If you don't respect that plants are alive like I respect the life of the meat I eat, are you sure you sit in the moral high ground? I'm not arguing or trying to challenge you, I simply have wondered about this for a while. Like Native Americans, who used to use as much as they could of anything they killed. To show respect for the life they took, they made sure to find a purpose for almost every piece. That is respect. It shows that you didn't just kill the cow for what you wanted, but you kill the cow for the prolonging of life of a whole village/tribe. You use the life you took for the all, not the one. I wasn't denying or denouncing his way of thinking though. In my personal view of things, I'd love to talk to Sadghuru. I'm 300% positive that he could help me find more calm and peace in my life. @Dickgirl Nationalist I dunno. I grew up eating lots of fruits and vegetables and while they're not terrible, I'm not a huge fan of them. I don't feel sated when I eat them, and a lot of times I'll feel bloated or feel hungry within an hour of eating. Not saying vegetarian/vegan is bad, it's just not for me.
@Dickgirl Nationalist that's great and all. But it curbs HGH production. Autophage and ketones are a thing. I'm very familiar with Wim Hof and vegan/vegetarianism. And while bodies can adjust, not every somatype and gut biome is the same. Each body has a disposition it prefers. Mine prefers animal proteins and animal fats. To argue with that shows you have a fundamental misunderstanding of general health and subscribe to a specific belief, most likely due to moral ground instead of factual data. There are pros and cons to both types of diets. Your brain prefers ketones as energy and can boost brain activity by upwards of 5x. No carb diets can cure type 2 diabetes, and autophage can also be used to help prevent cancer. On the same token, a diet high in antioxidants can do the same as autophage, and for people who might be sensitive or allergic to meat won't suffer inflammation. No diet is inherently better than another as long as you're getting your vital nutrients and macros.
@@josephwilliams1915 satiety is not because of vegan or vegetarian diet but because of your brain gut connection. You are used to eating a lot of dense animal fat rich food.
@@josephwilliams1915 gut microbiome is obviously cultivated and differs on the kind of food one eats. So, why does your body need animal flesh and products again? I read a lot of technical words like ketones but none that provided a reason why you specifically need meat. You put the blame on morality, is morality a bad thing?
@@bowbrat4012 No, the reason you need animal protein and fats to use ketones is in the subtext, assuming you know how ketosis works. Your body is unable to utilize fat and release ketones while you are burning carbs. Depending on your caloric needs, you need to keep your net carb consumption between 0-100g. Also satiety has nothing to do with your gut brain signaling due to what you are eating in the sense of meat vs fruits/veggies. It has to deal with macro content and gastric emptying, and whether you're catabolic or anabolic. You're going to tell me it's more flashy words. I'd recommend to both of you to go study anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. These aren't flashy words to sound smart. These are states of being your body goes through and can only be obtained through certain means. If you're not aware of the concepts and want to argue that I am wrong, you're not arguing from a factual stand point. You're arguing from a moral one, which means you think you stand on a pedestal. So, you're an arrogant and inconsiderate. Are diabetics evil because they adopt a ketogenic diet in order to maintain their health? Morality in itself is neither good or bad. Morality is good when it is good morality. Morality is bad when it is bad morality. To try to shove your beliefs down someone's throat is bad morality.

