    Very engaging routine. What happened to that side pass at 2:24? It was lovely and then he seems to lose the rhythm behind and his fore and hind legs get out of sinc. He gets worse as they switch directions. Nerves or over cuing the horse? Must have been just a small bobble because then they go on to do single flying lead changes, piaffe, passage like its nothing! Well done!

    Can you teach any horse this or do they have to be of a certain smarts and temperement?

    • @marialindell9874
      @marialindell9874 Год назад +6

      Things like breeding do have a very big part in making TOP horses. Also training, what they eat, their temperament, personality ect. They have to have the yearning, will and brains for it too.
      Not nearly any horse could achieve half of what these horses can do. There's a reason why certain stallions and mares are so incredibly popular - everyone wants a foal out of them. People also prefer horses from specific _lines._ So they look out for specific horses that were used for breeding in the breeding history of a horse. For example: Totilas. People really want to have foals produced from Totilas. So they look out for decendants of Totilas to use for breeding. (Using lines for breeding can actually have great importance for several reasons. We have just one or two lliving lines of mares that carry a specific gene, which causes a strawberry-white coat in Finnhorses. No other line can produce a horse coloured like that, so it holds a very great importance. Losing that line means you cannot get that colour back.)
      The movements themselves are all natural. It's the fact that you can _ask_ the horse to present them in this way tthat makes it so much more diffiicult. A horse with no training in dressage can still do a piaffe in the pasture, but it doesn't make that horse the perfect one.
      Honestly I could go on and on about this topic, but the short answer is that not every horse can do this, just as not nearly any rider could do this. 😂

      Equestrian is one of the oldest Olympic sports, and dates back to a time when horses were used in war. It is to demonstrate the exquisite control and harmony of the battle partners- although, most of the truly martial behaviors have been removed. Watch a show by the Lippizanners of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, for example, to see some of those.
