Kia DOES have its own stinger logo. I have one and I don't mind it having the Kia emblem BECAUSE ITS A KIA. I'm proud to own it. That way people feel salty as I pass them.
I never cared for Kia. My sis just stared working there two weeks ago and she convinced me to take the GT2 2019 on a test drive and I lost my freakn mind like never before. This car is the shyt like this review is great but it doesn't do it no justice. You have to get behind the wheel of this bad boy! The whole time Im like this is a Kia??? The features in the inside are rediculous. I dont give a damn about the name Im getting this car. I never would have guessed I would choose to get a Kia. That test drive is what sold it. I was in smiles since I open the door. Stinger boo Im coming for you!
I wanted the Stinger but ended up with the Optima SX. IMO the Optima was just more polished. I think the Stinger will look even more badass after a few generations and that's when I'll get one.
I never thought that I would ever buy one and this car changed my mind. Was never a German car fan, have always felt they are a bit boring in design and too clinical. Have had Merc and Audi as company vehicles but always preferred Alfa and Lexus which have spent my own money on. Tried this and now this is on the drive and don’t regret it for a minute. People that buy badges will not buy one yet, but they will as no automaker is developing and advancing at the same rate as Kia and over the coming few years more and more people will catch up on the new world order.
@@dpjyule A great car is a great car.I could have had anything under 60k and got an AWD Stinger.10 year warranty on a 167 MPH AWD Super Sedan.Plus I was able to put over 30k back in the bank because I had a trade in and walked out paying 19k. I paid 19k for a 43k car and it has everything I need.I had to rent cars for the first time in life for business and started to love Audis--I do not think folks know how good these new AWD systems are and when you may need them.I had to drive thru delta --that hurricane dropped 4 inches of water and I had to go out in it and luckily had AWD in my Stinger--2inches of standing water on the road and the Stinger was so stable I just drove normal speed with no problem.Plus it gets good fuel mileage for the performance--i am at 23 in mix and yes I have the 3.3TT--i keep it in comfort mode 95% of the time cause there are hardly any cars around faster and it is almost too fast to even floor it in daily driving.Even getting on the HWY at 60% throttle and you are in triple digits on the HWY ramp before you even get on the HWY.I punched my Stinger late one night--comfort mode--getting on the HWY and I was at 140 mph by the time I had to merge--this was 3 am noone on the road--you really just can not use that much power.
I purchased one of these, a GT1 model. Before I exclusively owned German cars that were primarily money pits once the warranty ran out..even though I was meticulous about maintenance. I don't have too many miles on my car now (almost 6,000) but I've had no issues and the car is a hoot to drive and absolutely gorgeous (people have taken pics of it while I at a gas station because they couldnt believe it was a KIA and not an Audi or Italian car; people hover around it in traffic, which is annoying if I'm trying to pass them up lol). I did wince a little at the badging and it being a KIA, but at the end of the day it's a great car and I think I'm a better than being concerned about having a fancy badge on a more expensive, less-equipped car. In the past 15 years I've purchased (new) a BMW 325, Audi A3 (suspension and brake issues from the get-go), and Mercedes C class with 4-motion (axle BROKE at 55,000 miles). I then did the "buy a low mileage CPO BMW" thing....the car was in the shop every month for 8 months for different things. I will gladly take my expensive KIA with all the good stuff of the Germans sans any of the headaches I've experienced with them in the past.
I have a 2015 Optima SX. Before that I had 2013 Optima EX. I've had the same experience with strangers coming up and complimenting me on the car. Kind of weird. I never had that experience before. My Optima has 42k miles on it and is still running like a champ. If there's one thing I could change about the car, hands down it would be to give it AWD. Between that option being available on the Stinger and that twin turbo V6, this is a very appealing car.
If I could recommend something to you if you don't like the KIA badge is to buy some badges from Korea as there logo is different there and personally I think it looks alot better. They made a badge specifically for the stinger over there. Has a big E on it.
I believe Kia is trying to mimic Lexus with the Stinger GT. I.e., they overengineer and underprice early model years to build brand loyalty. The loyalty is built upon bulletproof reliability. The early models are loss leaders, but the experience brings the customer back. I’ve owned two Lexus, the original 1990 LS400 and the 1999 GS400, which was a new model in that year. I leased the LS400 and for the 3 year lease period, not a single thing went wrong with the car. The motor was so quiet and vibration free that customers sitting at traffic lights would try to restart the car thinking it had stalled. The GS 400 is now 20 years old and has 300,000 miles on it. It burns no oil. The motor remains smooth and vibration free. It’s running on the original spark plugs, original suspension and original exhaust system. I have only replaced brake pads twice. It is running on all the original light bulbs, save two. If Kia follows the Lexus paradigm, they will be successful.
I get what you're saying. I just got rid of my Toyota Corolla 2003, not a single thing went wrong with it. Traded it in for a BMW 3 series, now I mourn it's lost, wondering if I will have such a robust reliable car again.
