You can buy Titanium Dioxide and it will come in a powder and be 10 to 20 times stronger. This is what is used to make that paint white. Greetings from Ontario Canada just across the border.

True, but the latex paint makes the bowls less-brittle. There are latex and vinyl additives for concrete that achieve similar results.

Soooo IF a youngster heeds the advice of one (Tom) OR the other one(Jerry) yet follows through with the other's, then said younster would be considered a fool by both Tom& JerrHy....
BUTT!......... IF the YOUNGSTER heeds the advice of both Tom&Jerry, and proceeds to cut his own path in life.....
THEN BOTH MEN ARE CORRECT& THE YOUNGSTER IS NOW THE WISE ONE.

My grandfather did something like this during the Depression.
He built a concrete block extension off a cinder block carriage house as a home. He stuccoed the coutside with concrete, then over that he put a slurry of a mixture of mortar sand, some kind of cement mix, and some sort of white paint. It sayed on and stayed white until the building was torn down around the year 2000.

There are acrylic paints that glow in the dark for a few hours after being in the sun or artificial lighting. It might be a cool experiment to try adding a swirl of mortar mix with that type of paint in it. Imagine a kitchen island that showed a river of green or blue running across it with the light out -- a very unusual night-light.

This particles are expensive to mix it to the whole table But if you pour it then strain it on top it would be enough or mix a small batch and add a layer of concrete mix with the glowing particles

Great video. I’ve been thinking about adding paint to a concrete resurfacer to add some color. Trying to get a lighter shade of brown; then adding a sealer for a floor in a patio. I was concerned about how adding the paint would affect the bonding ability, strength and durability. This video showed that the strength and durability seem to not be affected. Thanks!

So evidently there was this famous architect, Neb I think, who would mix cement with only latex paint. He would then make a frame, cover it with 3 layers of window mesh and then paint the latex concrete onto it to make roofs for disaster shelters.
The concrete roofs were super thin and lightweight but strong and durable.
The latex cement slurry is strong enough to last for 10 years plus in the sun without too much damage. Because they use latex and not water, shrinkage is near non existant, as much of shrinkage is excess water evaporating from the cement. And the waterproofing capabilities are top notch.
So yes, add all the paint.

What about adding a metallic paint or something with a fine glitter? Modern Masters makes a metallic satin in a few different colors. I've used their pearl white on a few projects for my daughters. With a white primer, I achieved my desired result of a pearlescent finish. I'm not sure if all of their colors result in the same finish, but I think it would make a beautiful countertop if the ratios were correct.

Interesting project with the paint combined with concrete, but I desperately need an updated video on the dry pour kitchen countertops! As for a project with paint (infused?) concrete, I wonder if you could actually use those 3 dimensional molds to create small statues? The fact that the bowls turned out almost marble like after coating them with resin would probably make a statue pop.

Out of curiosity.... Does mixing paint into the concrete make it hold additional layers of paint later?
Bc paint can peel off of cement and concrete sculptures.... but if you have paint in the mix already, that could act as a primer and bonding agent; so that you can add painted designs onto a mold/sculpture for even more flair.

Obviously it'd be better to start with white concrete if you want to color concrete, or especially have white concrete, but adding the white paint works if it's what you got.
For further projects, I'd like to see either something more intricate, or more artistic, maybe something more sculptural using colored concrete. Alternatively, I'm sure you've seen the "marbled" effect by swirling colored fluids, such as on marbled paper, or as is popular with some paint art or resin art, particularly from several years back. I wonder if you could do something like that with different batches of colored concrete.
