I just finished listening the entire podcast on Spotify.. I came here because I wanna say something somewhere. I’ve been listening to both for so long and always enjoyed it but this podcast literally gave me goosebumps. It starts really “light” talking about a universal concern and ends in a way that I’d never expected. There is no better interviewer than Joe out there man honestly…
My mind is blown! I’ve been listening to and following Sadhguru for about a year, and JRE is so genuine and inquisititve, it was a great match. Sadhguru, “People may have separate heavens to go to, but we all come back to the same soil.” And, “if you are feeling pleasant (on earth) you are in heaven.”
I found Rogan's questions to be good at some points, then at other points he wasn't really listening to the answer. When he kept asking what the "tools" were, and Sadhguru was telling him... I realized Joe was coming from a dismissive place. He wasn't saying anything mystical and vague in that regard. Joe could have asked him what he meant by "heaven" rather than going on a long winded speech. Then later he found out what the guy was trying to say lol.
@Felix The Cat The tools he was talking about was his inner engineering program and other advaced yogic practices. You can check it out its pretty effective. It worked brilliantly for me. 🙏
I don't really follow him but my dad has been listening to what he has to say he's bought some of his books and my dad used to yell and scream and fight all the time. Since he's been practicing what sadhguru says he hasn't raised his voice anger sense so I thought he must have been bottling it up or something. So I asked him he said there's nothing to bottle up. Still not sure if I get that or not I get what you're saying but do I understand it because if I understood that I could be able to do it right
Don't think the foreign exotic "guru" knows anything you won't find in the pursuit of knowledge of self. It exists in everyone. They fool westerners to think it's found only in India or Tibet. Rogan had the perfect amount of disrespect by challenging him
The greatest thing is that Joe goes through a whole lot of development talking to such people. And he has the capability to let others go through it aswell. The reason there is something authentic happening in these talks is because Joe is not keeping up a show but talking authentically. This is the best basis for anything.
My grandfather told me this all the time. In much simpler words, you and you alone are responsible for your happiness. You choose he be happy or sad. @@The10lfunk4 you may be too young to think that deeply. Everyone has a chance at happiness, yet we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot. Can we make earth a living heaven? Yes, but we ARE mucking it up. When you get older, you'll open up to the possibilities that it's not all about you. What the gentleman said may be true. But, we won't know until we're done.
It IS a big load of bull. You can NOT be blissful, joyful and all of that good stuff, if external factors don't allow it. Yes, you can learn to make the best out of very difficult circumstances, but you can not completely disconnect yourself - and your tools (thoughts, emotions and body) from external factors. It's not possible. There are many things that can influence us and if we do NOT like these things, we will not be happy, while they are influencing us. And that's just the reality for the common person. But it goes even further. There are forces that can take control of you in some ways. They can influence your bodily reaction, your thoughts and emotions - EVEN IF YOU ARE CONSCIOUS. Even if you are not unconsciously living. Reaction is instant. Becoming conscious of the reaction ALWAYS follows the reaction. You can't be conscious of something, that isn't there yet. So if something "triggers" something within you, wether you LIKE what it triggers or not will determine wether you will be happy or not after it got triggered. Sure, you can try to let go of that and focus on something else.. but life is not just ONE trigger, you take control afterwards and are happy. No, life is TRIGGERS ALL THE TIME. Yes, you can, to a certain degree, control these triggers, but you can NOT control them all. And while you can control your long-term reaction, you can NEVER control your initial reaction. So IF, for some reason, there are MANY triggers that trigger an initial reaction that you DON'T like, you will NOT be happy most of the time. Don't trust gurus. Every single guru is a liar. They give you the illusion of a solution, and because the solution works to SOME degree, they will be able to make you think/feel like you're not following instruction well enough for the solution to be perfect.
"Yes, you can, to a certain degree, control these triggers, but you can NOT control them all." What I mean by this is, for example: If you get triggered by people on twitter, you can avoid twitter. But you can't just avoid EVERYTHING in life.

