Coming from somebody who sells cars and has driven just about everything , dollar per dollar you really can’t beat it. This car constantly has gotten me endless amounts of attention, and I’m talking about from guys driving cars worth over 100 grand. If you’re considering buying this car or leasing it, DO IT !! I fit 2 baby/booster seats in the back with tons of room for them and alsoI took off the hatch cover and I'm able to fit my son's little push car everywhere we go. Great for groceries, and is fast as hell. Great pick up esp on the highways.

auto stop-start: I disabled this day 1 in my GT2 Scorpion with a small piece of plastic; I used some extra shims from bicycle accessories to wedge the button down semi-permanently and it keeps auto-stop semipermanently disabled on startup, without throwing any codes or any other negative side effects. The only negative is that the auto stop-start button remains depressed rather than level with the rest of the buttons in the console panel. I actually appreciate the golf bag answer. I've been looking into a new car for months now, and I'm constantly thinking "Yeah this is fast, but can I fit my clubs in there?" The Golf, S3, GLA45, etc, all make that a MAJOR issue for me. Not a big deal to just remove the driver though. Thanks.

I just got my 2019 Kia Stinger GT in Panthera Metal ... this car is awesome I have Borla exhaust system which sound freaky amazing and 19in rims(NICHE) . I also have Stinger badge on the front and rear but I should have upgraded to the GT 1 for the speakers. I guess I will just put some after market speakers. This car is freaky ass sexy..people come up to me asking what is this since I took off the Kia badges...
Great review, but don’t agree on the start stop comment... people don’t like start stop until are shown how much gas (therefore unnecessary pollution) is wasted at stoplights... has to be on by default...
I just bought mine 2 days ago--36k and with my trade in I paid 19k out the door for a car that had a sticker of 43k.KIA is giving 6 k off.I got the basic GT with V6--I did not want the sunroof or leather. It is a fantastic car.The computers are so good I see no reason to even use launch control because the car is lightning fast as is.I might do light mods that do not affect the warranty.BTW American cars with RWD can not do their 0-60 in the times put out by MT unless you take several runs at a drag strip--do a burnout and take the best run. This stinger will hit its 0 to 60 everytime within just a hair of magazine times.BTW in cold weather like it has been since I got mine--it runs much quicker. The 0to 60 documented times for the stinger are from 4.25 to about 4.7 on average.Mustangs and camaros and NA dodges are also exactly in this range. All of these cars are at drag strips doing high 3s to 4s with slight mods. The challengers--which I also looked at were all right at 50k and the computers were not as good as the stinger and the American warranties are 3 years--and the American dealerships treat you like dog doo.I have owned premium sports cars from GM and Ford and have friends with dodges and the service depts. and reliability are not good.Honestly I love American muscle cars--but I hate the reliability and the way the dealerships treat customers.Myself and a friend both owned an SHO--slight mods and a saleen mustang--sho was 40k and saleen was 60k years ago-100k in cars from ford.SHO leaked oil and had check engine light on several times--saleen mustang had check engine light on and FAILED emissions--check engine on from like week 2--and it bounced from one ford dealership to another to a saleen specialist--never fixed and we were just treated like idiots.Guy at emissions actually plugged his own mustang in to pass it.My check engine light fixed--his was not and finally put a sticker over it to not see it.BTW power window quit 6 months and with a snark the service dept guy looks at me and says "what you do to it" I hit the button to roll my window down I snarked back--then had to battle them to fix under warranty. That was it for me and I went to honda--had a Crosstour type r that has a video on here and just traded it in for a Stinger--no looking back
I’m still watching, bro! I dig what you’re doing. My car doesn’t compare to your cars but I have a 2016 Veloster turbo. Maybe one day we can meet up. I’m in Upton, Ky!
cra1g1483 Only the RWD versions of the Stinger have LSD only on the highest trim level and is still AWD and need tourqe vectoring - I’m assuming you want LSD for cornering and in that case the AWD is going to be heavier and slower.
The Car Review Guys yeah they did announce that for 2020 but it only sends 93% power to real wheels max and in a drift any upshift will curb your power slide into an abrupt regain of traction at likely the worst time ending you up in a wall - too bad you can’t control that upshift because it doesn’t have a true manual mode that will let you bang the limiter. Additionally the AWD 0-60 is factually slower than the 4.5 number the RWD puts out and weights significantly more. The staggered wheels on the RWD / True manual mode / LSD / lack of safety tech or gimmicks and a price point of $35k is impossible to beat. The AWD Stinger GT2 is an over tech touring car - great for touring - not for performance.
