What We Learned From Liverpool’s Loss | Premier League Review
Decision making is experience. The reason why vini jr and rodrygo are wolrd class. Is cause benzema was there playing with them showing them the ropes, at the club. We have only one world class finisher at the club who plays consistently and the fans want him going to Saudi. Its going be rough watching Liverpool in the nxt few seasons.
Excellent point. Do you think Salah should’ve been that for them?
@@UNCONFORMEDCF _ he is trying, it's gotta be frustrating but Vini and Rodrygo did n't top the charts in big chances missed across all europe. so, it's really tough on the fans. it's a mixed bag, we have trent and maca, and salah for big chances created, but madrid had Kroos and Modric, so it's a mixed bag. good thing Nunez, don't understand much english, I hear.
Slot will fail and you will be begging Klopp to come back. If you actually lived in Liverpool you'd know what Klopp means to us.
Honestly, I’m sure I’d feel the same way if I did.
Diaz is a winger not a goal scorer But it’s his work ethic
He works hard but most of his end product is frustrating. Given how good he is it sucks that his decision making is so low.
@@UNCONFORMEDCF if you look through the season how he started off this flicks that hit the post then the crossbar deftest of touches doing the same. So he adjusted then kept hitting the goal keeper by trying a different approach same outcome. now decided to just blast it in hope that takes it past the keeper .. instead of sticking to what he was doing .. It’s not like it was an open goal he still has a Gk and 2 players on the line at times to still beat .. If people what to see a real miss go bank 32 yrs against villa when Ronnie ( Israeli) It was harder to miss than to score . He’s been very unlucky with some of his efforts . How many times does the ball go in the back of the net when the ball is blasted at the Gk . Not hit the GK and just go over the bar .. In my opinion his confidence in the 6yrd box as taking a battering then with social media .. A good summer break if he gets one then a fresh approach from slot .. He has all the attributes Making those runs scores the harder ones But the chances he’s missed this season he was scoring at Benfica 2 seasons ago
I don’t see a big player move inbound As slot likes to move players to play other positions
Trent actually was a mid all through his youth but Klopp wanted him in the side so put him as RB . But with Hendo in the side he could stay further up ..
Ahhhh. Thats something I didn’t know. I think Trent is missing Hendo the most out of anyway. He always had that cover back there because Hendo could run for days.
Good video I see were linked with kudus I’m not sure how real it is. But would you take him if it was?
Kudus is a baller for sure. Nearly 20 G/A for him this season. I just don’t think Westham will part ways with him for as cheap as we’d like ahahah. But I’d love to see him down that left or right wing for us. I always thought we would go after him after that World Cup given how similar he was to mane. But it never materialized. We could for sure use someone like him on the wings who is super productive
@@UNCONFORMEDCF spot on. We should’ve bought him in the summer He’s dynamic His dribbling and shooting would cause a lot of problem to defenders and open up spaces for our other attackers
We had Diaz. So we didn’t look twice. But we should’ve lmao
@@UNCONFORMEDCF true
I like your insights . I agree much . Better get this posted to Arne Slot n Edwards already
😂 I’m sure he has thought of this miles before I have. And thank you! 🙏🏾
I always enjoy your videos. Can't wait for your channel to have millions of views and subs. Kudos
Appreciate you big time for the kind words!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
You make some great points here my friend- it will be interesting who comes in, but i also think some players will have to move on . Agree on thd need for a new LB,CB and no 6 ,possibly a new wide forward
Appreciate that my man! And We will finally actually address these positions instead of sweeping them under the rug. We have needed a new cb for about 3 seasons now. It’s mad.
Nah, we need a dm, we do, bajcetic not enough. Endo has to rest sometimes. he is still human, can't play 40 games of PL. Bajcetic doesn't have the body to play 15 games of footy per season, not at PL level, just don't have it. You need a dm maybe two. Cut the nonsense get us a dm at 25+yrs . Don't matter if he's second rate, just get us a dm that can play games and has good defense that's more than enough. Even if the DM is a cb originally even that will do just fine.