No doubt the BMW will bring U satisfaction over the Toyota, especially in engineering. I owned 3 Series up until they dropped the inline Six for the Four, simultaneously upping the price $4,000. Who does this? Hence it's a great car, albeit expensive for a Four, then adding BMW options a la carte!
exterior by audi designer and interior by some ex Mercedes guys. Also chief engine designer was former BMW M vice president. The car is stacked with talent. also,i love this guy's passion and enthusiasm
Yeah, but few days ago I was driven in 4 year old Mercedes CLS, it was looking great and handle great like new car but then I looked on the clock and there it was 341 000 km !!!!!!!!!!!! So the real question is how reliable Kia Stinger is, I sure do like Kia Stinger, would love to own one, but can it reach 341 000 km and still act like a new car !!!!!!!!
You do!! ... So funny because I guarantee deep in the future teen tuners will be smoothing that right out of there... Such s ugly design que on a great car.
Love driving our Stinger GT2 AWD... handles great, rides great, acceleration and performance are top notch for the cost. Its fun to blow the doors off of the competition.
I think this is a great car and it’s biggest flaw is simply that it carries the Kia name. It’s unfortunate that they have gotten such a bad rap in the past and it’s hard to shed that stigma. Put any other manufacturer name on it and it would be a highly desired car. That being said you can find these brand new at a hefty discount if you shop around. Great value if the Kia name doesn’t matter to you.
Twippie Diggs True, my dad would kill me if he saw me buy this. He had a 95 Kia Sephia. Worst car he ever owned. An airbag deployed for no reason, the car would shake violently when turned on, and during a bad thunderstorm the windshield arm somehow dislodged and flung across the road. It was a horrendous pos. Eventually sold for a ford ranger. Now my family hates every Korean car company.
For a minute there I thought I was giving an example as to why some people didn't like korean cars based on bad experiences. I must be mistaken, but if you want to write it off as 95' cars being bad in general... go ahead.
Matt Lynch Dude it was 24 years ago. Most, if not all automakers have come a long way since then. My TV back then was a 32” Sony tube that weighed about 100 pounds. My PC displayed VGA graphics. I had a VHS player. In other words things evolve and almost always for the better.
If you would have hidden the logo I would have thought this was a Jag or Audi, nice fair & balanced review and this car is very nice, Go Kia! Congrats on 30k subs Joe!
Before moving to Dubai I was an Audi and vw freak. In Dubai i had a Seqoia and an old 2002 audi A8L W12 6.0L. Coming back to Europe and never having heard of the Stinger I bought it. Wow, I'm amazed and the sound coming out of the exhausts is amazing. Not too loud but enough to impress. The launch control is nice too. I sold the Sequoia but the Audi i'm keeping at a friend's place
Hi Joe, I really enjoyed this review. Really appreciate the amount of detail and preparation work involved. What an exciting car. I always think that you are only as good as your last piece of work and that review was excellent. Congratulations on reaching 30k subscribers. All the best from Sydney Australia.
That really means so much to me! Thank you so much for taking the time to say that!I appreciate you being part of the Raiti's Rides family and we just eep taking it to the top!
I have a 2018 GT2 and I am loving it. For everything that this car has, plus the looks, I would ‘ve easily spent so much more for an Audi or BMW. It gets so many compliments from people perhaps because there aren’t that many of them on the road. I am very happy with it with it regardless.
I test drove one and was blown away. If the car works for your lifestyle buy one. My brother picked up the gray RWD with red interior. I am jealous. The only thing that held me back was even with the hatch i needed more room. The roads by me in Upstate NY are shit and I didn't want to beat the shit out of such a beauty and the last reason was I didn't want to put a Yakima rack on such a beauty. I know crazy!!! But this car is awesome!
THIS CAR IS AMAZING!!!!! KIA BELIEVER THROUGH AND THROUGH! My Brother for a GT2 in white with the Grey Nappa leather! and WOW The interior is BEAUTIFUL! with the grey/white leather!!! the comfort is TRULY IMPRESSIVE
This Stinger is fantastic. If you're interested in the A5 or the 440i, you really should do yourself a favor and at least test this Kia. You get far more car for your money. Badge snobs need not apply!
I was just drooling over one of these in ghost grey at the dealership. Really great lines I may have to go back and test drive it. You are right though it needs a logo to go along with that really cool name. It would give it an identity like Stingray for the Corvette always likes the logo they came up with for that.
He's getting a little too technical but when you drive this rocket, HOLY CRIPES, IT MOVES. We were going to purchase an Audi S5, but its reliability was down and its cost far too high. The KIA GT1 is about $20,000 less and just as great a car. I took the the GT1 out this morning for a test drive, and it will be the car I purchase this coming Saturday. He is talking about the GT2, but the GT1 and the GT2 are identical except for some bling I don't need.
Well, first off Joe, this was the fastest 38:52 video I've watched of yours. You kept my interest where I didn't even get up to pop popcorn. lol Just a "few" comments: 1. I like the fact that you mentioned that when the other manufactures are cutting back to just producing SUV's and Trucks, Kia is hanging in with producing sedans. Let's see how long they can hold on. 2. This model has "Adjustable Dampening," aka mag ride? I never would have suspected that. 3. Mileage, 19 City, 25 Highway. Hmmm, it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, but my Grand Sport gets that mileage. 4. Weight of 3,800 to 4,000lbs. I think a diet might be order. 5. Cost of $51k? Hmmm, I can't really say this model provides "bang for your buck" at that price. 6. It really would be nice to have a mulit-mode exhaust, but NOT for any add'l. cost. 7. Now, I agree, it really should have some type of "stinger' logo. How about a raised portion of the hood outlining the design of the '67 Vette Stinger hood and matching smaller body badging to compliment same? 8. Interesting you used the phrase "neurologically connected," aka thought control. Do you remember the movie FireFox? ruclips.net/video/Y0S7uE7l_oA/видео.html Who knows, we may see something similar in our life time. The Man of Few Words waving out.
