Appreciate it Dan! I’m doing great, I hope you and yours had a great Mother’s Day! And I’m super excited for what’s to come. After this game I saw the potential of the team but then I also saw areas to improve. This team is so raw and talented. I hope Slot can develop them all into world class players.

In the summer I would move Salah on while we can get decent cash for him. The same with Nunes. I'm selling Gakpo, if it was up to me. Diaz needs to play right wing or not at all. I guess I just gutted most of our recent signings. You are right though. We acquired too many players who all need to play in the same positions. You can keep TAA as a part of the double pivot in a 3 - 2 - 4 - 1. We badly need a striker with a higher ratio of goals to shots. We could look at a couple of the youth players in this regard.
I think Nunes has set his stall out for a move to Barca. Good. I wish him well. He has worked hard, if unsuccessfully, for the team. If I was the manager, thank Christ I'm not, I would be gutting this team. 5 midfielders out, 2 strikers out, VVD out. VVD is a great defender, a great organiser, but he hasn't the pace to play a high line at the halfway line.
It has been a strange season. We have gone behind in so many games and come back to win. But we should never be going behind. Klopp's player management in this regard is excellent. He can get the best out of players, he can lift the team. I think as the season has come to a close the players have started to run out of legs. To be so close to winning the league, with 8 games to go, and collapse. This after we struggled for many games with our youth players filling the gaps. It was as soon as we had all the 1st teamers back from injury. I would sooner we carried on struggling and winning.
I would also like to place some blame on the acquisition team. They bought all these players with the similar styles. Well, Edwards and the new DoF will sort that out. Don't get me wrong. The acquisitions have been great for most of Jurgen's reign; Coutinho, Salah, VVD, Allison, Konate, Robertson, some great players. We got some well scouted players wonderfully cheap. Players who no one had heard of. So the scouting team were doing a great job. Just, these recent acquisitions are baffling. Jurgen has managed the situation well, really. I wonder how much say he had in who was brought in. I also wonder if some of these players weren't bought to prevent other teams getting them. God knows Man Utd could have done with MacAllister, or Szoboslai, or Diaz.

    • @UNCONFORMEDCF
      @UNCONFORMEDCF  17 дней назад

Yeah I’m hearing all the recent signings where either Klopp’s or Pep’s and that’s the reason why Ward and Edwards left before because Klopp didn’t want to budge on a lot of the signings anymore. Thats the rumor at least. Apparently klopp was the guy to push super hard for Nunez. Which makes sense given his stats were super similar to Lewy.
I think we may see some of the things you mentioned come true this season. It’ll be sad to see a lot of these legends go. But I think Edwards and co won’t care lol

The reason why vini jr and rodrygo are wolrd class.
Is cause benzema was there playing with them showing them the ropes, at the club.

Trent can pass well but his movement and touch doesn't fit what a real 10 can do.
The fact is in every midfield position we have players who are better midfielders than Trent. They're not as good at passing but they are better in every other aspect you need a midfielder to be good in.
I agree with the Salah take - I was telling a friend that Salah should have become a Messi and transitioned into a playmaker in the middle/false 9. Let the young bucks pound the wide forward roles.

Nah, we need a dm, we do, bajcetic not enough.
Endo has to rest sometimes. he is still human, can't play 40 games of PL.
Bajcetic doesn't have the body to play 15 games of footy per season, not at PL level, just don't have it.
You need a dm maybe two.
Cut the nonsense get us a dm at 25+yrs .
Don't matter if he's second rate, just get us a dm that can play games and has good defense that's more than enough. Even if the DM is a cb originally even that will do just fine.

Boring football wins titles man. I've got to the point where I believe football in general is going to swing back to more defensive styles, or at least make defence a high priority.
I understand we want to be entertained, but it's a lot more entertaining winning matches we are 3.1 up in.
Do you think Arne Slot is going to improve us defensively? From what I'm hearing, I'm not sure he will. I get the sense it's more of the same..
Also, you're so right about playing players out of position. It has been in the same in Rugby union for the last decade, all the best teams were doing it. However, it's swinging back to playing players.... In there damn positions... And they're getting better.... Like it's been a revelation again haha.
Playing players in their positions is just a good idea...

Thank you my friend! And Spot on. Defence wins titles they just do. Regardless of the sport. And you look at City. All their key men play in their natural positions. The only time they lost the title was when they tried to shoehorn Jesus into being a Haaland like striker. Pep learned, but he has always been big on positioning

@@UNCONFORMEDCF if you look through the season how he started off this flicks that hit the post then the crossbar deftest of touches doing the same.
So he adjusted then kept hitting the goal keeper by trying a different approach same outcome.
now decided to just blast it in hope that takes it past the keeper .. instead of sticking to what he was doing ..
It’s not like it was an open goal he still has a Gk and 2 players on the line at times to still beat ..
If people what to see a real miss go bank 32 yrs against villa when Ronnie ( Israeli)
It was harder to miss than to score .
He’s been very unlucky with some of his efforts .
How many times does the ball go in the back of the net when the ball is blasted at the Gk .
Not hit the GK and just go over the bar ..
In my opinion his confidence in the 6yrd box as taking a battering then with social media ..
A good summer break if he gets one then a fresh approach from slot ..
      He has all the attributes

I don't know what it is but Liverpool Managers from Rafa on wards always play players out of their positions yet we've got players ( youngsters ) to play in the right players yet 🤔 are not played there. I feel we collasped when the senior players came back and the youngsters dropped. I would have carried on with the youngsters as they fought games and won.

I won't miss him. He missed too many easy goal chances. I loved his effort and his ability to cause chaos, but without the end product why did we buy him. We needed a striker who could hit 30 goals a season. He certainly had enough decent chances to hit forty goals this season. Mo isn't getting any younger. We desperately need someone who can step into the breech and make up the difference. We could get Florinel Coman for 6milliomn Euros, from FCSB. He's scored 14 goals in the Romanian top tier from 27 appearances, a further 4 in the Romanian Supaligue play offs (7 games). He would be much more productive than that in a team that creates as many chances as LFC. He plays left wing or centre forward. Luis Diaz could move over to the right wing (I think Slot would prefer that).
If he didn't work out it's only 6 million Euros. We could recoup that easily.

    • @happilyeggs4627

@@UNCONFORMEDCF We need a high ratio scorer. I'm neither excited nor disappointed about Nunes staying. He won't stay long if we get a good striker. He won't want to sit out on the bench for long periods.
If Salah and Nunes both left we could get decent cash for them. Salah isn't getting any younger and his pace is slowly dissipating. We really should cash in now. It's impossible to do this at the moment when your second striker isn't getting the goals to replace him. This is why, in some respects, I see Nunes as a bit of a trap. People look and say he works hard for the team, he creates chaos when we press. These two attributes are easily replaced. Other players can do that. I want a striker who does those two things and scores more regularly. We can't let Salah go without getting someone who can score the thirty goals a season as a replacement. In the meantime Salah's average will slowly slip.

Just a thought as a fellow US LFC supporter: perspective matters. With FSG owning the team, a smart, observant and unique "not across the pond" view is helpful for those us who love LFC and aren't lucky enough to live in such a great city or grow up in its culture. (visited last summer - friendly and welcoming people absolutely everywhere). There are LFC supporters world-wide who know that being closer to Klopp gives the city the best perspective of our out-going manager that we will never see or feel - and most are envious, I'm sure. (Similar to what the Sox did for Boston back in the day when they won the WS...just a little bit, perhaps). I'm with @unconformedcf on this one.
