- We thought it was about time we had a play with this chieftain that had been laid to rest many years ago. we started checking things over before we were ready to start it only to find a fair few issues. if you like this video make sure to like, if we reach 5000 likes well get her driving properly and take it hounding round the fields!!

These were kept immaculate during their Army service. Sad to see these beasts in such a state 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Part 2 please.
?????????
Army keeping machines immaculate baaahahahahaha pull the other leg why dont ya
Did you serve in the British Army? 9 years on Chieftains and everyone looked new. If tired returned too base workshop for complete overhaul.
Please part 2
I used to be a crewman on one of these. Sad to see it in that state. We used to have to keep them so clean.

@@fishyeye6763 I was in the British army.
Cannot understand how someone would spend a lot of cash on such an item, then if broken just leave it open to the elements? At least put a tarp over the hatches or close them.
they were cheap as fuck if not free
@@DieselRamcharger fundermentally incorrect.
@@DieselRamchargermodernish tanks are very expensive when they are new you are wrong
@@NULLIFY-fz4sj you're arguing semantics and somehow being ignorant to depreciation. Get fucked
@@DieselRamchargerThe Centurion tank was not one of the cheap ones, but quite expensive, but this compensated for its characteristics
Nick is good at leaving things outdoors with no cover and all the hatches open. His specialty.
Even covered in corrosion as she is, there is still "something" about that profile from the mid 60`s that other tanks lack 😊
@1ABL. Absolutely, the M60 although in fairness, being 5/6 years prior in service, was "big and chunky"...the T62 was quite clearly a vehicle with ww2 origins.
It's a thing of beauty
Yeah, hideously british
@@anthonylewis679в те времена был уже и т 64
Sorry mate, id say the tank that represents the 60's is the t-62. The chieftain looks cool, but it represents nothing.
that tank has the best natural camo ive ever seen!
Took us years to get it looking like that !!
@@TanksalotGBclear coat over it. Kinda like they do on certain rusty cars.
Get help from Hewes. I am sure he would
If there's anyone who can help its Mr. Hewes.
you mean ted
Don't need any help!
what he needs is hewes.... *and a foden*
@@cannack mainly the foden or the AVRY (thinks that spelt right)
Love to see that up in running. These machines should show the world how majestic they were not left to rot because it broke.
Парни- молодцы, это очень круто запустить старый танк.
Bring on part 2, really looking forward to it!
In America everyone has guns. In UK everyone has TANKS.
Lol. I've been trying to get an armored vehicle since I was a kid!
That's when you live When you die you're nothing.
I'm from Missouri, and that's the best line I have ever heard.
Especially when you can't own handguns in the UK.
You revert to battle tanks!

