I love that passage-piaffe transitions. Ridden so perfectly without loosing rythm or stumbling around.
I love how she gave him a "good job-pat" and cried at the end. It's sadly not that common in high class dressage. And can the horse please give me some dancing lessons lol?
I know right me too
fearless fijalla giving them a pat is a very common way of saying good job to the horse :)

I really like how well the rythem of the music goes together with the movements of the horse! 😍

love how she's keeping almost perfect balance during the whole thing. posting when needed, not being to stiff. I seriously need some kind of lessons from horses at this point I can't even spin without taking a few steps of balance. TEACH ME YOUR WEIGHT TRANSITIONING MAGIC YOU LEGENDARY HORSE
Oh my god ikr!! I've been riding for 8 years and I don't have that kind of balance 😂

This honestly made me cry at the end
why??
she and the horse were perfect in music and dance, I loved it God bless them . it was majestic, watching them brought this 75yo lady joy in my heart, thank you, thank you,,love MIMI. from Tenn., USA

That was the best choreography of a freestyle dressage I have ever seen! The horse was in perfect time to the music all the way through. And the horse stopped at the end at the very moment when the music ended. Totally perfect in my view!!! And Laura knew how perfect it was. Kudos to her and her horse!
I agree, and I thought she should have won.
@@sarajane5306 She should have taken silver rather than bronze. The Dutch rider who did win it, has some dubious methods of training and made some nasty comments about the winner.
Martine N. I know that . I said she should have taken silver . The Dutch rider won the silver.. perhaps you misunderstood my text.
then you need to watch valegro and Charlotte breaking the world record to the music of how to train your dragon
This was good but the best I've ever seen was a glorious grey, Blue Hors Matine, who was hoof perfect and the timing was spectacular! Sadly no longer with us but still on RUclips. Fabulous.
LOVE that she is at the Olympics but took the time to pat her horse at 4:42!!!! Wish all horses were treated this way!!
Just brilliant .. brings tears every time I watch it ..x
I can't stop rewatching those flying changes 😍 They're so on beat!
The fact that she is riding a chestnut just brings the whole thing together.
Gianna Nannini Genau mein Gedanke!!
Ive never took interest in the dressage before, i must say its an absolute art to watch! I love it, its amazing
Beautiful horse❤
It doesn't look good. This horse is amazing but the rider looks hard and heave in her moves..
All this looks heave and strenght..
Magdalena Procyszyn j
Well she made it to the Olympics and you didn't soooo🤷♀️
She did come second in the olympics and she was not bad
The horse was amazing, the rider left a bit to be desired, but then again, shes the reason why the horse could do what he did. Although she looked a bit stiff and her feet were almost touching the saddlepad at times, which kinda looked ridiculous.
I honestly love how into it the hirse was, ears up, big movements and very little tail movement, he seemed to like what he did
However i really enjoyed this, wonderful to watch!
Beautifully done and so much fun
For me personally she is a bit harsh with her hands and it looks not as harmonic as it could.
But beside from that her Ride is on point and especially in the trot parts (and variations of trot) the horse's movements fit perfectly to rythm.
My sis was just in the Lion King Junior Musical, so this is pretty much us combined! That horse is beautiful, the rider was sooo sweet at the end! 🐴 ❤
That has nothing to do with this Musical Freestyle!!
What a honour to watch I’m in tears 😭