10/10
Boring football wins titles man. I've got to the point where I believe football in general is going to swing back to more defensive styles, or at least make defence a high priority. I understand we want to be entertained, but it's a lot more entertaining winning matches we are 3.1 up in. Do you think Arne Slot is going to improve us defensively? From what I'm hearing, I'm not sure he will. I get the sense it's more of the same.. Also, you're so right about playing players out of position. It has been in the same in Rugby union for the last decade, all the best teams were doing it. However, it's swinging back to playing players.... In there damn positions... And they're getting better.... Like it's been a revelation again haha. Playing players in their positions is just a good idea... Great video dude.
Thank you my friend! And Spot on. Defence wins titles they just do. Regardless of the sport. And you look at City. All their key men play in their natural positions. The only time they lost the title was when they tried to shoehorn Jesus into being a Haaland like striker. Pep learned, but he has always been big on positioning
I don't know what it is but Liverpool Managers from Rafa on wards always play players out of their positions yet we've got players ( youngsters ) to play in the right players yet 🤔 are not played there. I feel we collasped when the senior players came back and the youngsters dropped. I would have carried on with the youngsters as they fought games and won.
We haven’t heard a peep from a single one of those kids which is the heartbreaking part. And I fear they may be lost to the system. I remember a lot of great youngsters come out our academy. They go on perpetual loan and eventually are sold by the time they turn 20. I don’t want to have this happen to this crop.
In the summer I would move Salah on while we can get decent cash for him. The same with Nunes. I'm selling Gakpo, if it was up to me. Diaz needs to play right wing or not at all. I guess I just gutted most of our recent signings. You are right though. We acquired too many players who all need to play in the same positions. You can keep TAA as a part of the double pivot in a 3 - 2 - 4 - 1. We badly need a striker with a higher ratio of goals to shots. We could look at a couple of the youth players in this regard. I think Nunes has set his stall out for a move to Barca. Good. I wish him well. He has worked hard, if unsuccessfully, for the team. If I was the manager, thank Christ I'm not, I would be gutting this team. 5 midfielders out, 2 strikers out, VVD out. VVD is a great defender, a great organiser, but he hasn't the pace to play a high line at the halfway line. It has been a strange season. We have gone behind in so many games and come back to win. But we should never be going behind. Klopp's player management in this regard is excellent. He can get the best out of players, he can lift the team. I think as the season has come to a close the players have started to run out of legs. To be so close to winning the league, with 8 games to go, and collapse. This after we struggled for many games with our youth players filling the gaps. It was as soon as we had all the 1st teamers back from injury. I would sooner we carried on struggling and winning. I would also like to place some blame on the acquisition team. They bought all these players with the similar styles. Well, Edwards and the new DoF will sort that out. Don't get me wrong. The acquisitions have been great for most of Jurgen's reign; Coutinho, Salah, VVD, Allison, Konate, Robertson, some great players. We got some well scouted players wonderfully cheap. Players who no one had heard of. So the scouting team were doing a great job. Just, these recent acquisitions are baffling. Jurgen has managed the situation well, really. I wonder how much say he had in who was brought in. I also wonder if some of these players weren't bought to prevent other teams getting them. God knows Man Utd could have done with MacAllister, or Szoboslai, or Diaz.
Yeah I’m hearing all the recent signings where either Klopp’s or Pep’s and that’s the reason why Ward and Edwards left before because Klopp didn’t want to budge on a lot of the signings anymore. Thats the rumor at least. Apparently klopp was the guy to push super hard for Nunez. Which makes sense given his stats were super similar to Lewy. I think we may see some of the things you mentioned come true this season. It’ll be sad to see a lot of these legends go. But I think Edwards and co won’t care lol
We are badly out of balance. McAllister was the one who didn't get subbed who looked tired. Poor lad was trying to get back into position when we were defending but was slow getting there. We couldn't cope with the balls in behind. We need some more pace in the back line. We looked as if we had the game under control but Mac gave the ball away in midfield, very sloppy passing. Mo again, trying to shoot or make passes that weren't there. Nunes offside when he scores a cracker. Unbelievable. All season I've been praying for him to finish like that. I knew it was offside straight away. We started to give the ball away when we looked as if we had the game under control. Bitterly disappointed.