It's funny because when I was done editing the video I saw how long it was and was shocked. I tried to cut more out but all of it I thought was good. lol 1. Well they are also producing SUVs like the new Telluride! 2. They really have upped their game! 3 Corvettes with their cylinder deactivation have always earned good MPGs. 4. This a the size of an Audi A6 and they weight around 4,300lbs. 5. A comparable German product would be $70k 6. Yes you are right on that 7. That might work! 8. I LOVE THAT MOVIE with Clint Eastwood! I just used telepathy to communicate the rest of the message to you!
I'm "reading" you loud and clear. STOP YELLING AT ME! Let me telepathize with Ms. Lori. I think she likes me, PLUS, she speaks softly. Yeah, I know, but she carries a big stick. LOL Save the Wave. Oh yeah, FireFox is one of my all time favorites.
Nice car!!! I love when Joe is telling us about the hP under the hood and how fast goes from 0 to 60 ( 4 sec) and then he remind us one more time is a KIA ! hahaha. well done review.
Two things this car needs, An actual manual gear box with the V-6, and a personal luxury coupe sibling ( like the Thunderbird was in the 1970's ) or convertible.
I sell for Kia on Vancouver Island in BC Canada, and I found this video very helpful for my own education and walkaround practice. Much appreciated Joe, great video.
And I'm in full agree when it comes to our higher luxury performance models. Like K900, Telluride, and especially the Stinger, Kia needs to adopt some specialized branding and nameplates. One of my managers was saying the same thing last week.
Here is a stat of supercars from the 2000's. Notice most are in the 4.5 secs range. Now you can get a KIA that will do that plus 4 people and cargo. www.zeroto60times.com/body-style/supercar-hypercar/
thanks Joe, I learned a lot from this review. I've seen a couple of Stingers in person and I was impressed. The first thing that caught my attention were how nice the wheels looked.
Another fantastic review, again from Australia, were you have many fans, love the idea of Scorpion Badges would set this amazing car off keep up the good work
I would love to own this car. I am going to try to get one at some point. I have test drove one and I would get the GT1. The 2 has things I can do without. Better price and I get all the options I want
Kia definitely needs to change the logo, just like hyundai did with the Genesis. There is a different emblem that's aftermarket with just a K symbol which looks beautiful.
They wont. The Stinger is about long term brand building and not just about one hype. I bet this is the first in a row row products transforming the brand over the next decade.
Hans the 1st? No bud, that was the optima back in 2011. Take a 2013 sx for a test drive. I just drove a 2016 and was very impressed. Power everything but steering column, quilted nappa leather heated/ventilated seats, wireless phone charger. The sportage was also 2011, became better in 2013 with the suspension redesign. Cadenza way back in 2014. Stinger is just the latest in a line of really good cars.
Hey bud you didn't need the key fob to unlock the trunk all you do is stand behind the car and the hatch will open. The car is well done... I should know I own a GT2 AWD....it's a great car. I do agree it should gave more Stinger badges! It also would be nice if the whole rear end lit up with the brake lights. I also think the infotainment system shou,d be slanted towards the driver...but heads up display is very nice. I surprise a lot of people when I pull away from them.
...don't forget you can now go online and order the original larger OEM Korean version Stinger maserati-like script logo for the trunk (check RUclips for install videos) as well as the OEM Stinger oval E badge (or even those cool Lexus-like K or GT badges) for the front hood and steering wheel, and even all the four wheel hub insert emblems....all these make an immediately stunning and much more pleasing impact for this beautiful and exciting car...
Thanks for a very exhaustive and unbiased review. This is an absolutely beautiful car. I hope to own one of these by this time next year. Due to the price points, it will likely be a gt1 or a 2018 gt2. While I can understand brand loyalty for those.who have been driving the standard luxury brands, for those who have not had that luxury (pun totally intended), I would not get hung up on a name, particularly from a company that has been kicking toosh and changing the entire Asian car market game since 2010. I mean, even reliable but painfully boring Honda had to step up their game! I definitely would not drop $20K more just for a name. I will say, however, that $50k may be a hard sell for a Kia, no matter how upscale. As such, i agree with you in completely not understanding why Kia has not created a whole brand class around the Stinger name, including logos and badges. That is a big miss. $50K would be much easier to sell with a snazzy logo slapped on top of all that luxury and performance.
Thanks for the video. I was disappointed as to how the 2018 GT2 was optioned as compared to the same car in Canada. This year they came around with some of the small details that matter to those who pay attention. SVM and wireless charging... great! It's crazy how the US will drop near 50K on a craptastic CUV/SUV but have second thoughts on this model. Cheers.