@@TRAXXMEDIAPRODUCTIONS To each their own. Come race me in the rain or snow. If I wanted a RWD car ill buy a mustang or Charger 392 or Camaro or Corvette. And I've personally recorded a 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Which isnt that far off of the RWD variant that can only do a 4.4 in perfect conditions. (Smooth road, sunny, warm, good tires) But again, to each their own. But not sure about your 93% comment. I read 100% can be transferred to RWD. Guess we will see when i get my hands on one.
Another thing too that confuses the hell out of me is that when you press it, and the yellow light is on, shouldn't be ON not OFF!?.. I'm like wtf man?..
4.4s zero to 60 is pretty generous. The G70 doesn't even advertise their car to be that fast. G70 has a nearly identical powertrain and shift logic, but it's close to 300 lb. lighter than the Stinger. Not hating just noticed you were giving factory numbers such as horsepower figures etc. I'm guessing the AWD stock GT2 is closer to 4.7s under perfect conditions.
I think car and driver is who reported a 4.4. Personally with a full tank of gas, and a passenger in the car, I've recorded a 4.6. So honestly by myself with less than a 1/8th tank I probably could do a 4.4 with the right temps outside for the turbos. But to the average driver just doing it on the street 4.7 is a very safe number to hit. Thanks for watching and commenting
No problem. And don't get me wrong. The cars quick. I own the same interior/exterior color and I agree with just about everything you said except the 0-60 at 4.4s. Did you get the stock wheels painted or did that come factory?
@@davyk8193 I had the dealer paint the factory wheels and lower the car on eibach springs. I worked ir into the deal of purchase. And I saw i just gained a sub. If that was you, really appreciate it! Almost to my first 1,000
Nope, factory tires just painted black, but they are the performance tires. I only know because the all season tire cars govern at like 136 and ive had this car well over that lol
Just picked up the same color G2 with stock black wheels. Now I’m coming off a 2015 Red Challenger RT that I had looking super clean... and yea in my first week I got just as many compliments. The actual looks I get are a bit more of a confused look vs the Challenger. They’re trying to figure wth it is 😂😂
Hold the auto stop button down for a few seconds, it worked for me. The engine doesn't turn off when i come to a stop now. i hate that feature as well. The golf club thing sucks too. it actually was the one thing holding me back from purchasing mine but in the end the desire to have a Stinger outweighed the fact that i had to take my driver out of the bag. Glad i made the decision, its an awesome car.
I tried to hold it down up to 30 seconds but every time I turn the car off and back on it resets. And yeah the car is very fun, it's small width trunk is worth it haha thanks for watching! If you subbed I really appreciate that too!
Imagine you drive a Mustang, and you see in the mirror a kia is keeping up with you xD, since ma dads got a stinger gt v6 I got to appreciate the brand kia more. I think if they keep pushing this beast of a car in like10 years the perception of kia will be different. I just love that "meme" of someone driving sporty and "just" a kia creeping up hahaha
Yeah Kia has come along way. Higher quality and way more appealing designs. Around 2016 kia got the head of BMW Engineering and a year later Audi engineering. So if you look at the Stinger it has several BMW 7 series items.
I know you were in water with the summer tires, but have you driven it in freezing temperatures/snow? I live on the east coast and figured when I bought it I would have to get some winter tires when the time comes
Drove it in like an inch of snow and rain at like 34 degrees. 0 issues. I never recomend driving performance tires in below freezing so they don't crack but as far as usability they are fine. And mine have 0 cracks what so ever. Coldest temps were around 15 degrees this last winter
@@TheCarReviewGuys One of the best winter cars I've had up here in northern Sweden, it eats slush and snow, -35, no issues starting it up. Tons of new snow, just chugs through it, it's really fun winter car too, sticks really well to the ice with the proper tires. Worst temp it has gone through was -40, no issues at all! On a fun sidenote, it was tested up past the arctic circle here for a year, so I think they thought of winter conditions too.. :) 2018 GT2 AWD Atomic blue. I love the Kia stinger gt2 awd that’s what I’m going for. I have a 2019 Kia Forte lxs now. I like it but need performance to the high end scale Nd that car does it. Just wish they would do a different logo for the stinger like Hyundai did with the g70-g80
Finaly the GT review is here!!! Thank You man!!! The start stop mode is an EU-Law regulation thing - so here in Europe nearly every car now has this equipped! - (except some import cars from america like the Mustang) ... you will wonder what terrible cars will come to the global market in the future, with tiny motors and electro nonsense to save emissions. So glad to have a 3.3 Bi-Turbo! greets from the Autobahn-germany!
The Car Review Guys really? Hmmmm that’s interesting. The dealer told me different. And I can’t configure it online with the 3.3tt with awd. I believe you though that’s just weird
EPA gives car makers a 3-5% mpg incentive to install non-latching stop/start. I looked at the GT2 for maybe a minute in the KIA showroom before buying a slightly used 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The Stinger paint color is really nice.
I’m pretty sure 99.9% of all other Kia Stinger owners will never have that annoying problem of not being able to fit 1-3 golf club bags in the trunk. lol

