    Juliett mentioned below but Mike Haddock’s trick is also to save all the dust and debris from where you cleaned out the cracks (not the big stuff) and sprinkle onto the new surface before it dries. Otherwise, it will always be lighter in color.

    Excellent video for diying repairs to cracked concrete. For the slight mismatch in the final overall concrete color on the slab, Mike Haduck's "dirt trick" should work. You basically rub or brush on a bit of the surrounding dirt from the ground surrounding the slab. This helps to blend the new with the existing.

    Awesome. Doing rock texture on a bathroom-cave I made, I had really good results vigorously wet brushing back and forth with a chip brush when it was about half-hard. Kinda like how painters do dry brushing. It gave it a really smooth and weathered rock sort of look.
    Wish I had known about the cement-all at the time, that would have been very helpful.

    Michael, you’re the best! I’m so happy you screwed up that pad because you now have schooled me on the repairs. My first project this spring is to repair a badly cracked & chipped sidewalk just outside of my back door. And then the bonus tip for making a cinder block wall attractive is gold. When you showed different ways to finish those sample walls last year was a bit intimidating for this novice. But tossing balls? THAT I can do.
    Let me know if your neighbor’s house goes up for sale ‘cuz I’ll be moving in. 😃

    I really want to try this dry pour, I'm up in north not all the way up but considered to be from up north, I want to do this in a fairly small area that will not have a lot of traffic, mainly I will be the one from time to time walking in this area, I have a bad back and having to carry bags and mixing this , definitely will be bad for me , so think the dry for would definitely be better . changing of the seasons does worry me a bit , I would also probably lay down a foundation for it possibly some small rebar. what you think

    So I just tried to repair some cracks, spalling, and holes in my concrete floor with cement all, and after 48 hours, it rubbed off with just my hand. This happened even in places where I laid it 1/2 in thick or more. I've never had this problem before, and I don't know if it's because of the tiny amount of set control I used or what. Pretty disappointing.

    • @MichaelBuilds
      @MichaelBuilds  Год назад +1

      I’ve never had that happen but the most common causes for that kind of failure is either the substrate was not prepped properly, too much water was mixed in the Cement All or it was re-tempered too much.

    To all of you who are hating trolls if you think you can do better then make your own video. There are many ways to do things. To note what tools should or shouldn't be used is stupid. Because before all of this new technology. What did the first inventors and craftsmen use. You should be grateful today that Trades and crafts people are willing to put out the knowledge. The point is even so called Experts make mistakes. I doubt that you armchair craftsmen know anything about the Trade. People who make content are happy doing what they do. Why don't you haters go and do something you are happy doing.