I used to own one of these beast (GT) RWD trim and I once put a small IKEA couch in the back of it and it FIT!.. ofcourse i had to disassemble the legs and boards but i think the measurements were 72 inches long?.. i was surprised!! Definitely capable of hauling stuff in style lol
Didn't mention lane warning system , back-up and parking assist warning system ,dual climate and probably some other systems , but loving my 2018 GT atomic blue. Kia wants it's brand, for the past three years to be noticed.Anybody want to turn heads.
John Preuss. I know what you meant. Looks like CEO Toyoda Akido wake one day and designed to make a FAKE SUPRA to fool people. You should see his face when he is trying to hype up the clown at the Detroit auto show. There are no reaction from the clown at all. I think the new Supra is a fail.
I'd like to see this nice car without the Kia emblems. Just put "Stinger" in the back and "S" in the front. Then I'd FEAR this beast. :o) (Glad to see we're on the same page!)
This is really an amazing car. I had a 2012 Kia Optima Sx I purchased one year old at a time I would have never thought twice about Kia. I have to say it was a extraordinary vehicle. 265hp turbo charged gdi 4 banger. I had zero issues with that vehicle over a almost 5 year period and believe me I drove that car hard a lot. I’ve seen the Stinger in person multiple times and have to say it looks sweet! I first saw it debut at the SEMA car show in Vegas and it was extremely impressive all around. Great review covering everything about this car. I definitely foresee purchasing one in the near future.
You give some of the best reviews, keep up the great work. I agree the tail lights extending into the rear fender is hideous, the biggest flaw/disaster in the whole design. There’s no reason it has to be that big or even there. If I owned it I’d take it and get it painted body color even if it isn’t legal to do so. Also I agree ditch the Kia logo, this is a expensive sports car & a Kia emblem ruins it
I don't think they would ever use a scorpion as the logo. KIA design language I'm sure read as based on Marine life.. so stinger = stingray... I'm picking this car up in a few months once my home Reno is sorted. I really want the GT but might have to settle for the 2.0T if the renovation cost is too high :( Great video and really informative, thanks!
Zonk #1: Totally Agree, the logo is horrible. This car deserves better. The Korean E is much better. Zonk#2: Hood vents gotta go, fake or not, it's rice material Zonk#3: Another Car with another tablet on the dash like an after thought with no secondary controls. Zonk#4: Entire back tail light should light up Zonk#5: Staggered setup on AWD car even with rear bias is pointless and makes tire rotations impossible. Zonk#6: Too hard on gas, no cylinder deactivation, it needs something to get that mpg up Zonk#7: 35 series tires on back. This makes a winter tire 45 series, 35 too low profile for a daily, 45 especially bad in winter. Zonk#8: No remote start on the fob?!? Zonk#9: Paint quality Zonk#10: No fog lights Zonk#11: No front window De-icer for Canadian models Zonk#12: No touch sensor on door handles and only buttons on front doors Zonk#13: Still uses cap on fuel tank, cars in the price range ditched that ages back. Otherwise, one bloody good first attempt at a sportier car and I applaud them for making a AWD sedan WITH a hatch. But sadly lease rates in Canada at least make it pointless to purchase. Make that another Canadian Zonk.
that Lexus LS400 back in 1990 was the best car on the road better than Mercedes BMW Audi even Rolls Royce Lexus built a car back then that was the best thing on the Road !!
People never said the same thing about Lexus and Infiniti when they came out Nissan and Toyota we're already established as a quality car unlike Hyundai and Kia as a disposable crappy piece of s h i t. You're taking a car with a horrible reputation !and then offering an awesome warranty so you can full customers into buying that substandard car with a false sense of security with that warrantylet's not forget what the Bayliner boat franchise did in the 90s they did the same crap push the substandard boats out for warranty the heck out of them will fix them later almost put them in the bankruptcy and still if you own a Baylinerif you're at the boat docks around the water and you own a Bayliner it is considered the sub-standard of boats just like the Korean cars only difference is one is in water one isn't land
then you can tell Kia and Hyundai or substandard brand cuz they don't even have their own standalone dealership which Nissan Infiniti did. Everyone knows the reason why is because they're disposable garbage cars. You can polish a turd but it's still a turd AKA Kia Hyundai Korean motor cars who cares that they hired one of the m designers from VFW big freaking deal they don't have the resources or the technology to compete with the big boys end of the day would you rather have an m or a Kia stinger .
Nice review Joe, with one exception...you missed a discussion and demonstration of the Stinger’s Launch Control feature! This is somewhat unique and found on high end sports cars and sports sedans! It deserves at least a mention! Easy to use and quite impressive! It’s even standard on the 2.0 litre edition! Really impressive!
A superb car! Superb review! I'm holding off from buying a Stinger until Kia addresses the source of the rotor issues. So many buyers have had to have rotors replaced even with regular driving...has Kia addressed the source of the problem rather than just replacing over and over?
32:25 "I'm going to be a little quiet here as we go down to road so you can hear the different sounds"... Continues to talk non-stop. It would have been nice to actually hear the car, but otherwise a helpful review, thanks.
Excellent review like always, I laugh about the reflector in the side of the car, it's kinda weird for me too but if they put it like that I guess they knew why they did it lol. Those designers are among the BEST in the automotive industry in the world. Keep the good work bro. You're the BEST hands down!!
