I think he understands that he is only *one* of the best in the world. He is the master of his specific craft, but that doesn't mean he is the master of everything. For him to leave cuisine that he is comfortable with and for him to be willing to learn in other fields of cooking that he has never been exposed to before, I think it shows his true character. I like how the chef mentioned that indian food does not follow a strict recipe but with instincts. Thats also true in PH. Same food, different taste and different experience. That is what makes it more delicious.
I love how Gordon does not afraid to let us see him study cultures specially the food of each country. Despite he is a world, 5 star chef he is still open for learnings. Very great chef!

I go to India a lot with work, well before COVID and all that. The good thing is I guess, I go to factories, and eat what the workers eat. In some really random places. I was there maybe 4 years ago, and was served butter chicken. And honestly it was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Some old bloke cooked for the factory, he was like 150 years old lol, I had to meet him, and shook his hand. We always stay in these 5 star hotels and the food is nothing compared to the factory lunches we get.

Bro this video was made 12 years ago obviously, much like any other Gordon Ramsey shows you see online. They were not made for RUclips, use common sense
I saw the tears start to well up in his eyes a bit after he tasted that biryani. I've been there. Flavor so overwhelmingly good it makes you wanna cry. That's a special moment
I love Indian food. My first food I had was Pani Puri. We have Indian neighbors and they had it one day at the store they own. I was nosey and wanted to try it. I got hold of a pepper and it set my mouth on fire. But it was delicious. I would love to try a Tali. I love trying different foods from around the world. 🥰❤️
Remember this episode I think, back when I had sat tv. This one was very impressive, not just going all the way to learn, but also the respect shown towards another culture.
Absolutely impressive...Diving into the action mixing the spices ,carrying the rice ,cooking in the hand which is the authentic way cooks use to cook food , the Biryani preparation and cooking experience with authentic cooking Indian style ...It really is amazing to blend effortlessly and easily into an Indian Kitchen experience which is vastly different in cooking methods of other places....Cooking varies from state to state in India..In Bengali cuisine a Bengali thaali has varied items but Bhaapa Maach , Bhetki Paturi which is steamed fish smeared with mustard paste in banana leaves , Kosha Mangsho which is mutton curry cooked with ginger, garlic, onion paste with other spices Daab Chingri which is basically prawns in a green coconut... iconic dishes ....Really admired the way you had the hands on experience and participated ....
This is why Gordon Ramsay is the best chef in the world in my opinion. His intrigueness and willingness to learn from different cultures bc no matter how good u are u don’t know eveything.
@@sib1930 you say that because you've never eaten good food. Trust me, he's not. And I have not disrespected him. I just said that he's not the best, and rightfully so.
Gordon ,There are multiple types of curries regionwise - sometimes they interlap & there are many variations of each one .Also they were not called "curry" by us originally. 1. onion & tomato based 2. Cashew & yogurt paste based ( slightly sweet -korma) 3.Yogurt & chick pea flour based 4. coconut (fresh/dry) & onion based 5. Lentil based Ginger, garlic, chillies ( red or green), multiple spices are also used in various combinations depending on the region.I hope this gives u a general idea.
Even though I am a vegetarian this food looks mouth watering to me. Great job Gordon in exploring the Indian food the most traditional way. That just covers the North Indian food. You must start to explore more in the South (Chettinadu, Kerala, Andhra, South Canara, etc), the West (Rajasthani, Gujarati, Punjabi, etc), the East (Bengali, North East, etc), Central India, Indian Chinese cuisine, etc. So much love from Indians across the world 👍
Indian's Culinary is diverse and i'm impressed witj the way thay eat- using hand to show respect to food and feel them fully. I also learn lots of new words through this video: apprentice, as strong as ox, itinerary, voyage, assemble, quail, lace with, seal with, fancy places, go for the humble, dog's bullock, metropolis, dynasty, favorsome, fragrant, bland, tastless, piss sb off, bloody hell.
Gordon Ramsay is so humble. I love the way chef Imtiaz doing his job like it’s nothing he’s a true Maestro. The goat biriyani, chicken tandoori and so on this food history goes back to the Mughals era of India I have red it in food Encyclopedia. Those were the royal dishes for the Kings. India is very diverse and beautiful. Greetings from Switzerland
actually the way meat is cooked with spices is far older than Mughal empire. But the cooking of rice and meat, and saffron etc are influecemes from Perssia
I am a vegan from Ethiopia, Indian food has some similarities with Ethiopian food. We both like spices, it gives me a good option. Always I told the restaurants not to put diary products on the food they say the taste is not the same however I like it so much.
