  • I'm always seeing a debate on if the Sprint Booster actually does anything or is it just a waste of money. Well, in this video I put it to the test with some good old fashioned 0-60 times. Three runs with it turned off and three runs with it turned on. So watch the results and decide for yourself.

    Nice update Mike. I have been thinking of adding this to my Solstice GXP.
    I do have this booster on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi. I have not done a 0-60 test as of yet. It certainly makes the throttle way more responsive and overrides the computers delay. Makes it fun to drive. I run my setting on the Sport mode 7.
    Cheers.

    I've been using a sprintbooster in my MX5 Miata because I like how it makes the throttle feel more responsive around town. Other than that, it doesn't affect the actual performance of the car since it does nothing to make the car faster. If you were really fast with your throttle, you'd achieve the same thing. That being said, the sprintbooster does a great job of making the car feel more responsive when gassing it, and that's why I've been using mine. It's true that in a manual, your launches and shift times affect your 0-60 time greatly. Oh, another thing that I like with the sprintbooster is that it helps me rev match downshift as well as heel-toe easier because I don't have to dip into my throttle that far to get a good amount of revs going.

      @@wholeass83 Yeah, there are different modes of sensitivity, I believe 9. You can set it to your liking. It's a bit pricey for what it does, but if you factor in the fact that you can transfer it from one vehicle to another, it's worth it because you'd have it forever. It's worked in multiple different cars for me. It probably won't for EVs...but that's a different can of worms altogether.

      @@BN99239 yea I'm deffinetly going to look into it. I've always noticed a lag in throttle response since I bought it with 18 miles. Now I know why. Apparently they set the throttle by wire to open the throttle with a little delay to increase gas milage.

      In my 2014 Porsche Boxster 2.7 it is amazing. Even at speeds of 50 mph, I press the pedal it speeds up faster. The reason is cause the throttle opens quicker letting in more air and gas ultimately giving you more force on pistons to increase RPM. I know sprint booster company will not say it increase horsepower, but it potentially can with the right car from my experience.

      Thanks. There may be a bigger difference using an automatic transmission since there are a lot of variables using a manual. And there also may be a bigger difference with someone who is more consistent with a manual transmission than I am. But I still like it because of the way it makes the throttle feel.

    Good video the reinformative but I do have to say Sprint booster has been known to give most cars check engine light as pedal commander usually stays pretty well controlled in that area and have never had an issue reported unlike Sprint booster and two of my mechanics both recommended pedal commander over sprint booster for several reasons so in my opalways go pedal commander versus Sprint booster also about Eco mode if you have a car that have an actual eco button eco button does the same thing that a pedal commanders eco button does slows the response because if you know anything about cars The less throttle you give the better you are on efficiency another reason why pedal commander isn’t a better option for older vehicles that don’t have such button like eco or sport Plus the visual of being able to see what mode you have it in also the selector is not hard or confusing at all

      No. The tires didn't slip at all for 2 reasons. 1. I didn't do a hard launch because when I do, I get some wheel hop which can damage the differential and other suspension components. 2. I had on my Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS tires which I use for autocross and are very sticky. Thanks for watching my channel... especially from Greece!!

    Wait wut? Adds no power, does not improve 0-60 time, would buy again? Why? What does it do that you can’t do with your right foot? Makes throttle response faster is not something you want for AX, and could do yourself if you push the gas harder/faster. ??

    • @MikesHouseOfMods
      @MikesHouseOfMods  2 года назад

      Yes. It does not make more power and may improve 0-60 time with an automatic transmission. I just couldn't make any huge difference with the manual. However, for autocross and even general buzzing around time....I love it.
      At our last autocross event, I forgot to put the Sprint Booster on. I knew something was a bit off all day but couldn't think of what it was because I usually leave it on all the time. Well, sure enough, it was the second to last run that I realized that it wasn't on. So I put it on Sport 6 (my usual setting) and I was a half second faster than my previous fastest run and it was my fastest time of the day.
      So while it doesn't add more power, it adds more throttle response which in autocross (at least for me), it lowers my times.