@Silver N Black Mopar Even though Hyundai owns part of the company, Kia still operates independently and has a separate design workshop, marketing, and branding. So yes Kia still meeds a luxury brand.
Silver N Black Mopar never say never. I think they can make a luxury brand and move the stinger, K900, cadenza, and Telluride over to it. Remember, the K900 is already a bonafide luxury sedan as an S-class competitor in Korea.
The front facia was designed after a tigers nose. The stinger is understated in horsepower and torque. More like 375 hp and 405lbs feet of torque. This car does have a sport mode ..
Good review Joe! I like the Stinger but I prefer the Genesis G70 which is on the same platform but is a little shorter and several hundred pounds lighter. Plus it’s more luxurious too. That rear taillight reflector is extended probably because there is no reflector on the lower quarter panel like most cars have. That Stinger logo is a great idea. Why didn’t I think of that? 🤔 👍👍
The Stinger is very similar to the BMW 440i Gran Coupe which I have. The only draw back for people is $50k+ sticker price for a KIA which the depreciation may bite more than a premium brand percentage wise. On the performance side the 440I GC is on par with the Stinger, but the Stinger is larger and heavier so the engine does do a really nice job in moving 3800 pounds. Definitely and eye catcher, but they also start what most other manufacturers do, including Hyundai, which is a different badge like the E they use in S Korea and use STINGER across the back which would look more proportionate. Add a deep blue metallic color, similar to the BMW Carbon Black, to the line up and get rid of side reflector (on red its not that much of an issue). Lastly, what most don't know, is the hatchback which allows for so much storage and utility. All in all you have a hatchback, sedan, and sport coupe all in one. Can't go wrong. If you are thinking of getting this car the GT2 is the only way too go.
Great detailed video. I'm totally feeling you on the sound. Adaptive exhaust would be mint. And the hood air dams should be functional. I'm looking at the AWD version here in Canada. My biggest beef is I want the red nappa leather seats but don't want to spend up to the GT2 to get them. I could care less about heads up display, 360 camera etc. But overall wow well done KIA. I'd take this over a 3 series or Audi any day.
I have this exact car, but it’s black. Surprised he didn’t highlight the Harman Kardon stereo system, it sounds unreal. Also maybe it came out later that year, but mine has an option where you can adjust the exhaust sound on the touchpad screen, I have it set to enhanced, sounds sick!
Towards the end of the video, Joe mentions the car not have adaptive exhaust. It does. Go into Custom mode, and you have three exhaust levels to choose from.
@@RaitisRides I get that, but IMO it's easy because if you think about it, it makes perfect sense that the Custom setting is where you would find it. It's where you can customize steering, suspension, exhaust sound...
Car looks cool ....it’s just that Kia should change the design of there emblem/logos cuz it looks generic. Yes, a scorpion badge will create the identity of the car & set the theme.
The stringer looks better than the Toyota Supra. There I said it
You are not the first to say that! Thank you for sharing you input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
I agree
Why no digital cockpit like the k900????... especially for that price
The new one.
The new Supra looks horrible.
Kia DOES have its own stinger logo. I have one and I don't mind it having the Kia emblem BECAUSE ITS A KIA. I'm proud to own it. That way people feel salty as I pass them.
Thank you for sharing input based off of your personal experience! I appreciate you watching!
Oscar....Here in Korea, we get a special logo for the Stinger. But honestly, I wish we got the Kia badging. I think it looks cool.
no they don't
@@betolov No they don't what? Their own logo? Yes. They do. But they don't use it in North America. Just in Korea, to my knowledge.
Thank you for sharing input based off of your personal experience! I appreciate you watching!
That feeling when a KIA is financially out of reach...😮
This one is pricey! Thanks for watching!
Used Kia Stinger have great resale price. Used 18s and 17s are around 30k. I've been enjoying high performance sedans.
Raiti: "I'm gonna go ahead and stop talking so you can hear the sounds and noises"
(Narrator): ....but Raiti didn't stop talking...
I think Kia should be proud of their logo
I can understand where you are coming from!
I agree, hard to build your brand name with a car like this if people don't know it's a KIA. I own a GT1 and it's a great car for the price.
Agreed. The badge should stay because this car was designed to redefine that badge.
Not like Mazda... They changed to a worse designed logo.
It looks like it was designed in Word Perfect for DOS by a toddler using a plain font. No better than Fords.
I never cared for Kia. My sis just stared working there two weeks ago and she convinced me to take the GT2 2019 on a test drive and I lost my freakn mind like never before.
Thank you for sharing your great input from your own experience! I really appreciate you watching!
Id be interested if it could be debadged.
Thank you for sharing your great input from your own experience! I really appreciate you watching!
Thank you John for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
This was designed by an ex Audi designer. If this has an audi badge, people won't complain.
I totally agree with you! Thanks for watching!
exterior by audi designer and interior by some ex Mercedes guys.
Drove one today was impressed. I honestly didn't expect it to accelerate like it did. Bravo kia!
I totally agree with you! For many experiencing it will make the difference!
This guy did a great job. He held my attention for the entire segment. Job well done! Thanks for the detailed information on the 2019 Kia Stinger.