Trent can pass well but his movement and touch doesn't fit what a real 10 can do. The fact is in every midfield position we have players who are better midfielders than Trent. They're not as good at passing but they are better in every other aspect you need a midfielder to be good in. I agree with the Salah take - I was telling a friend that Salah should have become a Messi and transitioned into a playmaker in the middle/false 9. Let the young bucks pound the wide forward roles.
Very good point about Trent. Im wondering if he can develop that, and if the 10 doesn't work where do you think his best role would be? I think we could see the best of Mo in that Messi like role
Here’s my question: if Klopp wasn’t leaving on his own would he be in the hot seat with the way this season has gone?
Good question I’d say yes
I dont think so I think theyd give him one more season.
I think sooooo. Never thought about that lol
Absolutely he’s been fraudulent
One more season because of his legacy
Dayum Roman u goin' hard on the opp eval.....We had nuffin' to gain and nothing to lose. I'm gonna see what the pundits say for the future. Fabrizio Noesitallio I'm sure will have the scoop on this...........
Ahahah Villa has really impressed me this season! I wish we had Watkins in our side honestly. I try to be as honest and non biased when judging the games as I can. Lol and thankfully this game didn’t mean much to us.
Thankfully this game didn't mean much, but if we want any chance of winning anything we cant let games slip like this. Lost of positives to take away though! Villa is a tough team this season.
Hey roman hope you're well 😊 and Liverpool looked good despite the blown lead and I'm so excited for Liverpool to have some fresh ideas and how he prioritizes the youth players more than most managers
Appreciate it Dan! I’m doing great, I hope you and yours had a great Mother’s Day! And I’m super excited for what’s to come. After this game I saw the potential of the team but then I also saw areas to improve. This team is so raw and talented. I hope Slot can develop them all into world class players.
If we're going to count Darwin "winning" us games, we better count him losing us games as well.
That’s fair too
World class is used far to freely - regardless of Darwin and so many other players with this type of statement - there is no way he is world class - I’m 60 years of age and a Liverpool supporter for 50 years - so my thoughts on Darwin - needs to use his natural instincts - cheers
Very true, Who would you put in the world class category these days?
Darwin removes instagram posts. Do you think hes breaking up with us? 😪😪
Ahaha he could be. 😭 it’s a bad romance
May I throw another theory... Salah's frustration also comes from Darwin failing to put his assists away. The number of assists which Darwin hasn't been able to put away from Mo Salah, is pretty high. There are some sitters. He's basically making Salah look bad on top of failing to score for the team. I suspect when a 'senior' player speaks out, it's gonna hurt.
I think there is something to this actually.
I think something that stats doesn't tell is just that Nunez general technique is overall atrocious, you see his ball control in smaller spaces, dribbling ability, passing technique, his ability to time his run and stay onside, and his shooting technique is all over the place. Owen was blasted when he criticized his finishing against Forest but he was right, he makes things difficult for himself. The thing is we compare the points won while ignoring the points lost in other games, or the fact that in these very same games he missed some big chances that a better striker could have converted, would another striker not have scored some of those and won other points too ? Would another striker scored the chance he missed in big moments and potentially help win more points overral ? Against Atalanta he gets a 1v1 early on at 0-0 at Anfield but butcher his finishing. If he score maybe Liverpool goes through. Things are more complicated than just stats.
Ahhhh points lost would be a good stat to calculate! How many winning goals missed. Good point good point!
Any real Liverpool fan seems to have the same opinion on Nunez: He is hugely talented, but there is frustration about his lack of clinical finishing. It's only in the negative echo chamber that is social media that anyone thinks otherwise. I said from signing day that at worst Darwin is an expensive Origi replacement, a man to come and make an impact off the bench. But regardless the Reds will always back him and we'll hear NUNEZ NUNEZ NUNEZ ringing around Anfield. YNWA
For sure! I think he does have value at the club it may not be as a main man. But he has value. I just think he may want to be the main man and choose to go to say Barca if they can somehow find the money.
well, he seems vaccinated against scoring. What can u do if your strikers doesnt score?
😅
Imagine if he never hit the post and they went in… sounds like if my auntie had a set of balls she’d be my uncle. Can we stop with this mental gymnastics trying to justify that Nunez is good enough to lead the line for Liverpool. He’s had 2 years now and whilst he’s a good player he’s ultimately a liability who’s no where near good enough to lead the line for Liverpool. I don’t know why we are still trying to pretend otherwise.
