    I have been able to get the inner race off by getting under it with a screwdriver or chisel and then after it’s up high enough the I use a 3 jaw puller the rest of the way. Put a washer in the middle of the hub for the puller screw to push on.

      Yeah you can definitely get it off other methods. That's just the way I've always done it and is the quickest

    Or you can grab onto the coil spring and feel for vibration to check which wheel bearing is bad

    Why do you have to remove the disc brake from the hub? Couldn't the bearing still be replaced, without the disc brake being removed from the hub?

    Do you need to do an alignment after replacing the wheel bearing?

    • @NNKH2
      @NNKH2  Год назад +3

      No but it certainly not a bad idea to check it. As long as you didn't mess with the adjustments then it should be fine

    Great video, but man, what a pain!

    Man you should never bang on a lower knuckle like that with a sledgehammer. If you crack that in anyway, it becomes extremely dangerous for the integrity of the lower ball joint. Use a wedge between the ball joint and knuckle; never hit it like that, especially with a sledgehammer.

      Yeah I suppose I don't disagree with you on that. However working in the shop for 15 years, that's the way all the mechanics did it and the method I got used to doing as well. Never seen a problem with it. It can't really bend in as long as the ball joint tapered shaft is in there. I suppose if done too hard or improperly yeah you could definitely damage it. I've never had a problem though.