Probably it has to work like it is to conform reg. But you may push it in some mechanical way forever....
You should mention that the 2019MY has UPGRADES with wireless charging, 360 camera, heated rear seats and HUD! Not necessary with a car but amazing to have....
The 2018 has HUD. Mine has it. Just have to have a GT2. But the other items you are right. May make another video on it. Thakks for watching. If you subbed thanks a lot!
Subbed. After test driving one myself, and watching this. I'm seriously considering getting this over a scat pack
Kia has a better warranty and I Love the AWD haha and thanks for the sub! Really appreciate the support!

"Practabilty"? Where do i have to visit to hear people use that word?
I dig it, it's a good new word.
Thanks.
The golf alltrack can fit 4 golf bags easily
Glad I could help. I do enjoy some golf myself. Thanks for watching. If you subbed, thanks a lot! Really appreciate it

I'm in the same boat as you. Lookin at the scat pack, but drove this and I'm seriously considering this
Same boat. But did you hear the gt get horrible city miles, so that scatty is not looking too bad. But in the stinger you can customize everything tho. Decisions. Decisions.

Why do you suggest to replace the spark plugs?
From what I read on the forum its a must. Gapping and the grade of plug needs upgraded with a tune. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, got yourself a sub. When you do launch control do you hold the break and floor the accelerater or just push it in a little?
Hold brake firmly with gas pedal pressed at the same time. Release brake. Thanks a lot for the sub!
No LSD in the AWD Stinger. A deal breaker or a non-issue for the street? G70 has the LSD so it’s not like it wasn’t in the corporate parts bin.
Doesn't bother me at all. Keep in mind the 2020 GTS will have LSD I believe. Thanks for watching. If you subbed thanks a lot for that too!
cra1g1483 Only the RWD versions of the Stinger have LSD only on the highest trim level and is still AWD and need tourqe vectoring - I’m assuming you want LSD for cornering and in that case the AWD is going to be heavier and slower.
@@TRAXXMEDIAPRODUCTIONS the 2020 GTS AWD is LSD. It will have a drift mode.
Do you want a yellow light on all the time? It's default setting is on. i sure wouldn't
Almost to my first 1,000
Not everybody plays Golf. Luggage and groceries fit just fine.
Did you get the wheels powder coated? Or came like that from the dealer?
Worked it into the deal when I bought it
Did you change the tires? In MA they all were AWD and they all had all season tires. I think they are Bridgestone Potenza
Nope, factory tires just painted black, but they are the performance tires. I only know because the all season tire cars govern at like 136 and ive had this car well over that lol
A worthy successor to the turbo EVO.
i really like this car and it's super for anyone with Winter to contend with bro.

I miss this car. It was great to daily

I love this car.. :P The competition isn't available as they don't recommend them to run in -20C or colder..

Finaly the GT review is here!!! Thank You man!!!
