You have to have a certain level of understanding and experience when it comes to spirituality to understand Sadhguru. Based on the comments I read, it looks like a lot of people appreciate and “get” what Sadhguru is saying which is wonderful. For people who might struggle with his words, please let me share one story. I went to Portugal few years ago and was just wondering around. I ended up passing by a building that made me physicially stop. It felt like it was calling me in. As I moved into its direction, I experienced an intense wave of emotions like never before. I felt calm and joyful. I was perplexed, but also curious. I went in and there were people coming out of the room into the main hall. I asked what was happening inside, and they told me that Mooji was inside. It’s mindblowing how limited our understanding of life and energy is. There is no need to believe in anything. Just stay curious and life will guide you home.

Have you considered both of those being toxic ways to live? How about sacrificing your own time and energy for the good of others? Like, your family or community. When you think living purely for the sake of hedonistic pleasures, it breeds narcissistic and pathological personality disorders across society.

    • @jmb8989
      @jmb8989 5 месяцев назад

@@landojefferson7215 Can you be peaceful and joyful while sacrificing? I think so.
In regards to hedonistic pleasures, they are so tricky. We work hard to create hedonistic pleasures to be enjoyed by all. Specifically when we give our family television or entertainment and good food but then those pleasures poison the masses when consumed in abundance. Hard work is good for me, kicking up my feet and absorbing the television is bad for me. I know this from experience. I don't know what to make of these pleasures except it is up to the individual to moderate for themselves.
Narcissism and pathology is what I see among those who have glued themselves to television and social media. I think most people, especially women, on social media are miserable with envy because they're seeing the best of everyone's lives. Most social media lives are so incredibly fake they're not even versions of the truth. I always felt inferior when I observed others' lives on Facebook. Someone looks prettier using a photo filter, someone looks like a better parent, someone seems to have a better career. These things are often illusions. Leaving Facebook was like a religious experience. Life feels more beautiful without it and I like myself better when I'm comparing myself to who I was yesterday.

I guess most people don’t get Sadghuru, because he speaks in a very spiritual way. And most people have closed their eyes to their own spirit.
If you need a meaning, hear this: LIFE is simply to be lived. It’s a gift that was given to you. What you make out of it, is simply your choice, either you wanna feel miserable or joyful. You decide. You cannot control everything around you and what will happen to you. What you can control is simply the way you choose to look at it. And by doing this, you are changing the world simply by existing. And hear this: if you ever felt rock bottom, you know the pain. I suffered for over 20 years. But I needed that to understand. The pain, the suffering was a gift from life itself to push me to what I needed to see. LIFE ITSELF. To simply be and live.
People are running around trying to be something else than themselves. Trying to fix things outside of them they cannot control. The universe is abundance/ intelligence itself . There is nothing to be fixed other than the way we look at it.
If you need help realising, go read all the wise people and their teachings and you will see they’re all talking about the one same thing. Wake up to life. The pain will stop when you stop chasing after any expectations or outcomes and simply allow yourself to be you and see what is already here 🙏🤍

And knowledge is always old, and so you cannot 'know' you are awake - to be awake is to be free of knowledge - your statement is self contradictory in the extreme and displaying a complete negation of what you claim to be. Afffirmations are words and repeating words makes the mind mechanical and listening to another turns your life into a second hand human being. And from this position, you call yourself awakened?