Most elegant Hakuna Matata!
I was there . It was soooo hot that day , we had tickets for row D but didn’t know until we got there that rows A B C didn’t exist so we were on the front row . I cried LOTS
It’s amazing how deftly she uses her feet and hands to direct him. Of course, the horse knows what to expect after lots of practice but it’s cool! No equestrian worth their salt would let their hands and feet flail about! Awesome :D
SpiritWolf but do you understand that the horse is in an extreme amount of pain, metal bits, spurs, hard hands, no give, muscles being strained and pulled. The horses don't do this naturally it is forced. If you were the horse, how would you feel?
SpiritWolf l
Amber Poeppel I do agree with some things you say but all the dressage moves seen in this video are exaggerated natural movements that you would see a horse in the wild do 🙂
Life.In.The.Saddle No it's really not what wild horses do naturally. I've never seen a wild horse do a half pass, or a canter pirouette, or run around with it's head behind the vertical and it's poll tucked. Wild horses don't do these things. You should actually research wild horses.
@@amberp.8279 i know this is an old comment but still. . . if this horse was in "an Extreme amount of pain" it would have its ears back, swish its tail, and play up in other more subtle ways that are hard to pick for an inexperienced person, so mentioning these things is pointless, it would be like explaining things to a rabbit. i don't really like the way this horse was ridden, the rider looks quite rough and jerky, but the horse seems relaxed and comfortable all through the test, no signs of distress. and i cant judge the rider too much as i haven't ridden that horse, he may be a rough ride, some are smooth as silk, some quite bouncy. but i want to assure you, that dressage when done correctly, is not painful for the horse. the bits are only as harsh as the riders hands, while its just sitting in their mouth it doesn't hurt them, a small amount of pressure doesn't hurt them either, its when you yank and jar them that its an issue. spurs are used so the rider can do more accurate ques, they hardly have to touch them, especially at this level. and they don't stain and pull their muscles, they build them up over a long period of time, it takes ages to train a dressage horse for this level of competition, they don't just pull them in completely unfit for this. its the same as building up any muscle, it takes time, and as it gets stronger it gets easier and the level steps up.
the amount of uneducated people in the comments lollll y’all have no idea what you’re talking about
I could not agree more! To say anyone can do it is tripe. I already said even if i won the lottery, I could never aspire to win a Grand Prix. Maybe Medium level and that would be that! If I were born Usain Bolt, maybe I could win the 100metres. It was a superb performance. Such a pity she went away to have multiple kids and gave up at this level. Apart from Hester and Du Jardin, she was better than the other team riders now.competing for team GB. Yes, they are multimillionaires. Their place is to die for. I watched a BBC program and was drooling at the environment. Only Carl Hester's one is better.
Beyond beautiful ~ so moving 💓
many people call this horse abuse. but this is not abuse, this is verry well preformed. 👏👏👏
Perfect dancing!! Wish I could download that medley Im a huge lion king fan
You can
★Pilgrimspass★
I think she looks terribly stiff in the upper body, and a ton of jerking on the reins! It would be nice to see a rhythm without her body convulsing, along with her jerky, jerky hands! But beautiful
@@bentem.s8449 do you know where I can find this lion king medley?
Zoe Addison you can screen record it? Or just search up online!
So clever a horse. It looks like a naughty gentleman.Good job
If riding is not a sport then soccer is neither.I mean you just run around like stupid and kick a ball in a square thing.
Nice rider and beautiful horse unfortunately I fell the horse wasn't actually dancing to the music there were a few bits in the music that did not suit the gait. Pity about the head carage of dressage horses these days... so unnatural.
But hey weldone on ur performance and achievements
Schade 😕
Only me who think there is too much hand in her riding? U clearly see it on the horse head it is being a bit rough ._.
Annii 97 yes, I was thinking that too. My ridding teacher always tell us to ride just with our legs and try not to use our hands in order to not hurt the horse's mouths
Yup she is being a little rough..
Tursiops 👍
Yes, there is too much of it. At first I thought it's probably just me being too critical. But then I compared this to for example Charlotte's performance at London 2012 and man, there is too much hand in this video.
Yeah, at this level people should know how to ride without pulling in the rain so hard like she does. I dont know her horse and he might be a bit tricky one, and I am not perfect in my hands as well. But i am personally not comfortable at watching such use of hands.
i’d love to see her train in her own stable! it would be so cool!
This horse and rider where the the reason I started horse riding
For me it's always crazy to see him because he looks like an exact copy of my Horse.. they could literally be twins. But my Horse would be the Lazy Twin... idk if you guys still ride competitions, but i wish you good luck! You did a Pretty Good Job Back then!🥰
Excellent!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more perfect dressage round.