Yep...he's hurting the stats for individual players...most notably, Mo. If he ain't putting away those sitters...then Mo et al don't record an 'assist'
Dayum!
@@UNCONFORMEDCF 🤣🤣🤣
He either hits the keeper or misses the goal. With the number of chances he's handed by his team mates...he should be scoring many more.
100% but the stats don’t lie. He is still a valuable player for us. With a bit of confidence and good run we could see the best of him
At last someone with sense.
Ahaha right?
I fully believe in Darwin Nunez as footballer and next season will see the real Nunez. Mainly because he turns 25 years old and that's kind of age for any sports athlete begins their peak time look at Mo Salah for example. When Salah turned 25 years old, he had his best season by date that was his first season for Liverpool and Salah went on having unbelievable career for us. So people need time and patience.
Great point! He is entering his prime. He should have a good 5 year run from next season till he is 30.
@@UNCONFORMEDCF Exactly Roman, that's way I still have belief in Darwin will become Liverpool legend for us. He has all tools to be top class centre forward.
I’m picking Watkins over Darwin. He is a phenom. I doubt Edwards goes for him but he would be class at Liverpool!
The game winner stat is insane idc what anyone says. Not many players can single handedly win you those many points.
That one surprised me as much as the lewy stat comparison
What do you guys think? Who would you realistically replace Darwin with if you think he isn’t good enough? Also I realized I said Darwin was born in 2001 he is born in 1999 but you get the gist that he is young and from the digital generation.
I’d replace him with Gyokores. He’d ball out.
I’d replace him with Oli Watkins!!! People don’t talk about him enough. He is class! He’d probably go for a grip but prem proven and shown he can do a job
Not a like for like replacement but I think Kudus is a baller that I’d spend big on
id take Artem Dovbyk statically the most similar to Haaland
Darwin is fast, very fast. His shots and headers go in or very very close. He must stay It will hurt seeing him scoring many goals in another team.
Congrats on the 1k! And Nunez has everything to be Liverpool’s next great #9 but he has ALOT of improving to do. I’ll get behind him but he has to be more professional and keep his head down.
Thank you friend!
Hey, at Benfica he deleted his social media for a while , he closed his account due to fans attacking, so he's obviously quite sensitive to social media
I didn’t know that either. I did know the benfica fans also thought he was no good after season one because of similar things we think. Thank you for that info!
Great video on stats mate, but the only stat that matters is goals scored 85 million for the goals, is not good enough weve been behind him all season. Hes only scired 5 goals in prem all season. He has our love and appreciation, but it is crunch time. I think your missing a lot as an American fan.
I’m curious, what else should I be paying attention to? I do get that he has to do better. But the stats are telling me all the potential is there for him to be world class. 31 goal contributions is still VERY good. To put it in perspective Luis Diaz has 17. But he is praised pretty much weekly.
I think your missing the point my friend. Im a huge backer of darwin, have since we played benfica in CL a while ago. No lfc fan that i know doubts darwins potential. If he took his chances, was clinical he would have more goals than haaland. You saying he has 31 goal contributions, seriously muddys the waters, not to be rude, stats mean f all in terms of results, last few games except Tottenham game, lpool had over 570 passes compared to other teams, around 270 to 350 but we stll lost. Darwin has only scored 5 prem league goals this season. Great he scored more in cup comps, but for 85 million he's not doing the business for us. I hope he can find a way, and dovwhat did at benfica in his last season there for lfc, i pray for that. Stats are good for analysis of the pitch, but not totally reliable, the only thing that matters is the goals. I hope n pray he shuts us all up, but at the moment he just not doing it. As for assists, i think they are a bit of a nonsense. And i think those that are bashing him on the internet probably rival supporters, haters. True lfc fans will always back the team and players.
He's scored 11 PL goals, not 5. Not discrediting what you're saying btw as he does need to score more, but his numbers have improved from last season. Here's hoping they improve much further next season.
