Semma in Tamil means amazing 👌… Usually in Tamil if we loved the food we appreciate saying “samayal semma ya iruku” which translates to the cooking/dish was amazing.
The thing about certain cultural foods like Indian is it mostly has to be made hours before service because it’s a lot of braising and slow cooking involved. As much as I love Indian food, there’s too many times I’ve dined out where the food is dry/overcooked or not hot all the way through because of the process. The same things happen in most restaurants that are stewed based.
Prices are high - but its understandable as this is Michelin Star restaurant that caters to well-to-do and wealthy patrons Regulars eat food near 28st /Lexington Avenue in Manhattan or Jackson Heights /Queens