Mistral is a gorgeous animal
She's way too hard with her hands, working against him, so it looks very heavy and not as playful and light as it should. She doesn't give him the space he needs for his movements, he's a quite big horse and she seems afraid to let him go a little more foreward. I mean if he wants to run, he will and she couldn't stop him anyways, so there is no reason for trying to pull him back and all the time trying to be in control. And he seems very confident so she doesn't have to be afraid he would spook 😌
Well said! I also looked like she was trying to mine diamonds the way she was digging in with her spurs.
OMirus Yes, that's true and you can see where she was using them on his belly, which shouldn't be 😞
Hi Ali Dost, I can see where you are coming from but do you have to post your opinion if its not nice. Yes she is a bit heavy with hands and her spurs, but you have never ridden that horse so you have no right to judge unless you are her coach. Please if you comment just say something nice like they were always in beat to the song
Kaitlin Goodison Everybody has the right to judge and tell their opinion. Especially if it's about an animal not being treated as good as it should. Constructiv critism should actually help the rider in this case to improve. I didn't say she's doing it on purpose or to hurt the horse, sometimes you don't notice what you're doing wrong in that moment and I don't think talking about these mistakes is wrong at all. I can understand why she was riding like this, it was an exiting event and stuff, but as I said, especially in a case like this it's not wrong to talk about the mistakes which have been done.
Ali Dost a rider at this level does not need, nor asked for “constructive criticism” from a youtube commenter. until you have trained 6-7+ years consistently at the Olympic level, or until you have established yourself as world-renowned coach, then that is when you can give this rider “constructive criticism.” you also have never ridden that horse, so there is no way you can adequately judge the needs of the horse through one video. your statement is invalid. period.
Absolutely magnificent horse and rider. Beautifully choreographed to the music.
amazing
Amazing horse and rider
Lovely to see - not over bent and fighting the bit as many others do. As ‘natural’ as dressage can get. It wasn’t just the music that was uplifting!
The horses free walk omg 😍
one of the best ever - Alf strides out like he is going back to his stable, lovely to watch
Is anyone else just watching this because it looks neat?
I don't have a horse, and I have never ridden a horse, but I know a lot about horses, minus the riding.
I love horses and I would do anything to ride a horse.
Even if I had a horse, I would never make it to the Olympics. I probably would take much longer to train than anyone else. ◑﹏◐
Takes some lessons 😄
Pretty yanky with her hands. Her body was stiff too which makes the horse stiff too. Probably why they didn’t get higher placing
What a lovely open frame this horse has …..never over bent , uphill and swinging
I loved the passage-piaffe! So well ridden ❤
This ride BEATS charlotte dujardins ride. I really dont see the hype in her riding. Loved this ride. Can watch it over ans over again, especially those one tempi changes and two tempis are so on the beat with the music. Great job
The ending how proud she was made me cry! She should be proud! Although not perfect it was something 99 percent of riders can’t do! It was technical it was didficult and her and her horse had a good communication!
The horse did amazing. The rider not so much. She was very heavy handed and her legs were all over the place and very rarely where they should be at this level of competition. The Lion King is my favorite set of movies but this performance did not do it for me. She should have found different music that would go better with this test.
In my opinion the horse and the lady worked hard. Im sure u cant train a horse to do that and i bet u dont even ride. Its way harder than it looks for both the lady and the horse. I ride and i know alot about horses and i cant even train a horse to do that.
How do you think people are supposed to give different leg cues without moving their legs?? And the horse is probably hard in the mouth naturally. Hence needing to give more aids
Eh I’m not worried about the rider I’m worried of the horses mouth being tugged so hard
budgielover22 She didnt train the horse. They work with a trainer like any other GP horse. I think at this level, you should have what's called a "seat" and not be flopping around like a beginner. If you knew anything about riding horses, you should know this.
Megan Dillpickle There are other ways to give a horse cues than the legs you know. And as for the hard mouthed part, you are probably right. From the words of several trainers I know, the horse needs to "pull" on the bit because if it doesn't then it can't connect through the back. Yes that's an actual belief.
or better still, find a horse that she can ride without heaving at the reins - very ugly picture!!!!!!!
OMG SO COOL
I want to go to the Olympics for dressage 😍✨♥️🐴training is hard

Draw for life ist rollkur nicht verboten
this is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen in my whole entire life
This is a perfect video with the music, background, and the perfomance of both the athlete and horse.💚
4 legs, expert dancer. 2 legs, falls over
So relatable
Wayyyy too much hand involved as usual. Constant bumping, hanging, and pulling. Pretty typical, but still upsetting to see.
I hate how in high level dressage the horses are trained to hold their head in (often behind the vertical). It’s been scientifically proven to be harmful to the horse’s trachea (tube from throat to lungs) and the spine. The horse here is super talented but the rider is very tight on the reins. If you train the horse on a lighter hand, then they will respond to more subtle signals.
This is the best dressage I have ever seen
I dreamt about this for two sunsets.
I don’t know what it was telling me but I always love the freestyle dressage in the Olympic Games.
I always love the music from the Disney film The Lion King.
She pulls a ton on the reins and pretty agressivly too. His chin Is almost touching his chest. Poor horse.

Rosie.is_my.life123 I have been ridding for 6 years. I certainly don't know everything, However a horses neck is not naturally supposed to bend that way (for that long, stallions do it for short periods of time but their head is not pulled down and they have the option to move back) and their has been many studies along with basic bone and ligiment structure that show how harmful the overbending on the neck can be (rolkur). Not to mention when she cues him she uses her entire upper body to pull on the reins. No hate on you or the rider. I am just sticking up for the horse. A double bridle with the amount of pressure she is using to keep his neck flexed can't feel too great either (I am sure he's treated great however riding like this is not comfortable. This is seen in most dressage events) Again, no hate on the rider or her accomplishments, I just hate seeing a horse ridden in this way.
Rosie.is_my.life123 so do you think the horse would ever hold his head like that on a natural basis?
I saw so much dressage videos but this is the best i saw😍🐴🏇🏿
Good job
Amazing performance! 💫
Also mir persönlich gefällt der Sporeneinsatz kein bisschen.

I thought dressage was like a dance? Not the horses head being pulled off its body.

Rashik Thakor do your research before coming out with stupid comments like that the rider is not trying to pull the horses head of they are in contact and dressage is not just about dancing it is about harmony between the horse and rider

I am korean he say veryvery good!
I feel so bad for this horse... if you can see there is spit on its chest from the bit, this horse should not be going through this
Horses foam up for different reasons horses at my stables have light bits and are hardley used and like 5 mins after their bits being out on them they start to foam up
Going through what exactly?! You can easily tell that the horse is enjoying the test! He is completely relaxed and soft, his ears are pricked and alert! This isn't abuse at all!
exactly do you have any horses at your yard that foam up at the mouth?
The horse looks like he's dancing to the music
This is amazing!
very cute horse and beautiful music I love!!!
Love the music choice, but that’s a strong hand
piaffe trot transition was... perfectly ridden
Her hands were a bit tight and she was like digging for dimonds with her spers but other wise amazing test
