How to Fix Stick Drift in a PS4 DualShock Controller

In This video we'll disassemble and clean out a PS4 dual shock controller that has some drift in the right stick. My son recently started using his old PS4 controllers while playing Apex Legends on his CLX gaming PC. He prefers using a controller because the aim assist is pretty forgiving in Apex so the movement he gets with the controller outweighs the slight loss of accuracy when aiming versus using a mouse and keyboard. These controllers are over 10 years old now and both of his have stick drift issues. First I attempted to fix the red controller and made a critical mistake pulling out the first ribbon cable, essentially bricking the controller. For my second attempt I rewatched my guide video and realized that I was supposed to just pull the ribbon out of the socket and not remove the sleeve protecting the pins. After successfully getting the controller apart I was able to clean the stick sensors with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and put the whole thing back together after a quick cleaning of the whole controller with iFixit Screen Saver., we tested the controller and declared the stick drift fixed!