Thank you Marc for taking the to say that! It really means a lot!
Own it! Love it! You can haul your load of groceries with ease, daily commute in comfort, or just floor it 😉. Great video.
Thanks Stacy for watching!
My Stinger popped a tire on the highway. I'm still alive. Great car!
I am so glad to hear!
I just got my stinger gt limited 2019.had a focus RS before...i so dont regret it...the stinger is amazing
They’re not going to develop a stinger logo because they’re using it as the halo to showcase Kia and they want you to know it’s a Kia.
That is a very good point! I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
I drive a 2015 Kia Soul and I am proud to see that KIA logo on the front and back....and wheels.
The rear reflector is there by design and choice. It was also there on the original concept and I really dig it
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
You do!!
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
You hit the nail on the head! I really think Kia is eventually going to change people's perceptions! You are so right for finding one at a discount!
@@davidlynch7704 dude its 2019, a lot of 95 cars sucked.
It's nice that your channel has subtitels! This is aweseome car videos and english class in once.
I am so happy that I can help with that!
If you would have hidden the logo I would have thought this was a Jag or Audi, nice fair & balanced review and this car is very nice, Go Kia! Congrats on 30k subs Joe!
Thank you so much for your awesome support! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Just bought this exact model with red leather can’t I pick it up tomorrow cannot wait !
Great review Joe-your delivery changed a lot in 12 months. Sounds like you been doing for years now! Oh - congrats on your 30k subscribers!!
Thank you so much Terry! Thanks for being along for this awesome ride! I am so excited to be bringing more your way!
Before moving to Dubai I was an Audi and vw freak. In Dubai i had a Seqoia and an old 2002
audi A8L W12 6.0L.
Thanks for sharing your great input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
I totally get how you feel!
I am so glad that you like this one! I totally agree with you!
This Stinger is fantastic. If you're interested in the A5 or the 440i, you really should do yourself a favor and at least test this Kia. You get far more car for your money. Badge snobs need not apply!
Thanks for sharing that great input and perspective!
Id buy a second hand rs3 over a kia anyday
I was just drooling over one of these in ghost grey at the dealership. Really great lines I may have to go back and test drive it. You are right though it needs a logo to go along with that really cool name. It would give it an identity like Stingray for the Corvette always likes the logo they came up with for that.
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you so much for watching!
I am buying one of these in a month...looking forward to it. Also, love the channel man...keep the videos coming!
Congrats, you are going to love it! Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate your support!
You gonna love it bro
He's getting a little too technical but when you drive this rocket, HOLY CRIPES, IT MOVES. We were going to purchase an Audi S5, but its reliability was down and its cost far too high. The KIA GT1 is about $20,000 less and just as great a car. I took the the GT1 out this morning for a test drive, and it will be the car I purchase this coming Saturday. He is talking about the GT2, but the GT1 and the GT2 are identical except for some bling I don't need.
Well, first off Joe, this was the fastest 38:52 video I've watched of yours. You kept my interest where I didn't even get up to pop popcorn. lol Just a "few" comments:
I tried to cut more out but all of it I thought was good. lol
1. Well they are also producing SUVs like the new Telluride!
2. They really have upped their game!
3 Corvettes with their cylinder deactivation have always earned good MPGs.
4. This a the size of an Audi A6 and they weight around 4,300lbs.
5. A comparable German product would be $70k
6. Yes you are right on that
LOL
Save the Wave. Oh yeah, FireFox is one of my all time favorites.
mercedes c43 amg, Audi s5 plus bmw 530i start~ 50k (M2 coupe starts 58k) and kia stinger GT2 starts ~50k.... thats not 70k
You are so funny! Now I have an urge to watch Fire Fox!
Very good point!
I'm in love!💜 I have yet to find a car that I love more than my Challenger until I saw this one.
I am so glad that you liked this one Stephanie!
Love my Stinger GT went with awd . Named her Scorpina. It's very responsive in the rain and snow. Kia dropped the mic with this one.
Very well done! Thanks for sharing!
Nice car!!! I love when Joe is telling us about the hP under the hood and how fast goes from 0 to 60 ( 4 sec) and then he remind us one more time is a KIA ! hahaha. well done review.
Thanks Andy! I am so glad tat you liked this one!
KIA are coming on leaps and bounds.I am liking it joe! 😍🍻
Thanks Warren, I totally agree!
I really like the Kia GT2 I will pursue it this week.
You will love it Clarence! Good luck!
It gets U anywhere , fast ,safe & sound and efficient.
So very true!
Two things this car needs, An actual manual gear box with the V-6, and a personal luxury coupe sibling ( like the Thunderbird was in the 1970's ) or convertible.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Yep, I could see it as a coupe. Always had the bigger luxury coupes, until they went away.
Hey I knew that looked familiar. I just bought a 2020 Stinger GT at friendly Kia yesterday
Congrats Nick! Small world!
You're right about KIA bringing up a distinctive logo for the Stinger. That will set him apart from the rest. Agreed 100%
Got a blue GT that I have had for 1 year. A couple of recall notices, issues with the rotors (replaced by Kia) but thats about it.
Thanks for sharing some of you input from your experience!
