I bet at the start of the conversations with Unai the target was simply getting back into European football as a first step, and as a final step getting a spot in the CL. This man might get them a European TROPHY and a CL spot in his FIRST season. That is absolutely insane, hats off to you Unai.
Hell yeah, totally overperforming above expectations. Ucl actually might be too early for us next season but why not,the additional financial benefit would be great to get more better player this summer. Still need a right back,centre mid and maybe another striker.
Morgan Rogers have been an excellent surprise addition,he is much better than Ramsey,he dribble,pass better than Ramsey 😊🎉
@@jefri4176 dont get me wrong, ramsay is always one of our own and rogers is exceptional but rogers i feel needs that step back for a little bit; be a sub but he had to jump straight into it due to huge injuries to key players. etc buendia, mings, kamara. maybe at the end of this season or start of next. he may lose tempo if not

@@sunshinemoonshine4022 We probably only need to win 3 of them. I expect Tottenham to put their all into the Arsenal game but they could still lose that. Thier lineup is much tougher as they have to play the top 3. We can't rely on GD because Tottenham have Sheffield as their last game
Don't forget Spurs still have to play Chelsea man city and Liverpool away and they've also got arsenal next. 4 pts is all we need I reckon

@@SamandSteveI don't think Unai speaks Basque. Actually, not many people in the Basque Country speak it. Even most politicians there don't speak the language, just a few.

All schools and colleges in the Basque region do most of their lessons in Basque I would see the majority of people under 35 can speak Basque and in most small towns and villages it's spoken.
Most probably Unai Emery knows how to speak Basque. He's a 51 years old man with a very Basque name, "Unai" (it means "cowboy"). Not many people born during Franco's time have non-Christian Basque names. And his mother's surname is "Etxegoien", written in the standardized Basque spelling. In Spanish spelling that surname would be "Echegoyen". My guess is that he has been born in a very Basque-conscious household.
As a Villa fan i simply can’t find enough superlatives in the dictionary for this guy, he’s completely transformed our club.
The thing people were saying was we’d struggle with balancing premier league football with European football, but Emery himself said he prefers two games a week to keep the player focused & on target & there’s been no one better for us than this man.

He has done what was thought impossible already yet there is more to come much more , his level of ambition & his desire to always work his hardest & turn every stone to bring success to Villa being humble , focused & driven . He has not only made the fan base believe he made the players believe. For the hard times as a fan we have endured Unai is a gift to Villa & no matter what he does over the next few years he will always have my backing after this season alone . I have spoken to many Villains who feel the same , he will never be hounded out ever we will never turn on him he has earned his place already in Villa history . What a guy! Bloody love him..his work ethic and realism and ambition. Been a Villa fan over 40 years and he is impressive. Ron Saunders I held in high regard but Unai is another level. His news of an extension to his contract this week was the best news ever. Really feel we are going to achieve under his guidance.
If this level of performance could become consistent at Aston VIlla I would be over the moon. Sure, becoming one of the top contenders for PL and even CL in a couple years would be amazing, but let's not forget the jump from 16th to 4th in a season and a half. Not only that but we play brilliant, EXCITING football. Even if the future seasons don't improve over what Unai has currently achieved, that's still a remarkable achievement.
With Klopp and Liverpool taking a dive in the last month, I can say with confidence that Emery deserves MOTS, and if he doesn't it's an absolute robbery

When I was a boy aged 7 we won the league when I was 8 we won the European cup. That is the age that you fall in love with the game and the team that you will support for the rest of your life. MY TEAM WAS THE BEST IN EUROPE. To see REAL AMBITION AND ACHIEVEMENT AGAIN IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR.

I am extremely happy but also fearful why, I'm old enough to remember the days of Ron Saunders, had he not left the club, I feel we could have dominated the 80s....in Emery he is building a team, squad, club that will challenge for Everything, I just hope we dont get close and someone like Barcelona come in for him.....let him get his goal, to win trophies with ASTON VILLA and make history.

Lets be honest, every Villa fan would be happy if we made Europa League & had a decent Cup this season in any Cup competition! So Emery + players are a season ahead of what I expected! I just hope other Villa fans dont expect TOO much in Champs League (IF!!) AND Prem next season! Even we have a dip like Newcastle doing both, we can still enjoy the next 3 years of "consistent" progression under Unai! Hope we win Conference League, as It will take a load of pressure off the players, huge expectant fan base, and whole Club! Unai really deserves that first Villa Trophy for his incredible work past 18 months, and it will really prove to the entire Football World AGAIN, that Unai is a World Class coach, and the Mighty Villa are finally back, and on a roll! 👍

I still think Villa need to win at least two out of their last four games. Spurs have both Burnley and Sheffield United to play. They are more than likely going to win both which would close up that 6 points gap. Hopefully Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool beat them as well as put a few goals on them to worsen their goal difference.

He is quite simply a great great manager who is going under the radar. He takes a team doing poorly and transforms them without huge signings. In my opinion a better manager than Pep or Klopp. Arteta has transformed Arsenal so I don’t include him. UTV. Unai you are adored by the Villa faithful.
