The customer service towards the gentleman who recognised the sandwich preparer (or maybe vice versa) was above and beyond. Little things like this are noticed and make a massive difference to the customer experience.
What?
The gentleman recognizing the prepper also improves the employee experience as well imo. Helps us feel less like robots.
i used to eat there 5 days a week. got to playing video games with some of the employees

I recently had JM's for the first time in almost three years since my brother past. It was hands down his favorite sandwich place to go to, it felt like he ate there once a week. So anytime someone offered to me something, it always felt weird and I turned it down. Now, almost three years since he past, I finally shared a JM philly with my father. And oh lord, it was so good. Probably one of the best philly's I've had outside of Philly.

Being from the east coast, Baltimore to be exact. I’ve had many Cheesesteaks especially from Philly. Now that I’m in California, Jersey Mike’s has been the only place to even come close to what I’m used to! 🔥🔥
After watching countless cheesesteak videos on RUclips to research and being from CA, I came to the same conclusion.

When they opened up Jersey Mikes in Michigan I was so happy they have the best cheesesteak out of the fast food sub chains for sure.
My favorite sub is actually the 17 but I usually put mayo and bacon on it (the bacon really adds no flavor I just like the crunch) I recently just started grill and all my co workers say I go a bit aggressive when I’m on grill but this video helped me that I don’t need to slap the tools around to get the job done

The thing that passes me.of the most is they don't have a stack of cooked onions. Up there on the jersey shore that's how they do. A great chain dumbed down for efficiency

lived in NJ for 25 years. Sussex County and cape may county. never tried jersey Mike's. random board walk burger joints always had fire Phillies. next time I vacation I'll make it a point to try it. looks Hella good

Those are my go to, I get the Chipotle chicken if I'm not in the mood for beef. I get it the way it comes but I add jalapeños because I love the extra heat 🤤

great job, although why put the steaks on with the paper? when I worked there in high school & college, we dropped the steaks on without the paper...
also why does jersey mikes not use foil anymore for the hot subs? I've noticed this down here in NC too - when I worked there, all hot subs were wrapped in the paper and then in foil before putting them in the bag...
He might have done that if the paper sticks too much to the meat when cold or frozen. Perhaps? Either that or they tell him touching the meat and then touching the sliced brick of cheese afterward is cross contamination. Who knows? He might be in a lazy mood and just loves to work those tongs. I used to twirl tongs like a helicopter propeller. Myself? I can also flip two pie/cake plates, one in each hand simultaneously.

Why am I watching this at night, now I am starving for a chicken Philly. Seriously Jersey Mike's is the only place where I will get a chicken over a steak philly and not because the steak is bad, it is delicious but because the chicken is that freaking good.

From going fro shift lead to manager. What are some tips you can give ?
Honestly the best advice I can give you is just act like it's your own store. When I had the chance to be a lead, I treated every shift as if I was the owner, when customers started to ask me if I managed or owned the shop I knew I was doing something right lol. Communicate as much as you can, be on time always, lead by example, train hard so you can manage easy. If the opportunity is not there at the store you are at now then my best advice is branch out to a different location and apply for the management position. All JM's need staff and what better candidate then one that wants to grow within the company. Just make it known to your owner if you have the opportunity.
@@EDandAJ I try being a good leader I’ve had people tell me the same thing due to me working high paced and having the crew always have something to do. I try being supportive to my crew too and I hope I do well.

Subway has gotten rid of sourdough bread and pastrami and certain cheeses. I paid 15.00 for a new sub they have and not worth the price. Jersey Mike's is worth the money all day long!

Anyone know how good the gluten free subs are? A new Jersey Mike's opened up in my town and I've been scared to try it.
It’s not as good as the regular bread but if it’s your only option it’s not bad. I would recommend asking them to toast it on the grill a bit it gets much better.

My Jersey Mike's doesn't give me half of that steak. You have to add lettuce and tomatoes to get a decent sandwich.

I noticed you didn't use any vegetable oil. There's no oil used to cooked the meat? If not, I'll start buying food there.
No we don’t use any oil. The only time we do use oil is for the portobello subs.
They don’t melt the cheese?
I always say the same thing! I tell them to put the cheese on the bread and add the steak on top. This way my cheese doesn’t end up all over the damn paper! 😂