@@idfwpwdfwm Sure I think most people would agree with that statement in a way, but what I think @Kane kinda summed up is he does ask questions that most people would ask in our society, and sure Joe changing the subject an moving around the points Sadghuru is making is joes own ego slipping thru the cracks of the questions, but again he is human an I feel even though he diverts the point, he does do it genuinely enough that allows many people who watch this podcast a more gradualistic understanding into what Sadghuru is saying.

Sat down for the entire podcast and I say this is how it's should be done. It was great. Joe was amazing in handling the conversation especially when Sadhguru was reluctant to talk about certain things but as the conversation went on ,they were both comfortable talking about it. This is what most media lacks. Other media often try to belittle the guest, be judgemental and try to look superior. This podcast is the best example of how we should be able to listen to the opinions of others without judging. Have decent conversations without interruption. We don't necessarily have to agree on the topic or opinions of others but we can always respect it. The lack of proper conversation is why the world is in the mess we're in now.

The “tools” he’s talking about is changing your state of mind about your reality, everyone lives in their own reality. Earth is 8 billion realities colliding. Only you can control how you feel about yours. Turn your losses into wins, keep a good attitude, train yourself to think this way. It doesn’t happen overnight but you can make your reality feel more blissful. Just accept that you can’t control the universe, only how you perceive it. One of my favorite quotes idk the origin: -we can’t control the weather so we might as well enjoy it.
Totally agree. Not that I’ve done a great job at doing it or anything, but it’s true when applied for sure. I did hear him mention breathing, accepting yourself and your surroundings, bring still and blissful- whenever joe asked what the tools were. Downloaded Spotify again to watch this interview. Lol
Sort of but that doesn't always work like ideal, and if it doesn't you must have learned how to handle the reality of the changeing reality affecting you, to put it that way. A very basic simple thing is to accept your own death. And you don't choose when it will appear. Once you have accepted that death is always lurking above your shoulder, you realize that the human ego is only there to help you survive in the most basic ways. Use it for that. Once that is done, put it in the drawer for later. Esotericism is just an escape from reality caused by the modern lifestyle's "downside"; the sword isn't hanging above your head in terms of resources available. Once it does, you will lose interest in magic and superstitions pretty quick. No god is going to find you food, no LSD trip is going to, and no daylong meditations (although they can of course make people relax and save energy if needed for that person by long-or shortterm situation).
"Who told you, you ain't allready in heaven an you are making a mess out of it?" That literally gave me chills the more i thought about it, realising that I am wasting this heaven by burying my head in drugs an alcohol to feel better 😞

It is awakening slowly but surely. People do not want to admit they are the inhabitants of beasts they must tame least they be consumed by their own nature but in time they will. You inhabit an avatar of flesh and bone. That which constitutes consciousness is the same in you as an in I. The only difference is the experience generated relative to space, time and probability. There is no past. There is no future. Only the ever present now and the more you attend to it the better things will relatively be. It isn't that there was a singularity at the beginning of the universe. It's that we are the singularity. All there has ever been, all that is and all that will ever be is a single point of energy. All the power of God and the one thing he could never have is meaning thus man and our struggle to understand ourselves and all that is. How lucky, honored, horrified and all the rest are we. It isn't that nothing matters. It's that everything matters.
It means that often we operate our lives unconsciously and impulsively allowing our habits to guide how we live our lives instead of actively and consciously playing a role in our day-to-day moment to moment decision making which will vastly improve our life if we operate ourselves that way

I think what Sadhguru was trying to explain is that people can learn to have self awareness and the will of wanting to be better. If we dig deep we can solve our own personal problems/issues. Those are the tools we have to help ourselves however not everyone makes the effort.
I think the way we can solve the world's problems in Ray Kurzweils singularity. There are about 5+ technologies that will all lead humans living immortally perhaps in virtual reality (although able to inhabit robots etc...) as inventing one of them will cause the other 4 to be invented very quickly. Think about Replicators, quantum computers, super-AI, neurolink, and "super energy". We have to focus on the bigger picture and not focus so much on zero-sum ideas. These technologies can be invented in about 15-20 years if we all focus, but may take 3x longer if we lose track.

