Thank you for displaying your beautiful 2017 Proof Sovereign. The sovereign’s gold alloy of 22k consists of 91.67% gold + 8.33% copper. This is known as Crown Gold. Its copper content gives it a slightly pinkish hue resembling rose gold. However when gold is alloyed with silver, silver imparts a slightly greenish hue. For examples, Canadian 22k Gold Proof $100 coins from 1977 through 1986 used an alloy of 91.7% gold + 8.3% silver. They have a slightly greenish colouration. The American Gold Eagle alloy is 22k consisting of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper + 3% silver. When gold is alloyed with both copper & silver, it results is a more balanced yellow colouration.

I only started stacking this year, so I have some backdating to do on this one... as it is a must-have sovereign. They are now £850 on the secondary market already! Quite an outlay, but I'm just gonna have to save up for it.

I know my subject matter is off for this video but have you seen where before George's 5th b/d sovereign was available then apparently sold out and now miraculously re-appeared as over 75% reserved and able to add to cart. What is the RM doing? Is the coin available or not? Hoping you can shed some light on this for I have only ordered from them a few days ago for the 2018 piedfort, so it hasn't shipped yet and it's coming across the pond to the SW in Arizona. Its a great coin, as for the ring - its a very cheap 925 silver ring I got from an Italian street market about 20 years ago!

This is next on my list. I really love my 2005 proof however this one is beautiful. I believe they are selling pretty fast too.
I believe they are all sold out directly from the mint! But many dealers will probably have some left I would think!

Mine arrived today.....very pleased. Packaging was average from RM. Wish the mintage was far lower for 2017 due to the historical events attached to the year. Am sure this coin will be sold out soon & the investment will pay off.
Everyone who buys a limited mintage proof coin wishes the mintage was lower! But its still pretty good and will be a great coin for an investment in the future!

I was wondering what do you think about the Quarter-Sovereign 2017? Seems very limited and cool, only 2500 produced.
I think the biggest winner will be the normal sovereign. It is by far the most popular size and weight of all the coins.
Am really pleased I got the 2012 gold proof sovereign too as soon as it was released - only 5500 were minted for The Queens Diamond Jubilee. Very nice sov :)

Thanks for the video :) Is the box actually wood? I would think it's plastic made to look like wood, but I could be wrong.
+Mitchell without cutting it up I cant say for sure. It feels nice and heavy and of high quality so I would say it is wood covered in a lacqour of some kind and finished
i ain't really one for buying sovereigns yet. guess the 22ct puts me off prefer the pure stuff. the sovereign along side the beast looks like it a pair of snow washed jeans. design is great and it probably will do well. thx for sharing

I rang a dealer today who told me the price he sold one last October for. I was well pleased.

Its it worth buging the half and quarter sovereign coins now the full sovereign has sold out? I'm new to sovereign collecting
I would say the main collectors market will be for the full sovereign. Second to them is to buy the double and 5 times sovereign before the smaller denominations. Sucks I know but the collectors will want bigger rather than smaller!

Unless it was bought at a very good price it will likely fall in value as the years roll on, it's presently important next year it won't be...