Some issues with the rotors warping? That's a pretty big issue.
On average how much is gas, I’m
Paying 54,000 for gt2 would you say it’s worth it and do you think I can make money dashing
I'd take that car anyday over any lower spec German. If they could get a Dual-clutch transmission, it would kill!
I totally agree with you! Thank you so much for watching!
So many anti KIA guys and KIA bashing.
This video is great.
Dont like the video why watch and put negative comments.
They shouldn't say a thing. It does 0-60 in 4.5 secs.....that is super car speed from 15 years ago. And this is only the 1st gen Stinger....
@@MatrixDiscovery that 3.3L V6 TT def has more potential. KIA recruited engineers from Audi and BMW. So basically the Stinger is German engineered
I will never understand why people do the things that they do, and to be honest I don't have time to. Thanks Lin for taking the time to say this!
Exactly! Excellent point!
Here is a stat of supercars from the 2000's. Notice most are in the 4.5 secs range. Now you can get a KIA that will do that plus 4 people and cargo.
www.zeroto60times.com/body-style/supercar-hypercar/
That is great performance for a 4 door. Nice car for the money. You're right about Kia needing some sort of logo to set it apart for the enthusiasts.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
They have it.
Scorpion logo on this car would blow my mind away!
AGREED!
thanks Joe, I learned a lot from this review. I've seen a couple of Stingers in person and I was impressed. The first thing that caught my attention were how nice the wheels looked.
You are so very welcome! I am glad that you enjoyed the review! It really surprised me!
As the owner of a 2019 GT2, I approve this message. 👍🙂🤘🏻
Awesome Steve!
Another fantastic review, again from Australia, were you have many fans, love the idea of Scorpion Badges would set this amazing car off keep up the good work
Thank you Derek! That is really awesome of you to say! Hey, great minds think a like!
I honestly like it. I wish they'd update their logo. The KIA logo is killing it a bit but i'd rock it.
I am so glad that you like this Stinger! Thank you for watching!
I would love to own this car. I am going to try to get one at some point. I have test drove one and I would get the GT1. The 2 has things I can do without. Better price and I get all the options I want
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Kia definitely needs to change the logo, just like hyundai did with the Genesis.
There is a different emblem that's aftermarket with just a K symbol which looks beautiful.
Ben Valenzuela did that work though ? I don’t think so
I know which one you are thinking about! I think that would be a smart move!
Thank you for sharing you input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Great review Joe, keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for saying that! I really appreciate it!
Way ta go Raiti. You just scratched the heck out of that windshield with those dry wipers.
LMAO! Best comment of the week!
My girlfriend has 1 and I love it 2019
Very cool man!
Thank you for your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
...don't forget you can now go online and order the original larger OEM Korean version Stinger maserati-like script logo for the trunk (check RUclips for install videos) as well as the OEM Stinger oval E badge (or even those cool Lexus-like K or GT badges) for the front hood and steering wheel, and even all the four wheel hub insert emblems....all these make an immediately stunning and much more pleasing impact for this beautiful and exciting car...
Thank you for such a well thought out comment. I really appreciate you so much for the kind words and hitting on those great points!
Cheers.
I don't remember if you mentioned that if you opt for the 18" wheels, you are speed limited to 130mph. Ouch.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Thank you for that extra info! That is terrible!
Hopefully you can do a review on the 2020 Stinger GTS, looks real cool.
Fingers crossed I will make it happen!
Love the stinger...KIA did a great job. Thanks forthe review Raiti.
Thanks Colin! I am so glad that you liked this one! You are so very welcome!
Best Stinger review I've seen thus far.
Didn't mention lane warning system , back-up and parking assist warning system ,dual climate and probably some other systems , but loving my 2018 GT atomic blue. Kia wants it's brand, for the past three years to be noticed.Anybody want to turn heads.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
That dealership looks like a Tommy’s burgers. Now I want chili fries. sweet car
Man that thing looks sweet. I'll have to go to Friendly KIA to check it out. Thanks bro.
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
God i love your channel, always the best content with the most details, keep it up man
That is really wonderful of you to say! Stay tuned for more!
Kia did it and Supra couldnt put at least 380 to 400 HP ??
I know right! It just does not make sense!
Stinger is significantly bigger and heavier car. Supra is a true sports car. GT86 has only 200hp but it doesn't mean it's not fun to drive.
@@liberty0758 the supra is a up dated scion frs really
Another thing this Kia has over the Supra is more functional vents.. couldn't believe the new Supra has fake vents.
Sir ... from Iraq - Baghdad the capital i thank you for this video .
I'd like to see this nice car without the Kia emblems. Just put "Stinger" in the back and "S" in the front. Then I'd FEAR this beast. :o) (Glad to see we're on the same page!)
Rated R Cars they have a different emblem that is just a K in Korea I believe. Looks beautiful, don't know why they dont put it on all their cars.
Brian put out a new video, damn!

I am so glad that you like this one! It is quite impressive what Kia has going on!
Hey Doug, take notes on how Joe dresses. love your reviews, subbed!
Thank you Joe! That is really awesome of you to say! I appreciate you joining this journey with me!