@@legs1157 When a man claims to be 'awakened' he needs be careful what he says for what he says conveys his understanding (or lack of it). Always the case, for no one who understands life would ever seek to brag about it, as the state you proclaim is absent of self interest. Now, in full awareness of the danger of trying to teach pigs to sing (no offence) I shall attempt to point out your copious errors. There is no journey. There is no path to truth. Truth, is a pathless land. Either you see it, or you dont. And you dont. And seeing is immediate, not a matter of time, for all time, is now. This illusion of a 'journey' is born from societal brainwashing conditioning, which is a movement of seeking achievement in a process of becoming in projected time, which is a pattern programmed into the brain cells of every child from school years and is an absolute curse to our race as it divides our every action and places our lives in a continuity of illusion. To 'become' in time. As you think you have become 'something' in cliaming you 'awakened'. There is no 'becoming' anytihng in life, all life is now. 'Becoming' removes our awareness of the present moment, which is the only creative moment of life, it places our focus in a future self projected illusion which is a continuity of our past and divides us all. Time, does not exist outside of human thinking, which is memory and so there is no 'me' to awaken. The 'me' is a societal concept resting on identity held in the memory cellls of the human brain and this 'me' is a movement in time itself. Words and images forming an identity, otherwise known as the human ego. Another societal conditioning. When you say 'you have a long journey' - you are referring to an illusion reaching for an illusion. Is this Sadh's wonderful influence over your life? I would not be surprised. You talk of a 'next lifetime' as if you know this to be so. This is accepted traditional 'knowledge' handed down from others and nothing you can possibly prove or have found out for yourself. You will find out when you die what it means to die, best find our when you live what it means to live, and you cannot find that out from the words of another. Reincarnation is also false narrative. Death is an ending not a continuity. The death of the old is the beginning of the new, not the continuity of the old into an illusory destination reached through a 'journey'. More educated accepted unquestioned second hand nonsense, I am afraid. Thought is this old in perpetual continuity, an 'awakened' past of self is still auseless bag of words and images dividing one mans life from anothers. All thought is memory, thought is what you have accepted in life, memory is knowledge generated in the brains memory cells and the human self (that which you think 'reincarnates') is nothing other than a bag of inner words and images gathered from the past. Ni child is born with a human self, for it is based on language and educated into us. Is that what you think worthy of 'reincarnating'? A bag of words and images on automatic playback?? A societal limiting brain rotting conditioning? It all ends when the brain cells end or it can end before through penetrating awareness and understanding of its societally programmed mechanical ways. But this is not anything like as easy as accepting the words of a conman with a long beard coining from your gullibility, this is real work. Arduous work. Not to be led into. Self led, or not at all. For who can read the book of what you are, other than yourself? So, no next lifetime for the human self, which is a bag of memories gathered. Memory ends when the brain cells die, although the human conditioned consciousness continues, which is a ubiquitous feature to every human brain. There is no 'individual', so no individiual 'journey'. The word 'individual' etymologically means 'indivisible', and the human mind is a deeply divided place, for memory (knowledge) is fragmentary in nature. Also, knowledge divides bewteen the thinker and the thought, both of which are movements of thought. Divisions in life bring conflict and this is why our world is such a conflicted place as we all act from thinking and our thinking is so divisive between us, same structure, differing content based on past recorded experiences. There is no 'me' outside of this. No human being shares the same past and so the structure of self, identical, is divisive, becasue the recordings it contains are all different based on necessarily different past recorded experiences. The human self is the same structure in every human brain, which is millions of years old, and so you, are a representative of the entireity of humanity, though you seek to raise yourself above others by claiming yourself 'awakened'. This is similar in nature to the man who seeks to be a success in business and a matter of insane cultural and religious programming which insists, quite wrongly, that we are all individual 'souls' and that success is the right approach to life, to rise your status over that of others. There is no journey to happiness, my God, you are so full of your journeys. There is only now, there is no other time, the past is dead and the future is a mental projection, it is always now and so there is nowhere to travel to and nothing to become - and so either you are happy now - or you are you not. To seek happiness in a journey is to continue a state of unhappiness. You would not seek it if you had it. Think about it a little. Questioning leads to much greater understanding than accepeting the words of little bearded coining conmen. Or repating affimations putting your brain to sleep. And have a little humility lest some other comes along who can see right through what you claim to be.

I think this was a excellent interview.
Sadhguru is very good at providing thought provoking metaphors stories and questions for people to reflect on.
many people think this is to dodge answering a question but in truth he is trying to guide everyone listing to awareness/Consciousness.
I appreciate how Steven facilitated this interview, there were a few times where he miss understood things,
and Sadhguru cut him off to correct and redirect the stream of thought back on track,
Steven handled this well without letting the ego cloud his ability to listen and learn.
To make Sadhgurus point more clear you can control what you are experiencing internally, your state of mind.
However the typical western mind allows their experiences to become their identity their persona.
He is saying we can all learn to let that go and experience bliss, by directing our attention inward.
when you do this enough eventually you will understand your stream of thoughts is a reflection of your environment, and a survival tool.
eventually if you just observe them without attachment they will fade and you will start to experience bliss.
fastest way i have found to experience
dont worry about meditating just breath comfortably
start to recall as many positive experiences in your life as you can remember how it felt, or things your grateful for.
if you cant do this then just focus on forgiveness and letting things go.
any negative thought let it go, positive thought remember the feeling,
dont become attached to either negative or positive.
eventually you will be in bliss enjoy it and realize this is always available.

and how does that work exactly? what exactly can a person become wise about that helps them if they’ve been physically abused all their life? they should be wise about avoiding abuse later? how does that help them avoid being wounded by it, because in reality most people who grow up in abuse choose abusive partners, while people lucky enough to have loving parents choose loving partners. it’s not that the latter are wiser, their brains were wired differently by their experiences. and to say just be wise is so simple it’s insulting.