Do you know that Ethiopians have a emigrated to india centuries ago? Ancestors of Nawabs of Sachin Janjira were from Ethiopia. Malik Ambar was another ruler.
Let's all appreciate Gordan for his patience in making biryani. He was curious each second of knowing a variant of a dish from his hometown differs better.
I LOVED Gordon's Great Escape TV series from many years ago. Its beyond me that none of the FULL episodes are in this channel or are hard to find on YT. I hope Gordon buys the rights for the show soon. It would be an amazing addition to his channel.
People always talks bad about Gordon as he criticize others food...the fact is that Gordon dont want people to loss the true taste of food....people watching in some kitchen nightmares wont understand how humble and down to earth he is He dont know i even existed n i have never met him but i do watch a lot of him and i always love what he does Love you chef❤
One thing I really respect about Chef Ramsay is he's always humble and eager to learn new things that he doesn't know that's pretty much amazing to see even though he's truly good at cooking still pay respect and always open to receive new knowledge
You are most welcome. Unlike what the western media portrays us to be we are a welcoming bunch of people most of the times. Also you might not get to taste all our cuisines in just one visit. Each of our states has its own unique dishes and flavours.
oh my gosh, this video truly makes me want to visit India asap and I never even had a desire to go before. I have been eating Indian food for years made by my Indian friends on St. Thomas but even theirs didn't look like these dishes. close but not exactly. I make the US versions and now I need real recipes, not the storebought versions.
Some of the must try south indian biryanis which have a signature of their own: 1. Telangana's Hyderabadi biryani 2. Tamil nadu's Ambur biryani (Seeraga samba rice) 3. Kerala's Thalassery biryani All have their unique spices and rich flavour.
Honestly this diversity is what captivates me, I truly love the culture, if only politicians had better views rather than spreading hate, I would only live in India, love from Palestine.
@@mohammadal-khatib98 I honestly don't suggest any foreigner to live in India. They are racist towards themselves, you going there is a bigger problem.
The love, the passion of foods, being humble as he learns new stuff or recipes, the inclination to learn and grow, that is why M. Ramsay is one of the best chefs of the world. 😉
Curry originated in the Indian subcontinent and the word comes from the Indian Tamil word “Kari”meaning a sauce or soup to be eaten with rice. It consists of a mix of spices of which coriander, turmeric, cumin, and red chilies are almost always a constant.(I got this little bit of info from google. Kari it seems is a sanskrit word. The original Curries originated in South India and then spread up to north India where the tastes changed to encompass the flavours of each state. I have tasted one of the most ancient and authentic curries in a village in south india where everything was made from scratch. Now i know the difference. :)
I have almost been to every place in India ..south ..north ..West ..east ..middle. But what we they have in Delhi , makes you wanna go back ...an absolute delight. Kareem, AL jawahar, Parathe Vali gali...🤤🤤
What they forgot to mention is that the place where they are cooking is in Lucknow, Baradari. The dish they prepared is one of the most served in Lucknowi weddings. It's very delicious!!
Gordan, you need to also check out other biriyani's in india like where there are many cultures and traditions there are also different styles of making biriyani in india. in the end every biriyani is a masterpiece in its own way of making it
This is exactly why Gordon is the best. The dude could’ve easily thrown his michelin stars in peoples faces but instead shut his mouth, asked questions and remained humble lol
Yeah that's completely true. People outside Asia are completely modified the taste of Indian food. I know people from USA, Europe or UK can not handle much spicy food so the Indian dishes have been modified as per their taste. We have thousands of dishes but outside India we are only know for curry 😂😂
Iphavin been to India numerous times I think it’s sad that they have changed it for the West, it’s the best Indian, Italian and Chinese food I’ve had cause of the use of spices. I think if someone opened an authentic Indian eatery here it would do well, and it’s not the spiciest of the food it’s how hot it is. In India I never had a dish that was hot, I had gorgeous spiced dishes but not hot. The vindaloo they sell in the UK can’t be enjoyed cause you can’t taste it what with your nose and eyes running but in India it’s was delicious you could taste the spices. Though I need to say the Nepalese have a slight edge with their use of spices
Yum! Indian food is one of my favorites to cook & eat. My first experience was a few years ago now, arriving at Moti Mahal Restaurant in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The bouquet in the air was amazing. I remeber commenting that I would have what ever that was. I am not certain if both restaurants are related. I know that the one in Calgary serves delicious food.