“What is needed is a conscious response to life…” this perfectly sums it up for me personally. So much of my responses to things are automated to reduce the energy cost since thinking on a deep level on all things is exhausting. But it’s also so rewarding and I think taking away all other subtexts this is a pure and vital nugget of wisdom.
Hey bro I think you'd benefit from listening to his book, because it's not about thinking on a deeper level, it's about being conscious, that involves your whole being .
Without a concious response to life we can be doing all the right things, but not with real conciousness of the importance of each thing and of each moment in time, which will make us VERY easy targets for those who are jealous of us and/or have no morals and want to use us for their own gain.

And now I'm starting to realize that in the larger scale of things these small things don't matter and nobody ( with the exception of your family ) gives a damn about you, they just look for their interests. Being carefree helped me overcome these obssesive thoughts. Thank God I got ( still in the process ) rid of these thoughts at the right time, or else I was getting too paranoid, bigoted, closeminded, obssesive, hypertension. And now I see the world in a much better and a positive way. And the Inner Engineering works indeed. I learnt the process in 2021 and will never forget the exact date… because it changed my life. As he says: In is the only way out.
I have been doing Sadhgurus practice for almost 3 years. I am a natural skeptic, with a logical mindset, having worked as an engineer for almost 5 years, I am 31 years old. I have done the inner engineering meditation called shambhavi once a day without fail for almost 3 years. And I have also done the yoga routine for over 2 years (8 months daily initially starting at 5am daily without fail, then 4 times a week without skipping a week, even when I was sick). I understand what Sadhgurus means when you transition from compulsion to consciousness. It is nothing mystical, it has improved my life significantly, however I still have a long way to go, so I will continue for many years to come. My advice is to be skeptical, but if you wish to invest yourself into something to see what happens do it totally. The only reason I have been doing well is because I wake up before 5am every day and have a do or die mentality. If you look into the existant reality the things which we have created are the products of our mind, so you can understand that there is an influence that is coming from the end of intellect/mind which is of another dimension I'll say dimension for the lack of definition but what sadhguru speaks is not of belief is not of thought yes there is a possibility that thoughts can support us in various ways as the person above gave the example of placebo effect although contrary to the popular ideas and beliefs maybe even facts that is established within particularly western societies you can stretch further to a point where you can take charge of your mind in such a way that it works beyond the physical realm or without the support of physical activity you can put your mind into work within the physical realm as long as you use the assumption as tool to creation but in the case of placebo effect experiment you can clearly understand that assumption has been used as tool to know which is a serious mistake causing people to create superstition rather than clarity of perception and deep understanding of the mechanics of existence in that context what sadhguru speaks about is an established science and science is not just something that happens only inside the laboratory.
@@hendikaf3525 Agreed, his best answer to pretty straight forward questions was quoting almost directly from his book inner engineering. Very vague answers.

@@brianm5753 Some tips to meditate, most important one is to be in a peaceful environment with absolutely least or no noise so you couldn't be distracted easily, being under dim light also helps, second is to relax and try to make your mind empty by removing all unnecessary thoughts like you are about to sleep but not really. Do this after a strenuous activity and when you are tired, your body will automatically demand oxygen and then let go of your breath and let your lungs fill on their own, your focus will be on your breath which is trying to relax and come back to a normal state and you won't even have to strain your lungs to inhale. This practice daily will help you learn to adapt to meditation and concentrate with ease rather than trying too hard which is the opposite point of meditation
@@brianm5753 I learned to be still and listen by attending an Al-Anon 12 step program regularly for the last year. There may be five or fifteen different individuals in the one hour group sessions. While each individual is given a few minutes to share their experiences out loud, the rest of the group, including myself, are sitting quietly and just listening. No cross-talk, no advice-giving, no interruption. This is the best kind of open eye meditation that I have experienced in my life. I have found it is a 'safe' environment which develops honesty, humility and openness for all involved. My emotions become 'very pleasant'. It is magical and simple. The 12 step programs across the world are far more transformational that I would have thought a year ago.