@@twilit You’ve said their brains are wired differently, that’s where the treatment must be applied to by rewiring. If people decide to be in an abusive relationship and let it happen that’ll be their choice specially in the 21st century. If there’s a will there’s a way. I’m not talking here about physical ailments which is quite inevitable. With meditation there comes a point where one understands the body is different to the mind with that understanding you can watch your thoughts, feelings, wounds independently and that leads to conquering the mind.
Ofcause it’s not as easy as it said but it’s also easy as said too. If you learn core Buddhism and practice genuinely you will be able to tread the path to heal. Yet again we all are differently exposed to situations, Cultures, understandings and perseverance. Don’t try to solve everything with logic. Where science ends where spirituality begins. Don’t expect a magic wand to change but innocently learn from people who may know better than us. Remember life is really short and not worth being wounded and regretting at the last breath. He basically interrupted Steven every single time, feeling so entitled, always making a words salad NOT answering the most compelling questions (nor any of them, in fact). Steven repeatedly tried, and rightfully so, to make a point about the danger of AI with nuclear weapons etc. and the "guru" goes on and on talking about how letting a machine calculate everything for us would be wonderful because that way we would not think at all about those kind of things and we would focus on more important things. I say: bullshit. Focusing on doing things the best we can is one of the most enjoyable AND joyful things in life. Life IS made of that, and enjoying making efforts to achieve goals IS NOT a threat to the consciousness. In fact Mr Guru contradicted himself cause... wasn't he who stated that to learn the alphabet or to do any NONsurvival activity you need to put some effort into it and focus? (To learn techniques and stuff like that). Everything worth doing needs a will effort from within. So... seriously his argument pro AI was that?? What's wrong in having a machine doing everything instead of us trying to understand the process and doing it with our efforts, so that we don't learn anything anymore? Do I really need to explain why? How naive, purposefully stupid and manipulative of an argument is this?? For starter, let's just say we would become (and in fact are becoming) more stupid every year that passes, as a society. Also, does it occur to this guy that the calculator could do such things BECAUSE a human being created it and knew how to do it? Thanks to human efforts?? If nobody knows anymore how to do stuff because a machine does, we basically let the machine control our lives. If we let AI take control over creating and controlling other machines, in one or two generations there won't be any expert anymore to teach anything to anyone, we will have forgotten everything and thus lost all our power to control the machines themselves. Also, what about the pleasure, the JOY of discovery and learning, which is the key experience in life itself?
This dude is total fraud. Be aware. Trust your guts.

There are enough great people out there giving practical, positive advice and he knows that more is not needed. What’s needed is to look within and for which there is no verbal answer answer. Once you start looking within…..you just know.

As Steven quickly points out, the machine in Mumbai does not "think".
As far as bringing a larger number of every day people into having a spiritual component to their daily lives, Sadghuru would not be effective with this. People who have more balanced ideas that incorporate both the internal and external material world, and the challenges of each, would bring far more people into appreciating beneficial spirituality this century of humanity.

I got confused, because Steven didn't reflect at all on anything Sadguru said, or did he cut out these parts? After such profound answers and insights he must have taken time to let it sit in himself, no? And think about it himself deeply, reflect upon it and ask may be then even deeper meaningful questions. But Steven asks right away the same question again in a different manner. I just hope, that he listens to Sadgurus answers again and then realizes himself the simple profoundness, which would save him from having to ask all these questions again. Of course - as he believes in life meanings and missions and that it is his mission to ask many wise ppl here for us, that it is a somewhat a crux for him. But I am very grateful to Steven to invite Sadguru and asking him these questions for many of us out here, inspiring us, to turn to our simple truths in each of us, buried deep down because of all Western education amd media bs.

The All-Knowing, The Wise, The Creator of Everything Said:
{Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for the wise.
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [resting] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and there are no helpers for the wrongdoers.
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise."
And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated or were evicted from their homes or were harmed in My cause or fought or were killed - I will surely remove from them their misdeeds, and I will surely admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow as reward from Allah, and Allah has with Him the best reward."
Be not deceived by the [mercantilistic] wanderings of the unbelievers, on earth.
Because it is a transitory enjoyment, and its abode will be hell. What a dismal abode.
But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allah. And that which is with Allah is best for the righteous.
And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you [O Mohammed, The Messenger of Allah] and what was revealed to them [Jews & Christians], [being] humbly submissive to Allah. They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

Intensive agriculture since the 1950's coupled with agrochemicals being sprayed to crops on mass inc fertilisers, herbicides and fungicides, weedkillers like roundup etc are all destroying the biological life (soil) in the areas applied. Yes these things are applied to reduce crop loss from insects etc eating plants however they have created a much , much larger problem.
The first problem is mass mono cultural farming - it is completely unnatural for one crop to grow over many hectares, - for life to thrive you need diversity of life. This mono culture limits the type of biological life that can thrive in this area and so the type of insect that does like that crop becomes very abundant and then a pest. The irony of applying pesticides to kill them is that it further destroys the soil/ecological cycle.
The agro chemicals of all types, work their way into the soil and all other plant life and destroy the soil-food web of life which otherwise carefully balances itself. The chemicals also when consumed by insects are passed on to their predators e.g mice, rats, then birds etc causing ill health of those populations - bioaccumulation. Humans that eat the crops are also ingesting these chemicals which in turn cause all kinds of ill-health and diseases. There is a LOT of research into the chemicals and plastics present in humans.
The answer to all of this is Organic farming
there is a great book by Jeff Lowenfells - Teaming with Microbes that explains all of this www.jefflowenfels.com/

