Meditation is all about the present, and knowing we are living in the moment. Sounds awfully simple, but it takes years to perfect. Good luck ☺️❤️

"He can switch off quite easily" - Complete misunderstanding and it's one of the biggest hindrances to meditation. What I learnt is that if anything, it's switching ON. Thoughts rush in, pain appears, you feel restless, you feel impatient. However, it's not that these things come from meditation, we just become more aware of it. Never meditate with the goal of becoming more "peaceful", that would defeat it. Never grasp for pleasure. The only goal, if any, is being passively aware of EVERYTHING.
I think he had no intent in being rude. He has that personality. It is true that he should work on it, but also we shouldn't attribute his behaviour to malice
definetly disrespectful , his fang@ys are defending him but that was just disrespect , he didn't even know how to meditate, to just simply concentrate on breath, what an idiot
Some people blame Gordon and say he was disrespectful, inappropriate. As a Buddhist I say no. He is not. Also real Buddhists not get offended. He doing great. Thanks for doing this video.
Hi! I’m a Buddhist. Yeah that’s true, I’m not offended by Gordon’s attitude. I think he’s cute. 😂 I just wish he can spend more time to relax and meditate. 😁 He deserves it.
The key of meditation is to realize what are you really thinking of or feeling in the present moment. That's is the reason why the monk always repeats lazy lazy lazy... boredom boredom.... That's why it uses lots of time to practice because sometimes when we sit still, we usually lost in our own thought. When we realize our feeling and thought, then, we can control our actions.
I know how he felt XD As a Thai person. Who has done a bit of medication. Sitting like that will make the bottom knackered. But after a while it will go away.
Meditation is extremely EASY, if you do it right, then eventually you’ll want to meditate more because of massively unlimited HAPPINESS or bliss. 1. Relax, sit in the most comfortable way you preferred 2. Imagine a white dot at center of body, and be there ALL THE TIME. 3. The main goal is to “STOP thinking” by letting go of all thoughts and ego.
Gordon has everything in life, and does not need the simple things, such as slowing down and focusing inward and patiently nurturing your deepest thoughts and feelings, or so he thinks. He might have many things, but it exists in turbulence.
I started meditating for my anxiety and insomnia and it really does help. For me, it’s not a religious exercise really it just helps me to regulate my thoughts and emotions. Yeah of course your mind is going to be going crazy at first. It may take weeks to get used to it but learning to let your mind rest is a really great skill if you can be bothered to acquire it.
As someone who teaches meditation regularly, I can assure you that this is not a good way for beginners to get started. Stillness of mind in a world full of instant gratification and distractions galore is an advanced technique. Something much more basic and interactive would have brought Gordon to an enjoyable place.
What kind of technique would you advice people to get started with? Because I've seen great results with children, and teenagers trying out anapana. although walking insight meditation definitely isn't a good way to start.
Hello Gordon! I meditate about 2 hours a day. Starting meditation is the most amazing I initiated in my life. The benefits are countless. Try it 15 minutes or less in the morning and 15 minutes or less before sleeping. It will probably change your life too. Have a great day! :D
Did you hear the last thing that he said as he exited the sanctuary? "Where's the bar?" Those few minutes of stillness, those few minutes of being with himself, stressed him and activitated his coping mechanism of alcohol. This observation is not to stigmatize him but to alert all of us and remind us to be acutely mindful of ourselves.🙏
As a Thai, I can totally relate to Ramsay. We’re forced to do that shit for 20 minutes a day at 7:00 in the morning, every bloody day. But I swear to god we have never _actually_ meditated. We just sit there and talk really quietly.
Meditation is what keeps me at peace. If you are living in the past you are depressed. If you are living in the future your anxious but if you are living in the moment you are at peace 🙏
The monk is so kind, I can tell the positivity that meditation has done to him.
2:59 notice how the monk's eyes are white. He is doing a form of meditation where he looks up in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows at the pineal gland (third eye).
I love your understanding of what awareness truly is. Namu to you.
I agree with. Misunderstanding for starting to meditation.
Very well said.
Wonderful advice. Thank you.
This is 100% true, the Buddha taught the monks how to meditate the same way, it is called to meditate with Samma Sati (right mindfulness)

"I'd rather go for a run". Abandon escapism and add intent to the running and you have meditation.

Not sure if it was played up for the camera but he was being kind of rude. He has no respect for anything at all smh
I think he had no intent in being rude. He has that personality. It is true that he should work on it, but also we shouldn't attribute his behaviour to malice
He was just very uncomfortable. Doing meditation for the first time gets you cranky, especially if you have a fast paced life.
No it’s just his personality. He is always in that kind of impatient state. He does things fast so I understand that this is very miserable for him.
@@LucasRibeiro-po4pb its still not respectful.

Gordon needs to learn to slow cook his brain. Give it some love, make it tender.

Meditation is extremely EASY, if you do it right, then eventually you’ll want to meditate more because of massively unlimited HAPPINESS or bliss.
1. Relax, sit in the most comfortable way you preferred
2. Imagine a white dot at center of body, and be there ALL THE TIME.
3. The main goal is to “STOP thinking” by letting go of all thoughts and ego.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
That's an early stage of meditation

Here you can see how restless Gordons mind is. He didn't understand it one bit
Gordon has everything in life, and does not need the simple things, such as slowing down and focusing inward and patiently nurturing your deepest thoughts and feelings, or so he thinks. He might have many things, but it exists in turbulence.
A well made observation.
I love how this monk explains him so calmly throughout the video

Gordon meditates with a Monk
Monk:
Gordon ramsay: you are raw
Did you hear the last thing that he said as he exited the sanctuary? "Where's the bar?"
Those few minutes of stillness, those few minutes of being with himself, stressed him and activitated his coping mechanism of alcohol.
This observation is not to stigmatize him but to alert all of us and remind us to be acutely mindful of ourselves.🙏
in the end still he's gonna curse when the squid is not cooked well
As a Thai, I can totally relate to Ramsay. We’re forced to do that shit for 20 minutes a day at 7:00 in the morning, every bloody day. But I swear to god we have never _actually_ meditated. We just sit there and talk really quietly.
Where do u do that ? At home or at school ?

Monk: How'd it go?
Gordon: Now I feel as twice as bad

Meditation strips all the distractions away and confronts you with your true self. ITS FUCKIN RAW!
Monk: " Your age? You look 70 but talk like 14, think like 7 . " Ramsay: " F**k , i have a tough life. You don't understand me. " 🤣🤣