Yeah, go for it, parts 2, 3…. Bring the old girl back to life & glory 👍
Great video! I wasn't a tankie but spent five days living in a Chieftain on exercise. I was in the loaders seat. Spent the time watching, learning, making brews and stagging on. Had a great time.
The Chieftain is one of the most beautiful tanks, as beautiful as tanks can be. It is a pity to watch how this majestic monster is taken away by nature and time. Greetings from Russia
I can't begin to describe how much fun I had watching this
Glad you liked it 🫡, check out some of our other videos! The part 2 to this video will be out Sunday
Get her up and running..... you never know we may need her 😅
is in need allredy if russians and ukrainians are using t55 than this wuld be wery good for standards
@sturmmorser_on_blitz We tend to give vehicles a female name or refer to them as female, it is a very old tradition. Hope this helped :)
ARe you kidding me, you brits gave away your country to the Moors and muslims.... Its over for you..
So you think after the soviet union annexes france and germany they will cross the channel?
Needs a new breechblock, and the radio racks are empty.
Tankrepair vids rule! Looking forward for part 2 and many more of these repairvids 👍
Thank you, glad you’re looking forward to a part 2!
Yeah love seeing you two solving problems and having fun. Part 2 please 😂
Go big lads.... Get her up and runnin , paint job and full restoration...nice vid👍
Thorough testing as a spanner wagon and a fresh paint if it holds up !
Yes let’s see it fully functional..! ❤
Might have to be my new spanner wagon 😂
Absolutely BRILLIANT an absolute riveting watch 👍😁😂😂🙃🙃
Can’t believe you got it to run 👏👏👏👏👏
Part two . You bet 🙏🙏
And Tom why don’t you want to be reminded about the day the Manatu got stuck ?? Squelch squelch 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍😎
Ahhh that video still has me cracking up 😂
definitely pt2. thx for bringing a classic back to life.
Worked in Dorset in the mid 90s where they were developing the Challenger 2 & there was a few old Cheiftain's around being used for target practice when the mobile target bogey's were being maintained by ourselves ...........
Great getting it started. Yes love to see part 2 getting it rolling. It just needs a good clean and a bit of love 👍👍👍👍👍👍
After years of slumber, the Chieftain opened her eyes once more, and is free to roam across the very land it’s built to protect😊
Brilliant..
Cheer’s from HudsonBay Canada 🇨🇦
It great to see you guys getting this tank going can’t wait for the next video great job 👍👍
Appreciate it! Anytime there’s trees growing it’s a sign to get it moving 😂
Top job, mate! Now get it running! Cheers from Patagonia!
That tank has now doubled in value. Get it up and running. Clean it up with a powerwasher. Grease everything up. Then sell it.
Please save it, Love , health and respect from Scotland UK.
Very interesting all these tanks hanging out in a hayfield. Either a nice little museum where you guys have one heck of fine. Very interesting starting up an old warm machinery. You know quite a bit about tanks I would love to see a part two🇺🇸
impressive how imposing this tank still looks, even tho the corrosion on it probably puts it a sneeze away from being blown to dust in the wind.
Traditional tank design is great.
Smokes less than any other british piece of mechanical witchcraft I've ever seen. Less than some people even LOL. Cheers, you did great!
I’d have to agree, I’ve seen chieftains smoke out a whole field before 😂and appreciate it cheers, hope you liked the video 👍
@@TanksalotGB I was really impressed it ran like a top very smooth and yes no smoke, how is that possible, started right up....he needs to bring some hedge trimmers with him and cut back the verbs...
Wow this got me.excited I'm from the u.s.a. watching this and I really wish I was there with ya tinkering with this beast. I cannot believe how exciting this is. What a toy
I would love to see a part 2, tbh. I need to see this tank moving, now that you've got me invested
The Tech-Priest are so going into a frenzy upon seeing how we could just leave such a fine working machine out in the middle of nowhere like this.
The omnissiah does not approve
Absolutely part 2 please . I went there for my 40th Birthday and had a great day Good Job Chaps
Just came across your channel today for the first time I’m going to watch your videos I would love to see a part 2 new sub

Increible lo hicieron arrancar, ahora se lo llevan a casa y lo restauran a nuevo. Felicitaciones.
Cool video. Hope this tank remains dirty and covered in natural camouflage. Looks way cool. Hope to see more.
Remember the Chieftains and their wild-ass crews in Bosnia, 1995-96. I was on General Rose's staff, and we hitched a few rides on these lovely monsters.
You fellas definitely need to make a part 2.
I’m jealous. I wanna play around with tanks all day!
Вот это я понимаю веселье, даже завидно)
Fantastic keep going 👏
Lovely work broskis looks like a fun time 😂
Awsome that it fired up at least...If it drove too....Epic....✌️Subbing
For those who do not know, this is a Chieftan tank, one of the older models. You can tell because of the barrel, there is no gas container, the Centurion has one closer to the turret, for the chieftan it is farther up the barrel and is a different shape, you can look at images if you want.
Make it happen guys! Liked and subscribed. Would love to see you get it moving!
Check out the part 2, it’s out on our channel now 🫡
Part two please good job 😊

The fact that it ran so damn _CLEAN_ even thought it’s been left to rot is crazy to me.

Definitely need a part 2
It comes with its own turf. You could visit a golf course, and tee off from the deck of the tank! The other members will be horrified, and say things like "thats a bad show old chap!" but what is cooler than teeing off from a Chieftain tank? Part 2? Yes please!
I was sure the batteries would be dead flat. I just subscribed guys as I am a bit of a tank nut.
Outstanding! 🫡👍🏻
I use to drive chieftains in the 1RTR I’m sure you could hand turn the turret? Great vid good luck
Love you see Knipex pliers 👍
I'm very interested in this. Continue with this and many others
great video
best of luck getting it up an running!

I just saw an old american cold war era tank here in germany at a museum on the former border between east and west germany. it was an M60A3 but the cannon was filled up completely with concrete, you have to do that in order to demilitarize it, otherwise it would be not allowed standing around in the landscape that's the law here.
New to the channel! Im intrigued! How do you guys know so much about tanks?
GOOD 👍👍👍👍
i need more of those video , i subbed
We’re gonna try get a video out next week, there is a new video out already today hope you like it !
Wish I lived somewhere I could do this. would spend what I have left in life recovering them and restoring.
