Keep up the great efforts. Greetings from Arizona.
I'll say a little prayer for Alexander Egorovich, whose remains were found 80 years after his last day, yet whose memory will endure thanks to you guys. What a moral reward. Greetings from (F) Normandie.
That’s some tough material you guys are digging in, I respect all of you for the things you do ✊🏽
It is incredible that the personal belongings are so well preserved.
They can now be returned home and the terrible not knowing what, and where, can finally be resolved for the families.
You provide hope when all is lost.
How well preserved everything was... Good work 👏
It was stunning!