I think Joe Rogan has set the bar very high in the world of information exchange. Whether you agree with the guru or not, you have to respect the fact that this podcast is taking the time and energy to interview so many different personalities and expose the audience to a multitude of perspectives. I hope it continues along this path of engaging people from all walks of life because our modern media and entertainment simply does not cover issues with this kind of intensity. I feel like the media, both left and right, is so polluted with political sound bites and “entertainment” that we rarely get to see a deeper aspect of human culture. I understand Rogan may have his controversies here and there, but beyond that, he is making an absolutely amazing contribution to modern media. Great stuff, keep it coming.
Sadhguru (jaggi vasudev) killed his wife in 1997, look into it. He’s a narcissistic cult leader, just a very successful one. A lot of his stuff is based off of osho. Joe rogan is a layman’s interviewer, he represents the average man in an interview, to say he’s set the bar high is ridiculous, he’s in no way an educated journalist who fact checks and is critical of primary sources, he’s just an average guy, and that’s great….but don’t think it’s more than it is, there’s a reason most of his guests are the alternative types
Taking full responsibility for one's inner state is the core that combs out the complexities of personal need for each person. Sadhguru is pointing out in practical terms, that there is an ancient method to an undisturbed, bliss-filled inner world that all of us can achieve. In this lifetime, or future lifetime.
His Wife sure did. She managed to Yoga herself so Hard she went right into the next life. And that's totally not an excuse by her husband who offed her lol
Joe expects an instantaneous method that solves addictions, Sadhguru is offering a methods of finding personal methods that are the foundation to solving anything including addictions.
Then why doesnt he say that? First he says its bad that heaven has collapsed in peoples minds (which I took to as 'meaning') but then he says its a good thing. I get that he says that everything else being able to influence you can be bad, but a better and more practical way to go about that is to trying to engineer your enviroment and chosing the people you spend most time with that will get you where you want to be in life and spiritually. But he flip flops so much that I just see him as those psychics who try to say anything youd agree with, he keeps flip flopping and trying out different things just like them. You cannot not be influenced by others, but you can change your environment.
@@Subs1338 yeah but thats the illusion of control you may side yourself with static people and expect yourself to be exceptional even if your kind support you in the most generous manner but you will always be common. Hi AN! Reading your comment leads me to distinguish between Christianity and All "Religions". They All say, in one way or another, do this and do that and maybe you'll make it to Heaven. They All comprise man's attempt to get to God. BUT, Christianity is completely different! (,Maybe I shouldn't use the word Christianity since it is tossed around so loosely). The Entire Bible is about how God Reached down to man! By sending His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to Pay in FULL for All of our sins by shedding His Precious Blood on the Cross as Payment! Salvation is a Free Gift to be Freely received! Jesus Christ did ALL the Work! We need only Believe on Jesus Christ as Savior and we are Eternally Saved! John 3:16 is the Heartbeat of The Bible! LOVE! So, religions say "Do", but GOD Says "Done"! Freely Receive Eternal Life by accepting Jesus as your Savior! There is no other way to be reconciled to God Who is HOLY! Jesus took the penalty for your sins so He can Dress you in His Righteousness! Jesus's Resurrection is the most thoroughly documented FACT in All of human history! He is Exactly WHO He claimed to be! Jesus is The WAY, The TRUTH, and The LIFE! You can accept Jesus Christ as your Savior Right Now! And Know you are going to Heaven! Not because of anything you did but because of what Jesus did for you! His last words on the Cross were "It is Finished!" Your sin debt has been Paid in FULL! God's Gift to you! He LOVES you!!! I am Praying for you! 😀💗😀
"Your success and failure will both be accidental"..... shook me. I started manifesting PTSD symptoms a year ago, re-examined the last 16 years of my life and realised SO MUCH of who I'd become, the choices I'd made, the delusions I'd lived by had stemmed from 1 dark night. In hindsight can't believe I couldn't see it, but now I see I was having an unconscious impulsive reaction. I'll never get those years back and I'm having an unconscious impulsive reaction to this realisation. I want to know how to break this cycle.
You already did. Experiences without reflection become banalities. In your case, you've realized something about you by reflecting upon past experiences. Now, you have the information to change into the person you wish to become; a better version of yourself. All those years you deem lost have led you to this point. Don't look at it as wasted years, but the time the universe took to prepare you.
Good for you! Don't measure your shortcomings prior to your success. The fool walks away without the lesson. Sometimes the hardest things we go through deliver us to the best places we've ever been.
I think I can relate. The one thing I know now is to leave my past. I'm not that person anymore. I have to see future. I have to invest my time on what to do tomorrow and not what I did yesterday. But the problem is I'm not able to come out of past. I'm trying hard everyday.