@bunnyff2970 its about skills yea. ✌🏻🌸
This is why Gordon Ramsay is the best chef in the world in my opinion. His intrigueness and willingness to learn from different cultures bc no matter how good u are u don’t know eveything.
This quality is what i am trying my best to learn! to be a student forever!! best feeling
He is definitely not the best chef. The best chefs are authentic cooks in small towns who are not famous but true artists to their food.
@@_chapternumberone_8782Nah Gordon is the best. Show some respect
@@sib1930 you say that because you've never eaten good food. Trust me, he's not. And I have not disrespected him. I just said that he's not the best, and rightfully so.
I love Gordon's keen desire to learn. A man of true passion.
Gordon ,There are multiple types of curries regionwise - sometimes they interlap & there are many variations of each one .Also they were not called "curry" by us originally.
1. onion & tomato based
2. Cashew & yogurt paste based ( slightly sweet -korma)
3.Yogurt & chick pea flour based
4. coconut (fresh/dry) & onion based
5. Lentil based
Ginger, garlic, chillies ( red or green), multiple spices are also used in various combinations depending on the region.I hope this gives u a general idea.
👍🙏👏
Thanks for the clarification. I've always wondered what korma was🙏
rehende tu he knows what he is doung
You nailed it 👍
4 and 5 looks good. 🥺
5:38 It’s gone up in the last 5 minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gordon! Gordon! Gordon!! 🤣🤣🤣
So much love from Indians across the world 👍
Ur r welcome...come back home😂
Yo down bad 💀
Time to switch bro
But guilty feeling stops always😃😃😃
South Indian is def the atleast type of food I like (tho it's still super good) but most favorite one is punjabi food and muglai
Wow! You went to India to learn and understand authentic Indian food. Good job Mr. Ramsey. God bless.
8:46 ... You meant Imtiaz was bullshitting about his father's age 😂
Are you learning English?
I thought you are gaining vocabulary so..
When you mix rice with curries and eat with your hand it does tastes really good than eating with fork or spoon
Always I told the restaurants not to put diary products on the food they say the taste is not the same however I like it so much.
hey indian food is very diverse and in many places we dont put dairy products in our food, I m mostly vegan too.
@@SakshiSahwal The Indian restaurants I visited in my home city are using dairy products in some kind of food. Maybe they are from one area.
Do you know that Ethiopians have a emigrated to india centuries ago? Ancestors of Nawabs of Sachin Janjira were from Ethiopia. Malik Ambar was another ruler.
On a flight halt at Ethiopia, i got to taste the local food at Addis Ababa. And i agree. However Indian food is very diverse.
How one can be so humble despite the stardom that he has.. great man with great values.. salute and huge respect for this man.. 🤗🥰😎
India is heaven of Food , every city have totally different taste of same good .
Let's all appreciate Gordan for his patience in making biryani. He was curious each second of knowing a variant of a dish from his hometown differs better.
10:40 For a moment I thought Gordon Ramsay has finally met a man like him
I LOVED Gordon's Great Escape TV series from many years ago. Its beyond me that none of the FULL episodes are in this channel or are hard to find on YT. I hope Gordon buys the rights for the show soon. It would be an amazing addition to his channel.
People always talks bad about Gordon as he criticize others food...the fact is that Gordon dont want people to loss the true taste of food....people watching in some kitchen nightmares wont understand how humble and down to earth he is
He dont know i even existed n i have never met him but i do watch a lot of him and i always love what he does
Love you chef❤
Even though Gordon has a vast knowledge about food but still willingly to learn more, great respect
11:31 That rice looks so very good and fluffy. Wedding always have the best food.
Every Indian felt that when gorden said “in India they have different sauces for every dish “❤️🔥🔥
When a Master is out of their element...they're a student again.