Also I agree ditch the Kia logo, this is a expensive sports car & a Kia emblem ruins it
That is so great of you to say Edward! I really think they need a special Stinger logo!
I don't think they would ever use a scorpion as the logo. KIA design language I'm sure read as based on Marine life.. so stinger = stingray...
I'm picking this car up in a few months once my home Reno is sorted. I really want the GT but might have to settle for the 2.0T if the renovation cost is too high :(
Great video and really informative, thanks!
I really appreciate your compliments and you bring up some great points! Thank you so much for watching! Keep me in the loop with what you decide on!
Hello Mr. Raiti,
One thing I would customise is shaving the rear door handles. Open rear door handle on a key fab.
That would look really hot! Great idea!
The Stinger is a nice car. The only issue I see is the Price.
Thank you for sharing you input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Ya, its too low for how much car you'd be getting.
Zonk #1: Totally Agree, the logo is horrible. This car deserves better. The Korean E is much better.
Zonk#2: Hood vents gotta go, fake or not, it's rice material
Zonk#3: Another Car with another tablet on the dash like an after thought with no secondary controls.
Zonk#4: Entire back tail light should light up
Zonk#5: Staggered setup on AWD car even with rear bias is pointless and makes tire rotations impossible.
Zonk#6: Too hard on gas, no cylinder deactivation, it needs something to get that mpg up
Zonk#7: 35 series tires on back. This makes a winter tire 45 series, 35 too low profile for a daily, 45 especially bad in winter.
Zonk#8: No remote start on the fob?!?
Zonk#9: Paint quality
Zonk#10: No fog lights
Zonk#11: No front window De-icer for Canadian models
Zonk#12: No touch sensor on door handles and only buttons on front doors
Zonk#13: Still uses cap on fuel tank, cars in the price range ditched that ages back.
Otherwise, one bloody good first attempt at a sportier car and I applaud them for making a AWD sedan WITH a hatch. But sadly lease rates in Canada at least make it pointless to purchase. Make that another Canadian Zonk.
Thanks for your well thought listing of Zonks! I really appreciate you takin the time to share those thoughts!
The BMW 4 Series killer?
Possibly
I have one. Killer car. Deceptively fast..
People said the same thing in 1990 when Lexus came out!!! whos going to pay 35K for a Toyata
You are so very right! People have bad memories!
that Lexus LS400 back in 1990 was the best car on the road better than Mercedes BMW Audi even Rolls Royce Lexus built a car back then that was the best thing on the Road !!
I remember those days!
Thank you so much for the compliment! You are so very right! I appreciate the extra info! Thank you so much for watching!
Outstanding machine! Great work Kia:)
I am so glad that you liked this one!
A superb car! Superb review! I'm holding off from buying a Stinger until Kia addresses the source of the rotor issues. So many buyers have had to have rotors replaced even with regular driving...has Kia addressed the source of the problem rather than just replacing over and over?
Thanks Christopher for saying that! From what I understand it has been handled!
Kia needs a luxury brand like Toyota, Nissan, and Honda.
I totally agree with you!
Thanks for sharing that info and input!
@@RaitisRides you bet
Good review Joe! I like the Stinger but I prefer the Genesis G70 which is on the same platform but is a little shorter and several hundred pounds lighter. Plus it’s more luxurious too. That rear taillight reflector is extended probably because there is no reflector on the lower quarter panel like most cars have.
That Stinger logo is a great idea. Why didn’t I think of that?
🤔 👍👍
Thank you sir for your awesome support! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! I need to do a review of the G70!
Thank you for sharing such great detailed info and perspective! I'm looking forward to that RX-7 review!
@@RaitisRidesclosing on the new house this week and will work on it shortly after. She will sparkle when you do the review.
I am so excited for you! I am also so excited for me!
@@RaitisRides Thanks!!
Nice detailed review! Like the car Joe!
Thanks George! This Stinger GT has so many great points!
I love this car so much 😍
It really surprised me!
I have the Basic model Optima fe 2018 on Lease.. Im tryna get into this damn
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Towards the end of the video, Joe mentions the car not have adaptive exhaust. It does. Go into Custom mode, and you have three exhaust levels to choose from.
Thanks for that input! My zonk would then be I would like to find that feature real easy.
@@RaitisRides I get that, but IMO it's easy because if you think about it, it makes perfect sense that the Custom setting is where you would find it. It's where you can customize steering, suspension, exhaust sound...
I think Mercedes Benz in their AMG vehicles has it the best. You have three different ways. My favorite is a simple button.
Defiantly 'Stinger' embossed on interior wheel...leave the Kia logo on the 'exterior'
to blow people away!
I like the way that you think.
Very nice car Kia Stinger GT2, a like it. Perfect desihn and power.
I am so glad tat you liked this one!
Car looks cool ....it’s just that Kia should change the design of there emblem/logos cuz it looks generic. Yes, a scorpion badge will create the identity of the car & set the theme.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
They would have to be careful with a scorpion though, not to step on Abarth trademark.
just the word stinger, similar to corvette. The KIA badge is just flat out ugly
@@GoofieNewfie The Korean domestic Kia logo isn't bad at all.
@@Zeracho I agree. I'd swap them 1st day
Great review Raiti! Good detail.
Thank you John! I really appreciate that!