for me what worked was realizing that our emotions, our thoughts, our anxiety, our fears, those are not us. they are thoughts. they are things that are impermanent. there is no real danger happening. I have PTSD from abusive relationships and im trying to recover also. first of all i moved out. stayed with my grandparents for awhile. socialized to see how normal people behave. then i always remind myself that the thoughts and fears, they are just thoughts, nothing more. it is like the thoughts are the clouds, they form and they may rain and they may strike lightning. but I am the blue sky. i am not the clouds. I am not my thoughts. I am me.
Joe is great, he never lets him preach. What this guru always tries to do is get the other person to agree with everything he says. He knows a lot of stories and often pulls one out of thin air that seems relevant to the question, though sometimes it isn’t. Then he starts telling the story and forgets the logic. He doesn't answer questions logically. Better you find some great monks in monasteries. They are very logical wise & always telling truth.

@@vladg4522 my thoughts exactly

This guru is a performer and charmer.
One of my favorite quotes idk the origin:
-we can’t control the weather so we might as well enjoy it.
Except crazy people do attempt to control the weather and hurt all life doing it. But you might as well enjoy it.
No god is going to find you food, no LSD trip is going to, and no daylong meditations (although they can of course make people relax and save energy if needed for that person by long-or shortterm situation).
i think this is the best comment ever
The tool is not changing your state of mind. That is the result of using the tools.

So much of my responses to things are automated to reduce the energy cost since thinking on a deep level on all things is exhausting. A Conscious Perspective
Without a concious response to life we can be doing all the right things, but not with real conciousness of the importance of each thing and of each moment in time, which will make us VERY easy targets for those who are jealous of us and/or have no morals and want to use us for their own gain.

Joe Rogan and Donald Trump were both guys I thought were not my kinda people, going years back. But it's amazing how someone may surprise you if you keep an open mind. Keep up the good work Rogan , Trump, Peterson, Von, and you too Jacko Willink!

Always remember, you aren't your thoughts. Good luck on the journey man!
@@Nick-7 great advice mate, I occasionally have to tell myself this
You must have faith in the universe and pay attention to its messages
You're not alone, even I have these obssesive thoughts and I feel that I am obliged to something or someone. Maybe you have OCD, like me, I've wanted everything to be perfect and yeah my failures taught me that I am far from perfect and I decided to give myself a new life, a new start
You gotta try ISHA KRIYA then. It's available on YT free of cost
I felt really sick this morning, bad cold, had very little sleep, I just did my session at 5am, and I actually feel significantly better. Any time I get sick, after I do it, I feel 40-60% better.
Peace
No comments or likes from someone who ACTUALLY does the practice, but plenty for the skeptics and critics. Thank you for your efforts
This comment was powerful. That's amazingly difficult to accomplish. I'm so happy for you.
Which yoga routine are you doing?
You felt sick, did something that you thought would make you feel better, and you felt better. That's called the placebo effect.
Amazing Content. Joe has a gift of being straight to the point.

If he explained it like this Joe would’ve understood better but he just talked about his inner engineering shit which probably really does teach what I just explained in a longer version, but he should’ve gave the short version for an answer
The reason this podcast is most important over all the others. The idea of still having a real conversation and a debate about it. Respectfully and intelligible. 🙏🏻
And how he is genuinely intrigued to learn perspective. And intelligent with his critical thinking processing.
Thanks, Joe. Are things making more sense now?
Have you seen
Post Malone meets Elon Musk
It’s hilarious!! 👽 😂
That requires actual research and genuine conversation. Mass media doesn't have time for that AND spouting the government's propaganda
To get a great answer, you need a great question. !! Thanks so much JRE. I can relate 100% to what was said in the final minutes. Sadguru was extremely thoughtful not to emphasize on the mystical things because passionate seekers will go there anyway but the purpose of this great podcast is to keep it straight to the point, simple and largely understandable to everyone. God bless you GRE.