7:25 "We'll start with one day." That quote at the end of their interaction is exactly what got me eating a 60-75% vegetarian diet. As a lifetime combat sports athlete, I used to believe that I needed meat for every single meal when I was younger to be strong. But (now that I'm in my 30s) I had started with one meal a day, a few years ago, and now, veggie meals comprise a majority of my weekly nutrition and I feel fantastic. By necessity (due to veggies not being "complete" proteins) i eat a much more varied and wholesome diet that very much compliments and exponentially improves my nutrition when combined with my meat consumption (which I've limited due to ethical reasons as well the fact that I very much prefer meat that I've harvested myself via hunting/fishing.) To all of those staunch carnivores: learn how to make tadka dal, dal makhani, chana masala, rajma, and other plant based Indian meals. It will change your life for the better like it did mine and is a fantastic nutritional compliment to our beloved meat based meals 😋😋😋
Everything is just pure anecdotal, We have evidence that animal based sources are better than plant based, For example take rajma, It's not a complete protein sources and it has poor DIAAS value, So inorder to eat 80 grams of protein a day, I need to 250 grams of chicken breast but if I eat rajma, I need to 900g of rajma and I get 80g of protein but wait a minute, Since Kidney beans have DIAAS score around 80% I need to eat around 1.1 to 1.2kg of rajma to get 80g of protein I get from 250g of chicken breast but wait a minute rajma has 23g of carbs per 100g we consume, so we are getting around 250-300 grams of carbs This is just rajma we are talking about, Which is in terms of other plant based sources somewhat considered good but if we compare other sources, It's just out right laughable. Another example let's take Vitam A, Vitamin A is very beneficial for our eyes and since carrot has very high vitam A, One can assume that vegetarian get a great amount of vitamin a right? Wrong, Because all of the Vitamin A in carrot are in the form of beta-carotene and our body need to convert that into vitam A and that conversation rate is very poor, It's 12:1 but wait a minute, In order to get that beta-carotene our body need to get beta-carotene first which is locked in the fiber of the carrot and this process make it even worse. I'll give an example, Although 100 grams of cooked carrot contain about 17,000 IU vitamin A, that's only 852 micrograms of retinol activity equivalents (RAE). Whereas, 100 grams of pan-fried beef liver contains about 26,000 IU vitamin A, or 7,700 micrograms RAE So my advice that eat a balanced diet, I'm not against vegetarian food, There are many great things but to say it's better than animal based sources is outright lie and propaganda. Have a balanced diet which contains everything and yes it includes meat.
Honestly I think the key to meat eating is less but higher quality which you alluded to. The factory farmed meats that a lot of house holds eat every day I believe is genuinely bad for you, they bad for the animals, and bad for the planet. Its bad for the ranchers/shepherds because they arent paid their worth by the meat packers due to consolidation of the industry. Luckily close to me is a co-op owned grocery that has an actual trained butcher in the back who cares for the quality of the meat he cuts. The grocer gets it from local producers who raise the animals free range and natural without sending them to feedlots. The quality makes it so much more worth the extra bit I pay per kg. I buy and eat less as a result but you can really taste the quality.

Food is not about morality. It is about well-being. This is one of the simplest and crisp arguments I ever heard.
It is when your food comes from a living being that feels pain and is aware of his or hers surroundings
So do plants what's your point?@@CalvinR90

@thesinistershadow2760 proof? How do you think they know how much sap to use to cover their wound. The pain let's them know how much area is hurting. It may not be the same pain we feel but every living thing feels it. Just a few years ago scientists said fishes feel pain but it's different from us. Why not have the same experiment be done on other mammals too? No one does it because mammals can understand each other's reaction and basic emotions. That's why there's no research like that.

It's not practical.
Fun Fact: If you travel to the peaks of the Himalaya, you are likely to stumble upon saints meditating in the ice. They isolate themselves with the rest of the world for Moksha.

"We'll start with one day."
That quote at the end of their interaction is exactly what got me eating a 60-75% vegetarian diet.
By necessity (due to veggies not being "complete" proteins) i eat a much more varied and wholesome diet that very much compliments and exponentially improves my nutrition when combined with my meat consumption (which I've limited due to ethical reasons as well the fact that I very much prefer meat that I've harvested myself via hunting/fishing.)
To all of those staunch carnivores: learn how to make tadka dal, dal makhani, chana masala, rajma, and other plant based Indian meals. It will change your life for the better like it did mine and is a fantastic nutritional compliment to our beloved meat based meals 😋😋😋
Good for you mate.
Do you fart? Lol I bet you fart a lot bro 😂😂😂 meat and eggs is still the best source of proteins where it doesn't make u gassy. This is facts
Everything is just pure anecdotal, We have evidence that animal based sources are better than plant based, For example take rajma, It's not a complete protein sources and it has poor DIAAS value, So inorder to eat 80 grams of protein a day, I need to 250 grams of chicken breast but if I eat rajma, I need to 900g of rajma and I get 80g of protein but wait a minute, Since Kidney beans have DIAAS score around 80% I need to eat around 1.1 to 1.2kg of rajma to get 80g of protein I get from 250g of chicken breast but wait a minute rajma has 23g of carbs per 100g we consume, so we are getting around 250-300 grams of carbs
This is just rajma we are talking about, Which is in terms of other plant based sources somewhat considered good but if we compare other sources, It's just out right laughable.
Whereas, 100 grams of pan-fried beef liver contains about 26,000 IU vitamin A, or 7,700 micrograms RAE
So my advice that eat a balanced diet, I'm not against vegetarian food, There are many great things but to say it's better than animal based sources is outright lie and propaganda.
@@1-spartan I genuinely do appreciate it bro.
I still eat meat but learning how to make Indian plant based meals has really changed my life for the best ☺️
