yeah, it's always depressing when that happens. sometimes you'll get lucky and only wait like 10 minutes. the great bear is the best ride there in my opinion
2 years ago i was finally talland old enough to get on with my dad and i got on and when we started pulling out i told my dad "i cant do this dad!!" and guess what he said. -.- "too late now!" and laughed. i LOVE al the ridesthere i think this is my favorite! when we went in the air we saw gum flying above us lol!!!
such an intense moment when you're waiting to shoot off. it was my first time going on yesterday because the last time I went to Hershey I was too short. i went on twice and it was such a fun ride. it's my favorite at Hershey before sky rush which I also went on and sky rush is fun as well

I went on this ride in 2005. I think that it was the longest wait that my sister and I experianced at Hersheypark: probably because it was still new (it had opened about a year before I went).
wen i frst saw wen they wer about to b plunged i was like "OH SHIT THATS THE RIDE WITH THE SUPER FAST SUDDEN LIFT-OFF DONT DROP THE CAMERA O.O" im going this friday yeaaahhhh!!!! lol i wish i had the guts to ride THAT roller coaster
@XxSuddenlyPsychotic interesting... my favorite coaster is actually the great bear... i don't really like the storm runner that much. after the novelty of it wears off, it's not that fun cause it only lasts for such a short time. the great bear is a solid ride imo.
@alain001 if your trying to say that the constant speed is given by the initial acceleration, and the coaster just rides that momentum out, you can see the ride accelerate right before the descent, like a push, not just terminal speed.
this was my first rollercoaster i went to hearshey park for a chorus field trip last year. and i went on this with my friend thinking it was one of those kid rides i was wrong

@alain001 the problem is that what you're talking about applies to a ride like Kingda Ka. However, storm runner doesn't just go up, slow down and go down. It goes up and pulls you down at a considerably high speed. The only way you can find out the real specs is to get them from Hershey.
@LaMbChOpZssc Technically speaking, toyinattic is right. The true name of that element is a "Cobra Loop". However, most people do use it interchangeably with an immelmann because of how similar the two look.
@JerseyShore117 yes its a hell of a lot taller and faster in person. Really it looks like nothing unless your on the wide. The push is amazing, you dont get it from watching the video
i was here like today and yesterday. My dad and i got in line for this and we sat down but then it rolled back. we had to get off because it closed and also the farenhiet was closed so we had to wait two hours. Then today we were getting corndogs and all the power in the park from the storm runner back shut down. It sucked..... But we got on all the rides
@alain001 what i'm trying to say is that at the top of the first hill after the launch, it doesn't slow down to 10km/h like you said in your theory. It's actually considerably fast. Your theory works for Kingda Ka because it does slow down to ~10km/h