Sadhguru is so good at explaining this. The answers we seek are never going to come from outside of us. The only way we will survive is if we go within and connect with our inner bring. All of the answer’s we want are waiting for us if we quiet our mind for 15- 20 minutes a day. It’s that simple.

I know I’m late to this one, but this was such a fascinating interaction between two very different people! You have someone who is extremely logical and analytical, who dictates his actions by what makes the most rational sense, having a conversation with someone who is more spiritual (not necessarily in the religious sense) but who guides his life and decisions through introspection and shifting his experience of reality through perception. It’s like the opposite ends of the spectrum, but they both make sense in so many ways! It’s old school enlightenment meets modern day intellectualism. This episode was a very special one indeed!

Intellect is one of our senses. It isn't equal to consciousness. It's only a part of total consciousness. Talking and analyzing isn't going to help you figure it out. Many people have never experienced Samadhi and never will, and that's the tragedy.

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping 5 месяцев назад +6

Dharana and dhyana lead to profound Samadhi. And science can't explain it and they don't understand it. Looking at brain waves during Samadhi doesn't explain how or why it occurs. It's self-evident that consciousness transcends our limited senses and dimensions.
It's exactly why observation is a physical act, yet within the quantum wave function, observation holds no unit of measurement. How? How is observation a physical act, yet can't hold value in this dimension? Then where is the observer coming from? It's clearly from another dimension.

I admire how intentional Sadhguru is with every word. You notice how often he corrects Steven when he uses certain words by saying "that is not what I said" then bring it back to plain, simple words.
Steven will use a word that can easily have connotations that are judgmental, controversial, or just more extreme than what Sadhguru intends. Sadhguru brings it back to basic words that don't have these qualities, and you see that using a path of logic with basic words is much more clear and effective than trying to use a fancier word.
People often use certain words to make themselves appear more intelligent, educated, wise, etc. Yet, they often misuse them or ignore the implications of that word, thereby showing that they do not have a deep understanding of that word or were not listening well.
Do we want to educate ourselves and others, or do we want to impress people? Trying to impress people is like putting a veil of your ego over the simpler, clearer picture of the truth.

While I appreciate Sadhguru and often enjoy listening to him, I find that he articulates his ideas using our communication tool of language more complexly than required. In contrast, other speakers, like Alan Watts, resonate with me as they express these profound concepts in simpler yet profound ways. It's essential to recognize that, regardless of the source or method that helps us understand, once we've grasped the message, we should metaphorically 'hang up the phone' and begin living the experience, seeing the message in everything.
Listening to these spiritual and philosophical speakers can be enjoyable, but it's apparent that they are essentially saying the same thing, albeit articulated in different patterns of words. Rather than spending hours on RUclips, we could find the same realization in a short Zen koan, reminding us of what is constantly present in the here and now.

What resonates with me is what he says is we have the most we ever had and are still not satisfied. I kept telling people during the pandemic we are the most equipped generation to experience a pandemic being able to use devices. This is our first pandemic not the worlds.
My grandmother I remember was living proof of what the last pandemic that happened a century ago. She kept every item that came through her hands and found ways to be resourceful with so little. I remember her giving me sealer jar rings to play with taught me to connect them to make a skipping rope. Whatever is in front of you. There is a path to choose. Whatever you choose to invest your moment in you are not choosing the other thing.
What can you make with your hands in front of you? How will you use the body you were given despite all its settings and appearances. Those are irrelevant. It’s how you use the “guide” you have been given. It’s the condition revealing how you are treating your human experience. You can see when the operator has left it’s cavity. Right before death and in some of these drug use videos I’ve seen recently of “vacant” humans on drugs
For example if someone sees abuse and says nothing they still chose something. Doing nothing is a path choice. We are creators of the future. In every moment we are sewing into a virtual blanket of time. Your life is one stitch in the blanket of time what colour or direction of pattern will you choose?
We have more power than we realize but technology and the governments are trying to maintain a sense of control because the benefit greatly from having a system of power so we are kept confused and made to feel I’ll equipped to keep up making us question our relevance which then creates the instability of sense of self. Think 💭 how much more we could improve if everyone experienced confidence and met their maslows hierchy of basic needs? I also wonder about Artificial intelligence then is it just the prediction of the terminator movie? We got this. I think….