One thing I really respect about Chef Ramsay is he's always humble and eager to learn new things that he doesn't know that's pretty much amazing to see even though he's truly good at cooking still pay respect and always open to receive new knowledge
Gordon ramsay is a philanthropist of nasa u.s.a . Man of money . Served food for many from south india to northindia.
Who's asking for wrong details?
Bro had a stroke while typing this 💀
At some point in life... I would love to go to India... Just to taste the food and meet the people...
You are most welcome.
Unlike what the western media portrays us to be we are a welcoming bunch of people most of the times.
Also you might not get to taste all our cuisines in just one visit. Each of our states has its own unique dishes and flavours.

Feels so unreal Gordon Visited India♥️🥳 it's so encouraging and just unbelievable as Gordon being one of my Favorite 💯💕
What a man he is 84 years old cooking legend!
How experienced & Specialise
Now I want to see Gordon recreate this on his own, back at home.
oh my gosh, this video truly makes me want to visit India asap and I never even had a desire to go before.
I have been eating Indian food for years made by my Indian friends on St. Thomas but even theirs didn't look like these dishes. close but not exactly. I make the US versions and now I need real recipes, not the storebought versions.
Go to south india.. more variety, healthy & less crowded.
Also, lots of beaches.
Come to Kolkata....just come...i am sure you will be spoilt for choice.
"Nothing makes me happier than when you say bloody hell" hahaha. so cute.
Love love India 🇮🇳 from Armenia 🇦🇲 amazing people ❤️
Thankyou brother
We also love Armenia
He is so humble 😊👍 Love the video .. I wish I were there to have that Biryani 🤤
Some of the must try south indian biryanis which have a signature of their own:
1. Telangana's Hyderabadi biryani
2. Tamil nadu's Ambur biryani (Seeraga samba rice)
3. Kerala's Thalassery biryani
All have their unique spices and rich flavour.
Honestly this diversity is what captivates me, I truly love the culture, if only politicians had better views rather than spreading hate, I would only live in India, love from Palestine.
Karnataka's Donne Biryani🤪

The love, the passion of foods, being humble as he learns new stuff or recipes, the inclination to learn and grow, that is why M. Ramsay is one of the best chefs of the world. 😉
Wow, the father looks younger than his age. And Everyone is friendly and those foods make me hungry. 😃😅
that fake laugh @6:05😂😂
Bro thinks he is bear grylls while narrating his journey 😅
I love too make Indian food! That was awesome to watch. Thanks for sharing this
If you love to make Indian food, you can have a look at "Hebbar's Kitchen" , and "Shaan Geo" in RUclips.
One of the finest episodes of Gordon ….!! Two Amazing chefs … with amazing chemistry ..!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I have almost been to every place in India ..south ..north ..West ..east ..middle. But what we they have in Delhi , makes you wanna go back ...an absolute delight.

What they forgot to mention is that the place where they are cooking is in Lucknow, Baradari. The dish they prepared is one of the most served in Lucknowi weddings. It's very delicious!!
Chef Ramsay says it like it is! Respect to this chef!!
Gordan, you need to also check out other biriyani's in india like where there are many cultures and traditions there are also different styles of making biriyani in india. in the end every biriyani is a masterpiece in its own way of making it

Watching these videos of Mr. Gordon Ramsey is one of my happiness in life. Foods, cultures, cooking and humbleness are roll into one.
So much to explore in Indian food. The variety is unimaginable.
Yeah that's completely true. People outside Asia are completely modified the taste of Indian food. I know people from USA, Europe or UK can not handle much spicy food so the Indian dishes have been modified as per their taste.
We have thousands of dishes but outside India we are only know for curry 😂😂
And most of these resto serving Indian food ,the owner or the cook is not even from India.
@@courageousteen1734 ya that's true but even if the owners are indians, they don't serve real authentic food.
The fact that you've been visited by the famous chef in the world, u cannot even explain the joy
I know that the one in Calgary serves delicious food.
amazing piece of montage and what a guy , so humble, we need more of Gordon in India and Middle East !
Mr. Ramsay will be humble when he knows he HAS to be...this is a such moment! 😆
Nature of a true master: Being humble in front of experts even if himself is an expert.
He's not an expert, not in indian cuisine. But I know what you are trying to say.