Darwin is a good player, but either our current system doesn’t suit or his level of finishing isnt prolific enough for the chances we create. He isn’t the only one who have missed too many chances - even the experienced Salah has scuffed a fair few, but as the starting CF he has to tap in a few more going forward. He has been improving so he likely will. People are lashing out but he hasn’t declined in ability, he just hasn’t immediately been a world class finisher.
Spot on. I think we still have the best of him ahead of us. I think a change in system is for sure something he’d benefit from. So let’s hope Slot can get the most out of him.
Here are some stats that will interest you Scott Danns 5 apps in the league, 1 in the FA Cup, 2 goals, minutes per goal 39 ( he has only come on for a few minutes in his appearances, apart from when he scored his 2 goals in, 30 minutes against Southampton). He has a shot conversion rate of 40% with those two goals. He hasn't scored in the PL yet, but that is hardly surprising, having only had 34 minutes spread across 5 PL games.
That’s actually kinda crazy. To have 6 apps and only 30 mins of play time is kinda weird considering how good we was when he did play.
Jayden Danns you mean?
@@tylerlong3080 Yeah, I got confused with his dad.
All I know is that With the chances that Nunes has had Michael Owen would have score 40 - 50 goals this year. This team create more chances than any other team in PL history. We need a striker who can convert these chances. Hitting the woodwork is a miss. The same as the number of shots he hit straight at the keeper. I won't call him for when the goalkeeper has made a good save. All the fans agree that every other aspect of his game is great. We love him him for his all round game. It's the important part of his game that we need, the goals. The reason he hasn't had the minutes of other teams strikers is because he has been subbed for missing shots, easy shots. We will lose Salah at some stage, in the very near future. Nunes is not capable of replacing Salah's goal contributions. Salah has missed a lot of games this season and he's still our top scorer and top assister. Without Salah's goals we slide down the table. It's imperative we get someone who can score one in two chances/one in three chances. We may have that in the youth team. Danns and Koumas are both lethal. Dann especially is a cool striker. Did you check out the backheel goal I told you about? If a PL player had scored that goal it would be one of the goals of the season.
I like Koumas (I really like this kid) and Danns a lot. And hopefully they get play time next season. Especially Danns. I think he has a lot of potential. And yes I did! Too nasty!!
But rarely scored tap in for Liverpool .. But no guarantee as the team Owen played in created chances add Owen missed a few himself . Yes he would of got more than Nunez but not the figures your spouting
@@graemebucknall2331 If Nunes had converted half of those chances. easy chances he hit over the bar, put past the post, hit at the keeper. we would be top of the table. Not just him. Gakpo has almost been as bad. Diaz has missed a few. We would be cruising to the title with some quality, clinical finishing. Hitting the post nine times wins no prizes.
@@happilyeggs4627 what the defence leaking goals .. salah , Jota , Gapko all missed chances . What about if Jota could stay fit to play more games .. It’s not just on Nunez when they can’t keep clean sheets . If we were drawing 0-0 abd it ended that way then yes . Nunez confidence has taking a battering .. You can see the anguish as he knows he should have scored more . But as fans we should give him that love he deserves as a Liverpool player .. As I’m pretty sure how he feels about himself is way worse than what we think .. But his stats as it’s pointed out are not bad not great . I’d give him another 12 months under a new approach I think we’ll reap the benefits. It took him 2 season at Benfica with a language he could speak .. Prem is unforgiving But to sit 3rd behind Watkins and haaland as forwards for G&A is a positive .. When you do the break down on his stats and look at everything he does 15 pts on his own is more than any other player in red . But to keep conceding 1st puts pressure on the front line .. we use to have it mane wasn’t firing Salah or Bobby picked up the slack . Have you forgot Jota went 30 games without scoring over 2 seasons . It took just 1 goal to open up the food gates and he had prem experience. So let’s not be to harsh on the kid who is only 24 . He’s not Owen no but Owen couldn’t do what Nunez does
@@graemebucknall2331 Agreed on the defence. It changes nothing about the goalscoring.
His job is to score goals, that's the main stat unfortunately.
True true! The stats beyond that tell me he has the potential to score loads of them though, is what I’m saying.
@@UNCONFORMEDCF Totally agree, however, I think his price tag created a very high expectation
